《A Solangelo Alphabet》V - Volleyball (and some other stuff)

"Nico!" Piper called. "Come on! Please play with us!" Nico sighed. Piper, Jason, Percy, Annabeth, and Will were playing volleyball but they kept switching teams because there was only five of them. "You'll make it even teams Neeks!" Will hollered. They'd been pestering him about it for the last fifteen minutes or so, and he figured it wasn't going to stop anytime soon, so he slowly stood up and made his way over to the sand in which the net stood. "Yay! Look who's finally doing something!" Will teased. Nico glared at him, making Will and Jason laugh. They split into teams, being Annabeth, Nico, and Jason against Percy, Will, and Piper.
About another fifteen minutes later, the match was getting pretty intense, and Nico intended to destroy Will's team. He was, to his surprise, enjoying himself. They had decided earlier on that the first team to reach ten points won. Nico's team had enough points that when they scored again they'd have ten points. But the thing was, so did Will's. The ball came flying towards Nico's side of the net, and Annabeth and Jason were nowhere close to it. "Nico!" Jason yelled. "Hurry!" Annabeth urged. Nico knew he'd never get there in time to stop the ball running, so he decided on plan B. He jumped up in the air, did a backflip towards the ball, and kicked it as he flew by. The ball sailed back over the net, but nobody on the other team bothered to stop it. Everyone was standing dead still in dead silence. After a few seconds, Will choked out "Nice move Neeks." Nico smirked. "Dude," Jason said. "I had no idea you were that..."
"Flexible?" Piper guessed. "Yeah." Percy's eyes had widened greatly, and Annabeth looked like she just didn't understand . Nico's smirk grew. "Do something else, Nico." Annabeth said. Nico looked around at his friends, who all seemed to want him to 'do more'. So, with a shrug, Nico did another backflip in the air and then a back handspring when when he landed. Percy's eyes were even bigger. Annabeth and Piper looked stunned, and Jason was grinning. "That's my boy!" Will hollered, causing Nico to groan and his face to turn bright red. "How do you know how to do that stuff?" Piper asked. Nico shrugged again. "When you're hanging out in the underworld with Dad, you get bored. You gotta have something to do." Percy nodded like he completely understood. Nico wanted to make some comment asking Percy if he could do some of that stuff too, but he was already laughing.

An Unwavering Craftsman
Given the hereditary nature of classes, everyone expects Damien—the child of two high-tiered adventurers—to be granted a high-tier combat class of his own. Expectations are betrayed, however, when Damien finds himself instead saddled with a crafting class of the lowest possible tier: [Neophyte Tailor]. Left practically crippled compared to those with better classes, Damien wants to avoid becoming a pawn in the machinations of the nobility, desiring only to grind his level in peace while wondering why the usual rules of inheritance were broken. Was it his desire to excel by his own effort, rather than an unearned blessing from a god? Did the Five take offence at his opinions on the unfairness of hereditary classes? Or maybe it was something to do with the alien voice that intruded on his ceremony? A voice that offers great power, and freedom from the tyranny of the Five, but that never names its price. This story is litRPG-lite. While the class someone possesses controls most of their lives, people don't get dinged at for every level they gain, nor can they see their status without undergoing a special ritual. The MC has no romantic interest. Crafting is merely a way to game the system, and doesn't feature heavily in the story, aside from a few descriptions on how they're carrying out the system abuse. There is, on one unfortunate occasion, maths. The pace is quick. This was a participant in the Spring 2022 writathon. (i.e. it was posted as-written at high speed. I may give it another editing pass in the future.)

Sustaining the King's Life
On a secluded mountain situated upon a kingdom known as Feuersturm, resides a seemingly trifling cabin with an unlikely duo as its inhabitant—a witch, and her apprentice who presumably comes from a clan sought after by slave traders. Faustina is a sixteen-year-old girl who fled the slave market with the help of a sickly witch named Eula, who later on trained her as an apprentice for the span of seven years. Plagued with a mysterious disease for several years, Eula died despite the efforts Faustina had exerted to cure her; in her last breath, she left an odd request behind. "Sustain the king's life. This is your duty. Do not adhere to the prophecy." To which the odd plea shadowed a bizarre series of events, a consequential sentence, similar to that of a premonition. The same night the phrase was muttered, the chain of events followed: A warlock's intrusion to their home, with a peculiar yearning to resurrect Eula from the dead... and the king himself, asking for Faustina’s aid. ** 1-2 chapters a day (GMT+8) ** (The artwork belongs to me.
