《Supernatural Imagines》Seriously?- Young John Winchester

((AU where John was a hunter before Mary and Sam and Dean and everything))
"Winchester, what a pleasant surprise," you said sarcastically, walking over to the hunter you couldn't seem to stop running into. He had been crouched over a body, disguised head to toe as an agent, and he stood to face you with a smirk plastered on his face.
"You mind, Y/L/N? I'm kind of on a case here," John sighed frustratingly, not thrilled to see you either. The two of you had bumped into each other on dozens of cases, each one more taxing on you two than the last. You never agreed on anything, not to mention you drove each other crazy.
"Yes and you're very convincing," you said, glancing over his ill fitting suit, and he rolled his eyes at your sarcasm. "And besides, I'm looking into the same case."
"Just don't blow my cover, alright?" John said as the town Sheriff made his way over.
"That suit would blow your cover before me..." you muttered, earning an elbow jabbed into your side.
"Hello Sheriff. I'm Agent McCall and this is my assistant," he flashed you a devious look, "Miss Martin." You rolled your eyes, but kept up the act in need of information. The two guys talked about background information on the case, and you took this opportunity to check out the body. It was a young lady, awfully close to your age. Probably your exact age...same eye and hair color too. Strange. You thought.
"Alright, so are you going to get lost or what?" John's voice snapped you out of your own head, and you looked at him with a shocked expression.
"Excuse me?"
"I mean, it's only fair. I did get into town first after all," he said as you stood up next to him. You glared at him, finding it difficult not to get lost in his eyes. You shook your head slightly, looking away from his piercing eyes.

"Just because you got here first doesn't mean this is 'your case'," you added, snatching the file from under his arm.
"Um, it kind of does," he replied, grabbing the file back from you. "Look, I know better than anyone how stubborn you are, so let me offer you a deal." You raised an eyebrow, knowing this ought to be good. "Why don't we both work on the case? Might be a good idea..." he muttered the last part, honestly wanting nothing less than to work with you. With the thought of him being miserable in your head, you actually considered the offer.
"Alright, you've got yourself a deal," you stuck out your hand to confirm the idea, and John begrudgingly shook it, but then his grip tightened when you went to pull away.
"But you have to cooperate, alright? You can be extraordinarily infuriating," he said, look at your eyes intently. Then John leaned in closer, whispering the next sentence. "I can kill you and make it look like an accident if you annoy me too much," he smirked.
"Not if I kill you first, Winchester," you replied, returning the smirk. You pulled your hand back, ignoring the tingling in your hand. "I'll behave as long as you do." You snagged the file from his hand again, and turned to walk towards the police station.
--------------------------------------
"I'm sorry, you want me to what?!" You yelled after hearing a monumentally stupid idea come out of John's mouth.
"It's the only option we have to catch this thing, and it honestly doesn't seem so bad," he sighed, much calmer than you.
"You think this is a good idea? Seriously?!" You laughed, hoping he wasn't serious.
"Do you want to catch this demon?" John asked rather seriously. You let out a frustrated sigh, glaring at him, and muttering a 'yes' through clenched teeth. "And did you, or did you not, say you would cooperate?"

"I did..." you said through an eye roll.
"Then you're going to have to be the bait. I'm sorry that you happen to be this demon's type, but that just means you'll be the perfect bait. That is, if you want to save the sweet, sweet people of this town..." he said, slyly and passive aggressively guilt tripping you.
You shook your head slightly. "You owe me one, Winchester."
---------------------------------------
That conversation spun around in your head like a broken record. Leaning against a wall of the warehouse, you kept one hand on your injured side, and grabbed your gun with the other. You expected the demon to come around the corner any minute and finish the job, and in your state, you couldn't do much fighting back. Looking down at the knife wounds in your side, you sighed in frustration. Pain was radiating from your side and you knew the amount of blood you were losing was bad.
"Y/N?! Y/N!" Your attention was dragged up towards the doorway in front of you when you heard you name. Then none other than your partner on this case ran into the doorway, pausing to stare at your injured state before rushing over. "What the hell happened?"
"What do you think..." you said through a clenched jaw as John lifted the bottom of your shirt to get a better look. "Demons aren't stupid, they can tell when someone's a hunter."
"Jesus, Y/N," he breathed, looking doubtfully at your side.
"It's not that bad..." you lied, feeling your breathing become more difficult.
"I beg to differ," John muttered, tearing a strip of his flannel to stop some of the blood. You inhaled sharply when you felt the pressure on your side, but that didn't distract you from the black spots dancing across your vision. The sudden feeling of exhaustion was overwhelming, and John must have noticed your heavy eyelids. "Hey, hey stay awake, alright?" He worriedly said, holding your face firmly.
"I-I don't, see that...happening..." you said, the blood loss getting to you as your eyes fell shut. You numbly felt yourself being shaken, but the world around you seemed entirely blurry. Despite this, you could still hear something quite clearly.
"No, no, no come on Y/N. I'm not letting you die, not without you knowing I love you." What? He didn't just...did he?
You willed your eyelids open again, greeted by the foggy image of his face. "What?" You muttered, barely audible.
John kind of laughed through teary eyes, and he repeated himself. "I-I think I love you." An uncontrollable smile played across your lips after he spoke.
"So...I can die now? Since I know?" You did your best to make a joke, which earned a small laugh and eye roll from John, but something told you he wouldn't let that happen.
