"You know your marching order. The safety of The Duchess Satine is of the utmost importance. The Death Watch will stop at nothing to assassinate her before she pleads her case to the Senate." Master Kenobi pleaded. The clones, as well as Anakin and myself, stood in a semi-formed circle. We were all huddled up, awaiting orders and seeing where we might go next.
Weeks had passed since the wedding, about two. Anakin, of course, the next day had to leave again, and I... Well, I did the usual. However, this time I was assigned to lead and follow Master Kenobi and Anakin on a mission. This one was quite interesting.
Rumors had it; Kenobi had eyes for the Duchess of Mandalore.
Who would have thought? The Jedi, whose morals were so high, could be in love. Or at least was in love though I believe he still is.
The Death Watch was a group of Mandalorians who wanted to take over Mandalore.
"Separatists may back the Death Watch, so stay sharp," Anakin commented. He had on his General voice. "R2, use your scanners to probe for any suspicious droid activity," He added.
R2 was standing right beside me. He cheerfully chirped in response to Anakin's request. He wasn't my droid, but he always stuck by my side anytime I was near him.
"Anything else, Sir?" Rex chined.
"No, that will be all." Master Kenobi answered. The troops quickly went their ways. There was a second of silence until Kenobi's intercom link had chirped. "Yes?"
"The duchess and her retinue request your presence." An older man ordered.
"Very well."
Meeting the Satine for the first time? This meeting would be exciting and, most of all, see what kind of taste Master Kenobi likes. We turned around, walking into an elevator that would lead us to the upper floor.
"I sense some anxiety from you about the duchess. She couldn't be in safer hands." Anakin blurted out. The sides of my lips curved upward; Anakin knew precisely the thing I was thinking of. Master Kenobi was nervous and easily presented through the force.
We were stuck in this tiny elevator for the moment, and teasing Obi-Wan was far too good to let pass.
"Yes, I know." Obi-Wan quickly voiced. He stared straight forward onto the doors, not attempting to move any body part. "Then why..." Anakin began but was quickly cut off. "Never mind. It's all in the past." Obi-Wan mumbled.
Anakin's eyebrows stood up. I was amazed he even admitted the truth, well, slightly. "Oh, so you're close to her?" Ani questioned. "I knew her." Obi-Wan blurted. He frowned his brows; he had a face that was full of anger. He was bothered by the question, and it was easily tellable.
"I knew her a long time ago." He added. The doors of the elevator opened, and quickly, he emerged out.

I looked at Anakin's face, which was full-on about to laugh. "Don't get on his nerves." I rolled my eyes, walking in Obi-Wan's direction. "Oh, I will." He chuckled slightly, walking beside me. We walked down a long hallway; the carvings of the walls were elegant and beautiful. We must be reaching her command post, and I couldn't be any more excited.
I wonder if she was a beautiful, human, or even an ugly creature, but stood a beautiful blonde woman upon opening the doors. She wore fabulous attire and was surrounded by food and drinks that passed her way. My mind solely focused on her, and in the room, I had no idea of the conversation that passed.
"You are quite the general now, aren't you, Master Kenobi?" Satine raised an eyebrow. Kenobi bowed in her presence, his eyes locking onto hers. "Forgive me for interrupting, Your Highness. I mean no disrespect." He answered.
"Really?" Satine questioned. "Senators, I presume you are acquainted with the collection of half-truths and hyperbole known as Obi-Wan Kenobi?" the faces of all the senators in the room plastered themselves on Obi-Wan.
"Your Highness is too kind.
"You're right. I am." Satine's eyes flew to the ground. The tension in this room was massive. Anakin and I just stood there watching everything unfold. "Allow me to introduce my fellow Jedi Anakin Skywalker and the talented Y/n Amidala." Kenobi's hands flew in our view.
"Your servant, My lady." Ani introduced himself. He was always so charming, which made me a bit jealous. "At your service," I coughed, smiling in her direction as I quickly bowed.
"I remember a time when Jedi were not generals, but peacekeepers." Satine annoyingly added. Well, that was one way to say hello. She took a glass cup from the tray and sipped it diligently in her mouth. "We are protectors, Highness. Yours, at the moment. We fight for peace." I answered back immediately.
She laughed under her breath, taking a sip from her wine. "What an amusing contradiction." My cheeks start to burn up. Satine was the woman Obi-Wan fell in love with? She's a real hardass, from what I can tell.
"What Master Amidala means is that we are acting at the behest of Your Highness to protect you from the Death Watch and the Separatists who don't share your neutral point of view." Obi-Wan backed me up.
"I asked for no such thing." The Dutchess blurted out.
