《Supernatural Imagines》Were You Ever Going to Tell Me?- Sam Part 2

There was no way in hell you could sleep right now. Not after seeing the guy you thought you'd spend the rest of your life with, the guy you had a baby with. The guy you thought you'd never see again.
You were standing in the dark, staring outside your bedroom window, watching rain streak down the glass. A baby monitor was clutched to your chest, as if you were clinging to the person on the other side of it. For once you actually wished your baby would start crying so you wouldn't feel so alone. You didn't think watching Sam leave for a second time would be as painful as the first... Of course there was a part of you that felt a twinge of guilt that you didn't do more to try to get a hold of Sam but..you could never ask him to leave the only life he knew.
Suddenly, the temperature in the room seemed to drop twenty degrees and you remembered why the Winchesters were in town in the first place.
Your hunter reflexes kicked in, and before even thinking you sprinted downstairs to Jo's room. No way would you let a vengeful spirit hurt your daughter. Once at the bottom of the stairs, you rounded the corner into your daughter's room and almost instantly your heart dropped. A tall, looming man, or rather a spirit, was standing above Jo's crib. Not a thought could process before you shouted a "Hey asshole!" at the spirit, and luckily pulling it's attention away from Jo and towards you. Then he vanished.
Taking this opportunity, you darted to the closet in your living room to grab the shotgun you'd stashed there, just in case, for an incident just like this.
The whole world around you seemed to slow, becoming a swirling mess of adrenaline, and the very instinct of hunting came back like riding a bike. You could've sworn you heard some other commotion in the house, but you were too focused on protecting your daughter. While running back to Jo, you loaded salt rounds into the barrel of the shotgun, and grabbed salt off the kitchen counter.

The spirit had appeared again over your daughter's crib, and it's obsession with Jo was starting to piss you off. You shot at the spirit's back, the salt round causing the creature to evaporate again, and you ran to Jo who was now bawling due to the commotion. You hastily started to pour salt around her crib when the spirit returned, and now it was pissed.
It threw you against the wall not once, but twice before you could compute what was happening, and a ringing sounded in your ears almost immediately after. Worry was starting to drown your thoughts since you could no longer protect your daughter. You did your best to get up, but the room felt as if it was spinning with the floor falling out from underneath you. Then, you heard a voice as you started to slip into unconsciousness.
"Dean! Burn it, burn it now!"
*********************
You felt someone sternly shaking your shoulder, telling you to wake up, and opened your eyes to see Dean's concerned face. Pain was pulsating in the back of your head, and you groaned before hearing Dean sigh and say "She's awake," to someone behind him. Opening your eyes again, you looked past Dean and saw Sam cradling your daughter in his arms, and realized that the room was silent. Jo wasn't crying anymore. She was sound asleep.
The older Winchester helped you up, and was explaining something about the spirit dying in the house and being buried in the backyard, they burned the bones blah blah blah. All you could focus on was Sam rocking your daughter back and forth. His hair was damp from the rain, and his eyes were almost shining in the low moonlight. Sam glanced up and met your eyes, but you couldn't tell what emotion was behind them. It seemed to be either guilt or caring. Maybe both.
"Yeah, uh, you guys really need to work out your shit," Dean added, "I'm going back to the motel. See you there Sam, maybe, and Y/N, it really is good to see you again." Then it was just you, Sam, and your daughter. Sam carefully put Jo back in her crib, and you leaned against it with one raging headache. Neither of you knew what to say in this situation, and the silence in the moonlit room was starting to become palpable.

Until Sam blurted out something you were not expecting.
"I want to raise Jo with you, Y/N," Sam said, sounding like he was trying to keep a steady voice.
You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding as a storm of emotions ripped through you. "You think, after a year and five months of radio silence, you can just pop back into my life," you looked down to Jo, who was still sound asleep, "our life like nothing's changed?" you asked, building up to a whisper shout.
"I know, I know I have no excuse for being M.I.A, but Y/N, I'm begging you to give me a chance. I'm sorry for leaving. F-for not trying harder to fix things between us and leaving you by yourself. I could try to talk my way out of it but, I...I was upset and petty and it shouldn't have happened. Honestly, a year and a half later and I can't even remember what we were fighting about, I just knew that I missed you like hell," Sam almost whispered, tears dotting the corners of his eyes.
You crossed your arms to restrain yourself from hugging the tall, precious man in front of you. "Honestly I can barely remember the fight either. I think it started with me yelling at you for being reckless, and then you yelling at me for being too protective and it just spiraled out of control," you sighed with a flat, sad smile.
"God," Sam shook his head, "I should've been there for you, it's as simple as that and I can't change the past but I can be here for you now," he sounded a bit more confident, pressing his shoulders back.
"I can't ask you to leave your life Sam, to completely change your life," you shook your head slightly, looking down at Jo.
"I'm offering to change my life, Y/N. I want this, I want you, I want this life," Sam took a few steps closer to you, but you stayed put, surprising yourself since you two were almost essentially chest to chest.
"Do you think raising a child is easy? Don't make an offer you'll regret, Sam," you whispered, looking up into his hazel, caring eyes.
"I'm not. There is no one else in the world I would rather have a family with, Y/N. I loved you a year and half ago, and I never stopped. Yes, there was a time when I thought hunting would be my life forever, but... Being here with you, and Jo, that's what I want my life to be. I wish I didn't have to be without you for so long to realize that, but I love you Y/N. I always have."
You couldn't restrain yourself any longer and leaned up to press your lips to his. Not kissing the love of your life for a year and five months led to an incredibly passionate kiss that Sam happily returned. He held your body close to his, as your hands wrapped up his shoulders and behind his neck.
When you two pulled apart for air, you said what you never thought you would after you gave birth to Jo. "Stay, Sam. Please, I want you to stay. I-I want our daughter to know both her parents."
A smile spread across Sam's face and he held you so close you knew he'd never let you go again.

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.

Domain of Man
Isolation is terrible. To feel isolated with your fellow man around you is worse. What if you were dumped in some backwards cave somewhere, completely nude, maybe with your family, or even completely alone? The age of pioneers, heroes, generals, and geniuses is long gone. Humankind has become numb to the world around it because of how paltry everything else is compared to the glory of its history, the sheer volume of their accomplishments, and the sum of its innovations. You can interact with people across the world, travel miles in mere hours, and never prepare your own food or shelter, and it's all accessible to even the normalest of individuals. Artificial intelligence is within arms reach in devices and computers and even houses, and neural interfaces aren't exclusive to the rich and powerful at this point. Someone far in the distance took notice of Earth, saw the multitude of hairless apes swarming its surface. That one went down the checklist to see if humanity had, in fact, beaten the 'game' of Life. Sure enough, they had gone above and beyond the requirements, but nobody had been watching. 'Why might that be?', that one wondered. Protocol was protocol, though, no matter how strange the situation was. They pulled the lever, they flipped the switch. It's time for New Game +. ???
