《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 44: The Sand of Tatooine

When we landed on the mountain, the ship we had seen from afar was a junk piece.
"What a piece of junk!" I shouted, scrunching my face at the peeling paint.
"Ahsoka, get aboard and prime the engines. Assuming it has engines." Anakin nervously laughed.
He kneeled, checking up on R2 before landing his eyes on mine. He stood tall before grinning widely. "Another great plan completed." I teased, playfully punching his shoulder. He grunted, making me roll my eyes.
He looked dangerously good in his blue and red suit. Our eyes locked once more; his gaze seemed to be more intense than it usually was. His tall frame hovered over him; intimidation crept in.
He huffed, amused; his eyes were no longer on mine, but roaming the parts of my body he could see. "What?" I asked, looking at my robe, interested in what he was looking for.
My breath hitched when his hand slightly grabbed my waist, tracing the material up to my chest. My pulse picked up, knowing Ahsoka could stare at any moment, though my feet were stuck in place.
His brown curly hair fell messily over his forehead. I felt myself biting my lip as the silence grew and the tension dragged on.
"Is there something on-" I began but was cut short. "Just be quiet." He laughed silently. He began to step forward, inching his face closer to mine.
"Blast her!" My head turned in the direction of the firearms. "Ahsoka!" I yelled, running to the droids. I whipped out my lightsaber, jumping on the shoulders of the droids, slashing their heads off. Until I noticed the caretaker's droid's head was on the ground.
"He was bad?" I asked. Ahsoka nodded, heading into the ship.
"Not so bad could be better." Anakin teased, getting aboard the ship. I pushed him slightly, making him almost trip.
We made our way to the front of the ship. As usual, Anakin was the pilot, while Ahsoka and I relaxed listening to Ani ramble about his piloting skills.
Expected, the piece of junk wasn't turning on. I grunted, knowing we were still stuck on this planet with Ventress lurking.
"Relax, R2, see if you can spark the ignition couplers." Ani order. To our surprise, the ship still wasn't turning on. "No, that's not it. Try opening the fuel lifters all the way."

R2 turned around, beginning to work, making the power turn on. Finally, to get off this planet was like winning the lottery ticket. "Good work, buddy!" I yelled as I redirected my view back to the window.
Anakin lifted the ship going back into the direction of the tower. Tons of republic ships were already on the scene. "Master Kenobi is here. Now we'll see some real fireworks!" Ahsoka cheered as she held Slimy into her hands.
"Excuse me? What do you call what I've been doing all day?" Anakin scoffed.
'"I don't know. The word "reckless" comes to mind." Ahsoka joked, making me laugh in an instance. I noticed Anakin eyeballing me from the side, causing me to shut up.
"Very funny, Snips. Back to work. The Troops still need our help. Charge the main guns." Anakin sighed, snapping us back to the battlefield.
"How are we going to help? Slimy is getting sicker and sicker." Ahsoka protested, clearly directing her words towards Anakin.
"But we promised Rex we'd help," Ani said, trying to negotiate with Ahsoka. Seemingly, it wasn't working. Ahsoka wasn't giving up; she was attached to Hutt more than I was, and I couldn't blame her. He was stinky but adorable and harmless.
"Master, we've got to get him to the medics on the Jedi cruiser. It's our only chance in getting Slimy back to his father still breathing." Ahsoka pleaded once more.
Anis's eyes darted back in forth between the Hutt and the battle. He closed his eyes, sighing. "Captain Rex, this is general Skywalker. We're not going to be able to help you." Anakin huffed, sounding defeated.
"Don't worry about us, General. We'll be alright." Rex answered back, making Anakin smile slightly.
"Well, let's get going!" I cheered in the hope of aiding the tension in the ship.

After an attempt to board on the Jedi cruiser ship, we were overrun by separatist ships making it impossible to dock. Our only plan left was to take the ship to Tatooine, hoping that Slimy will make it alive.
"I don't think he's going to make it, Master. There's gotta be something we can do." Ahsoka whispered as she wiped the sweat that had formed on the Hutts forehead away. It was true; he was no longer a bright green shade; he was paler than ever.

