《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 61: In the Dark

By the time I woke up, the sun was glaring into my eyes. I squinted as my eyes slowly opened. Stretching my arms, I patted to the left side of the bed, noticing Anakin wasn't there. I quickly sat up; my eyes needed time to adjust to the sun's magnetic rays.
His lightsaber wasn't in his usual place, which was located on the dresser next to mine. Where could he be? I looked back to my right, looking at the small clock on the bedside table. It was still morning; Master Windu must have thought I was still asleep. By now, he would be phoning me, telling me what pointless missions to do.
I got up, stretching my back, closing my eyes in the process, but once opening them, I saw my reflection in the mirror. I was naked; I walked quickly into the dressing room, placing my usual robes on my body.
I did my hair into a bun, washing my face with the faucet water. The memories of last night flooded through my mind, how amazing it was. It had me smiling foolishly at myself in the mirror. Every time I thought about it, I felt my cheeks start to burn up, and my stomach have butterflies.
I walked down the hall walking into the living room. The room had a small fountain with a massive view of the city. It was quite beautiful to stare at. The curtains would hang from large pillars, as were the enormous statues placed in the corners of the room.
Next to the end table of the couch laid a letter. It was small and in an envelope. I wondered who it must be from; no one ever left notes.
Good morning, my love.
By the time you read, I'll most likely be with the Chancellor or Obi-wan. You looked too beautiful sleeping; I didn't want to wake you. If you need anything, you know you can always call, and I'll always pick up. Oh, and about last night, if you ever want to go for round two, CALL.
- Anakin
I closed the letter placing it back onto the table. My cheeks were a bright red, still recalling the moments as they played in my mind.
I shook my head, snapping my thoughts back to reality. I had remembered the discussion between the Chancellor and I a few weeks ago. About the Sith, he didn't go into much detail; he rather only said they were vicious and evil. Hmmm, maybe Anakin is there.

I decided to visit the old man, but first, I needed to check on Padme. She must be worried hearing the news that I've been asleep for almost a whole day, or better yet, she didn't care. Though, I still wanted to see her, even as annoying as she is.
The place Anakin and I had was secretive; no one knew we had a place to ourselves, not even Padme. Which was a risk, knowing she lived a few floors beneath us. So with that, I always had to be careful when I walked down the hallways or even took the elevator.
When I reached her complex, Jar Jar had opened the door before I got the chance to step foot.
"Ah, Master Amidala." Jar Jar shouted. His hands frankly waving in the air. He took me in for a deep and tight hug lifting me in the air. "Hey Jar Jar." I panted. His arms were suffocating my entire body.
He placed me back down, propping me slowly. The air quickly began to fill my lungs again. "Padme in room." Jar Jar commented. I bowed slightly, thanking him in the process while I walked towards her bedroom.
Opening her door was rather surprising. She was fully clothed; her hair was in a long braid. She seemed casual and not overly dressed as she always does every day. Her eyes darted at the sound of the door opening. A wide smile formed on her face as soon as we had made eye contact.
"You're awake!" She shouted. She quickly threw a remote she had in her hand, walking towards my body. Her hug was soft and not as harsh as Jar Jars. "Yeah, I'm awake." I smiled, still in her grasp.
"Master Skywalker told me what happened." She said, concerned. She pulled away a frown placed in her face until it turned confused. "What did he say?" I asked. There was a moment of silence. Her eyes wandered my entire body, making me stand awkwardly as I waited.
"What is that?" She asked. She pointed to her own neck. "What is what?" I looked down towards my neck, trying my hardest to spot any inconvenience. Though, I didn't see anything. I looked back towards her, confused. "You have a purple spot on your neck. It looks super bruised," she commented.
My eyes shot wide open. It was a hickey. "Oh, this?" I placed a finger on the swollen area grunting as I pressed down onto it. "I, uh burned myself straightening my hair." I lied. Little did she know, it was a love bite.

"Then why is your hair in a bun?" She crossed her arms onto her chest. She was smart; my nerves settled over my body—a large hot wave coming in all forms of sizes. I tried my hardest not to panic but felt the tip of my mouth wanting to scream and explain.
"Okay, I didn't want to tell you, but since you asked, I will." I blurted out. My heart and mind were battling against each other. I didn't know if I wanted to tell her anything. I was afraid she be disappointed and tell the Jedi, yes she was family, but Padme was strict on her career path.
"Bane placed a cuff on my neck that zapped me a few times." I lied once more. Her brows were still furrowed. Had she believed the lie I just told her?
"Well, I'm glad you're okay." She smiled.
A weak smile formed on my face. Well, I just saved myself another day.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, Chancellor Palpatine wanted a word. He asked to see you in any case you stopped by." Padme added. She lifted the control she threw moments ago, turning on her tv as she sat on her bed.
I nodded and headed out towards her room. I grabbed my neck, applying pressure to the bruises. I had to be more careful; I was lucky to have met Padme first and not Jedi. I laid my hair on my back again, covering all the areas I possibly could and hoped no one would notice.

