《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 43: Panic

"If there's a way out of here, Artooie will find out." Ahsoka still held Silmy in her backpack. R2 led the way down a dark hallway reaching a container. "Make it quick," Anakin said, making R2 beep annoyingly.
"Finally asleep, huh? Put him down. Get some rest yourself. It's been a long day for you, little one." Anakin whispered, making sure Slimy wouldn't wake.
"I can hold him, Master. I'm not tired." Ahsoka held onto the straps of her backpack tightly. Her legs seemed to be shaking for the weight of the Hutt. "Okay, suit yourself. I don't see why you won't just listen to me." Anakin laid down on the bench relaxing his body.
At that moment, all I wanted was to lay next to him. "I do listen to you, Master. I don't like being treated like a youngling."
Anakin sat up, he stretched in his movements, "You must have patience. What are you trying to prove anyway?" Ani asked.
Ahsoka hung her head; I grabbed her shoulder, making her eyes stare into mine. I gave her a weak smile, knowing it was okay to talk about anything. "That I'm not too young to be your Padawan." Her voice was cracky; she held back the tears that have almost spilled from her eyes.
"Ahsoka, a very wise Jedi, once said, "nothing happens by accident." It is the will of the Force that you are by my side. I want to keep you there in one piece." Anakin softly said, standing on both his feet.
She finally placed Slimy on the ground making sure she took a break. "You are enough, Ahsoka," I said, making her smile.
That smile quickly faded away as the tower began to tremble. "That sounded bad," Anakin said worriedly. The seppies must have found a way inside, only leaving us with a few minutes left to spare.
R2 had finished downloading the rest of the map, loading it up on a hologram picture. There seemed to be a back door landing platform highlighted in all red. "We'll call for a gunship when we get there. Lead the way R2." I quickly gathered our belongings, preparing for another run.
Though I noticed something was out of the ordinary. A particular stinky smell was no longer around. I looked down, seeing the backpack was lying knocked on the ground. Slimy was no longer asleep; he had disappeared.
My head spun around in every direction, to the corners and creaks of the walls. Seemingly, Ahsoka had forgotten all about Slimy. "Ahsoka, where's Slimy?" I asked. Her eyes grew as wide as watermelons. "You told me to put him down!" Ahsoka pleaded.

Every head, including R2s, began to search. Panic ran through our bodies, knowing how important this mission was to the council. It was crucial to get Jabba's son alive and well.
Moments passed when a soft whimper was heard from underneath the bench Anakin was sitting on a few minutes ago. Ahsoka immediately threw herself on her knees, looking underneath; she clapped her hands, insisting it was Slimy.
"Come here, Slimy!" Ahsoka grabbed the Hutt by its small tail dragging him out in an instance. She held him in the air like a trophy. A wide smile appeared on all our faces knowing a weight has lifted from our shoulders.
"Here let's tuck Slimy in tight." Anakin held the Hutt for the first time taking him into his hands. I'd say he would need a bit more practice. He had Slimy with the tips of his fingers, diligently placing him back onto the back of Ahsoka's backpack.
"Let's see you get away this time." Anakin chuckled; his eyes landed on mine when he soon discovered he was adapting to the kid. His smile slowly faded, making him scratch the back of his head in an attempt to wash away what I just saw.
"Anakin, come in."
Rex came through the intercom; his voice didn't sound the way it usually did. I furrowed my brows, going on with the conversation. "Anakin?" I whispered to myself; Rex never called Anakin by his first name.
"We've held the droids, sir." Rex continued though everyone seemed to catch on that something was weird. "That's not like Rex," Anakin assured the group by making eye contact with everyone. "What is your location?" Rex asked, making it more obvious it wasn't him.
"Ventress." Anakin seethed through gritted teeth. His face turned a cold pale; this would happen every time he was angry or annoyed.
"Dooku's Assasin?" Ahsoka asked. I had to remind myself that Ahsoka had never met Dooku or Ventress, but I knew she would dislike them as much as Anakin and I do.
"She's here to kill the Hutt. We have to move on now." I demanded, ignoring the thoughts that began to spiral inside my head.
We ran through the same dark halls we had once passed through. The air was suffocating; I felt the Force reaching out to Ventress's dark energy. It was draining. As a young girl, I was strong with the Force; some would say it was dangerous, while others would say the opposite.