"I'll try to look for some medical supplies in the back?" I suggested making her shake her head. "I'll go do it; it's the least I can do, for saving me." She sighed, placing Slimy on her seat. She slowly moved to the back of the ship, exhausted.
"Don't die on me now, little guy. Just hang in there." Anakin whispered. I smiled, knowing he had moments when he let his ego down when he was vulnerable and lovable.
"Master, I found some supplies; I'll take the little Hutt to get taken care of." Ahsoka grinned, grabbing Slimy, cradling him into her arms.
Ahsoka grabbed a tiny jar that held the medicine needed for Slimy. She tilted his head, making the chewable gummy fall into his mouth. After a few seconds, Slimy returned to his natural green color.
"The medicine, it's working! His fever broke. I think he's going to live to stink another day," Ahsoka giggled, kneeling to where the Hutt laid. She smoothed his forehead in aid to comfort the kid.
"Great. Keeping him alive wasn't as easy as you'd hoped, was it?" Anakin teased. Both Ahsoka and I nodded in agreement. It wasn't easy taking care of a small baby, especially a Hutt.
"Master, you grew up on Tatooine, right? So, for you, this trip is like going home." Ahsoka began. Anakin stopped working on the ship's parts, probably remembering all the horrible memories he went through.
"Yeah. Home." He muttered quietly, trying his best to sound strong and convincing though his voice failed him. Anakin's eyes flicked over to me for a mere second. He hung his head down low, knowing it wasn't home for him.
"Try and get some rest Ahsoka, you've had a long day." I walked over to her chair, laying my hand on her shoulder. She yawned in response before nodding her head. "You're right; it's been quite a day." She weakly laughed, yawning once more. "Head to the back; there's a bed you can rest on."
She smiled, taking the offer; she slowly walking towards the back of the ship. I laid my eyes on Anakin, who continued to work on the ship, though I sensed he was being troubled.
"Ani, are you okay?" I asked the brown-haired boy who laid his tools on the nearby counter. He sighed, "I was hoping I'd never have to lay eyes on this dust ball again." he buried his hands in his pockets.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I suggested, even though I knew he probably didn't want to even think about it. His stormy eyes suddenly glanced at mine. "I don't want to talk about it. How is Slimy holding up?" He asked, focusing on anything else other than the fact we were approaching Tatooine.
I looked to the back counter where the Hut was lying peacefully asleep, wrapped in a red baby blanket. "His fever is gone." I smiled, glancing back at the boy who seemed focused on piloting the ship.
"Great." He mumbled
The ship began to tremble as we began to approach the surface of Tatooine. "Hang on; this landing could get a little rough." His voice had become louder as the sides of the ship began to burn up. I held onto the sides of the chair tightly, knowing landing wasn't going to be easy. The ship roughly slid under the harsh sand of Tatooine, landing perfectly in the middle of nowhere.
"Are you okay?" Anakin unbuckled himself, quickly heading towards me. He placed his hand on my forehead as I grunted. "I'm fine." I unclipped the belt holding me in place. His hands caressed my cheeks softly, looking for any signs of severe damage.
"I'm so sorry." he cried as he hung his head down. "Anakin, I'm fine. We need to get going." I grabbed his hands, caressing them before standing up.
Ahsoka walked in, grunting as well, holding the sides of her hips. "Well, that was a nice awakening." She weakly laughed, grabbing the Hutt from the counter.
We made our way outside. The hot sun glaring on our faces.
"Jabba's palace is on the far side of the Dune Sea." Anakin sighed, looking in every direction. There was nothing in sight, only more and more piles of sand.
"We'd better hurry if we're gonna make it by morning." I jumped off the ship, landing on the smooth sand. I remembered Anakin had once said he hated sand; this must be torture for him. We began the walk to Jabba's palace keeping our eyes peeled for any signs of the seepies. We were bound to walk into another fight, though I hoped it wasn't for several more hours.

I believe in the healing and therapeutic power of writing. And so, I wrote poems. Poems that I want to share with the world. This is the collection of the poetry that I wrote so far. The poems that may be written in the future, after the collection is out, will also be uploaded.