Arriving at the Chancellors' quarters was a bit strange. His shadow was standing right outside the door leading to his office. He held his hands behind his back, eying my movements as I approached.
"Ah, Y/n, it's good to see you." His voice was soft and calm.
"Your excellency," I replied, smiling.
He walked towards my body; he placed one of his hands on my shoulder, leading me inside. His office area was empty and silent. My eyes wandered for any sign Anakin had been, but there was none.
"Master Skywalker had made an important arrest in the plot to destroy the Jedi. To think a simple bounty hunter could create such a plan." We reached his massive window that overlooked the city.
"I believe someone else, someone much powerful, was behind this. And I don't think it was Dooku." I replied. Dooku's plans were always a mess, and easy to know when his dirty fingerprints were on. This wasn't his mission.
"Oh? And have you any clues as to whom it may be?" The Chancellor asked. He looked over his left shoulder, his eyes peering into mine. "Not yet." I sighed.
"Have patience, Y/n." He referred. I nodded in response; I was angry. I couldn't quite place my finger on who was behind the mess. The chancellor placed his hand back towards my shoulder, rubbing it as my tension slowly started to fade away.
"Thank you, Chancellor," I added.

I spent the last few hours training with Zander. I hadn't seen that young boy; he had left with Master Yoda to help the younglings acquire their Kyber Crystals. It seemed time had been moving so fast but slow at the same time.
I had a Padawan that didn't really need me. He had the skill and was very talented. Though, he could use some practice on how to communicate.
"How have you been." I panted as we just had a saber practice. He took a sip from his water bottle, pouring a few drops on his forehead. "Well, I wish I could say amazing, but I just miss being on missions." He smiled weakly.
"You have been on my-" I began. "No, missions with you, Master." He chuckled. My mouth formed an 'o' shape followed by an "ah." I scratched the back of my neck, embarrassed I haven't been the best Master to Zander.
"How about you leave Master Yoda for a month and join me on the next one," I suggest. His eyes brightened up, and a large smile soon followed. "Absolutely." He chinned.
"What is the next mission exactly?"
"I'm not quite sure. There seems to be something dark happening in the shadows." I replied. I walked toward the bench, resting my back onto it.
"Dark?"
"It's probably nothing. Just me being crazy." I laughed.
"Probably." Zander laughed back. He walked towards the center of the arena, starting the simulation once again.
The floors from the ground started to lift as well as the sides of the walls. Zander began to jump onto each one, flipping and jumping from platform to platform.
He was such a good kid.

{The Dragon Within} (Completed)
Meeting his fate at the hands of seven great heroes, the wicked drake now stands in Death's hall. Met with the Grim Reaper itself. Defeated and its pride broken, the drake doesn’t beg or grovel, it simply awaits judgement. It waits for the God of the afterlife to send it on its way, to either the heights of bliss and peace or where it knew it would be sent. The depths of agony and torture, the halls of Tartarus, the father of monsters. Grim looked up from its oaken desk and down at the creature that would have otherwise, if grown wiser and older, matched the reaper itself in power. Its faceless guise, hidden by a black hood and whirling shadows, it briefly stared at the drake. “You are unfit for the sky yet also too fit for the abyss,” Grim spoke, its voice a cracking whisper. “Your time came too soon, the actions you have taken will lead your world to ruin…Be reborn, pitiful serpent. Yet remember what you have done, see what your actions have made that realm into. Let me show you, how your greed and gluttony have warped such a wonderful place and time.” Grim raised its black-feathered pen towards the beast “Be reborn, as the weak pitiful creature you should have been born as. Take this both as a punishment and…a learning experience. For failure, can be the best teacher.” The drake took a step back, hoping to escape this cruel fate. Yet none escaped Death, less so its embodiment. Screaming shadows engulfed his form, ripping away at his body and shape. Fangs of darkness sinking deep into his draconic flesh, warping it, changing him into something else… Opening his eyes, the wicked drake felt none of its power, none of its magic and none of its might. As it stood at the edge of a cliff, looking down upon a ruined valley of rot and miasma. It glanced down at itself, seeing none of its sturdy scales or sharp claws. The drake had been reborn... As a Human. Will also be posting on CreativeNovels found here; CrN Where chapters will be posted earlier than RRL.