I knew Anakin could feel her as well; he was more powerful than all the Jedis combined, more powerful than Yoda.
We ran down a stairwell that finally led us to the outside back deck. We stopped on our feet, inches away from the ledge. "Amidala to Obi-Wan. Mark my position. I need a medical ship immediately." I yelled into the intercom band.
There was no response. "Do you copy?" I worried; the Force sensed Ventress was getting closer. "Y/n, do you read me?" Obi-Wan finally answered. I let out a sigh of relief. "Obi-Wan, we need medical transport now," I demanded, but yet again, there was no response.
"Let me try." Anakin talked into his intercom, attempting to get a hold of his Master but got the same results.
"I can't get ahold of Obi-Wan. I'll see if I can find Captain Rex." Anakin's frustration started to kick in, he turned his back, walking a few steps talking in private with Commander Rex.
"Do you think Slimy will be okay?" Ahsoka asked, her eyes peered into mine. I nodded my head, "He will be fine." I placed my arms on the side of Ahsoka's shoulders; it must be a stressful first mission.
I thought about Zander, wondering if he was okay. We haven't spoken much the whole day, but somehow I knew he was handling himself well. My thoughts were interrupted as soon as Anakin began to walk towards the tower we just left.
"Master, Slimy is sick. He's turning every shade of green except the one he's supposed to be!" Ahsoka snapped, she glared at Anakin with an icy stare. "Our mission was to get him back to Tatooine alive!"
Ahsoka pointed in the direction of the open air. I for once agreed.
"Obi-Wan will get here eventually. Right now, we need Rex to help us find a ship." Anakin grumbled; he massaged the sides of his temples in hopes it would get rid of the tension I felt too.
Not surprised, two droidekas rolled up.
"Great. Rolling death balls." Ahsoka sarcastically huffed.
The droids began blasting in our direction, making us pull out our lightsabers again. "R2 get the door," I ordered, making him beep in annoyance.
An overwhelming feeling took over my body, my eyes shot in the direction of the droids. From behind the shadows was Ventress, standing tall and firm. "Shut it now!" I yelled as the door slammed closed, casting her away in the tower.
My heart became full of rage but panic. Two red sabers jabbed into the metal door, making a circle frame.
"I think now would be a good time to retreat." Anakin nervously chuckled.
"Retreat? That's a new word for you." Ahsoka's nerves were beginning to settle in.
"Maybe into the jungle," Ani suggested running in the direction of the cliff. "Wait, I remember the jungle was a bad place." Ahsoka stopped on edge of the cliff, looking slightly down.
"Looks like we're out of options." Anakin closed his eyes, taking a deep breath.
I did the same in an attempt to relax my whole body before the big fight.
"Master look!" Ahsoka shouted, making my eyes pop wide open. I turned around to face a tall mountain in the distance, not too far from the spot we were in. On top was a ship, perfect for taking.
"How are we gonna get over there?" I asked worriedly, knowing our options were very short.
"Leave that to me," Anakin smirked, making my eyes roll. He ran off the platform, making my body peer over the ledge in an instance. He was fine; he landed on what seemed to be a large bird. Relief filled my body, this boy was reckless, but I loved him.
"Master Amidala, watch out!" Ahsoka cried out. I turned to face the door that has now been cut out entirely. An angry Ventress was heading in my direction. I ignited my saber again, beginning the dreaded heated fight.
"Where is Skywalker?" Ventress harshly asked as we faced each other. "Right here, Ventress!" Anakin yelled as he came hauling in a gigantic bird. Distracted by Anakin, I kicked Ventress, making her fall onto her back.
"Hop on!" Anakin yelled. Underneath our feet was the platform cracking from the blasts it had taken in from the droids beneath it. I grabbed the backpack placing it over my shoulders while I jumped as far as I could, hopping onto the bird. I held Anakin's waist tightly as the bird began to sway fastly, dodging blaster shots.
Ahsoka held tightly onto R2 as we flew away onto the other mountain. What a long short day it has been.

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