"That may be so, but a majority of your court did." Kenobi walked further in her direction, just below the steps that led to her bed.
"I do not remember you as one to hide behind excuses." Satine squinted her eyes. Her remarks were fueling his anger. "I do not remember you as one to shrink from responsibilities." Obi-wan hit back. Their argument was heating up, that even one of the senators had to intervene. "I am certain we all agree. Duchess Satine and General Kenobi have proven there are two sides to every dilemma."

Few of the senate members agreed and mumbled onto themselves. "I think multitudes make discord, not food counsel," Satine added.
Obi-Wan walked back towards where we were standing. "There may be two sides to every dilemma, but the duchess only favors hers," he mumbled into our ears.
"A Republic military presence is the only sure defense against the Separatists." Obi-Wan lightly shouted. Here we go again. He marched his way back towards Satine, standing up from her luxurious bed. "Even extremists can be reasoned with," Satine answered. She walked down the stairs, walking towards Obi-Wan as he walked towards her.
"Perhaps, if one can be heard over the clanking of their battle droids." Obi-Wan fumed.
"Ah, the sarcasm of a soldier."
"The delusion of a dreamer."
Their faces were so close to each other; they could probably feel their breaths on each other's chest. I looked back towards Anakin, who seemed to be having a joyous moment. In his hand was a glass of wine. Wine? When in the world did he even have time to grab one.
"Now, let us put politics aside until after dinner." A senate member suggested. "Fine." Both Satine and Obi-Wan blurted out at the same time. The dutchess shoved Obi-Wan on the side of his shoulder, exiting the door to the hallway.
All of us watched her walk out but then resorted our eyes back on Ken-obi. His cheeks were a light pink, he was embarrassed, and I wouldn't blame him. Satine was a fascinating woman, and I know deep inside, she must be angry for other reasons. Obi-wan blamed reasons.
I grabbed the drink from Anakin's hand, making him gasp in surprise. I need a refreshment to cool down from what I had just witnessed. "Hey, that was mine," Anakin exclaimed. "Sharing is caring." I teased, walking out the door. Both Anakin and Master Kenobi followed behind my tracks, discussing what had happened in the room.
"You and Satine have a history." Anakin teased. A sigh came from Obi-Wan's mouth, "An extended mission when I was younger. Master Qui-Gon and I spent a year on Mandalore protecting the duchess from insurgents who had threatened her world." his voice was low and calm.
We walked back inside the elevator that was immediately filled with silence. "They sent bounty hunters after us. We were always on the run, living hand-to-mouth, never sure what the next day would bring." He mumbled.
I stood next to Anakin again while he stood beside us. I knew from Ani's smirk he was about to say something stupid, and I wasn't wrong. "Sounds romantic," Ani commented. His Master's face diverted onto Ani's. Confusion and anger quickly puzzled all over.
"A civil war killed most of Satine's people hence her aversion to violence. When she returned, she took on the difficult task of rebuilding her world alone." Kenobi added. We walked down the hallway; this time, Kenobi led the way as he ranted more of his story.
"You didn't stay to help her?" I asked, intrigued. "That would have been problematic." He opened the door to his small room. Pulling out the chair from the table, leaning his entire body into it. This man had problems on his mind. He looked like a teenage boy who had recently been heartbroken.
"My duty as a Jedi demanded I be elsewhere." His hands laid on his face smearing the sweat that had formed onto his face. I found myself a comfortable spot on his metal bed, and Anakin found his place next to mine on the same bed, though he was somewhat spaced out.
"Demanded? But it's obvious you had feelings for her. Surely that would affect your decision." Anakin preached. His voice was nervous with each word, and I knew he was talking about us in discrete.
"Oh, it did. I live by The Jedi Code." Kenobi answered.
"Of course, as master Yoda says, "A Jedi must not form attachments." I chimed in. I didn't want Master Kenobi to think any less of Anakin or suspect anything was different.
"Yes. But he usually leaves out the undercurrent of remorse." He sat in his chair, his eyes full, staring at the ground beneath us. He was obviously in his feelings but snapped out of it quickly. The intercom on his wrist had entirely diverted our attention. "Yes, Captain?"
"General, somethings wrong with Skywalker's astromech. Scared him real good, sir. I've also lost contact with two of my men." My mind wandered to R2. He was hardly scared of anything; in fact, he was braver than most troops.
"I'm on my way down to assist you." He ended the intercom. If R2 is in trouble, the place I want to be is where he is. "I'll go, Master. If there's something dangerous down there, the clones and I can handle it." I stood up from the bed, my feet hitting the metal floor.
"Ah yes, take Master Skywalker with you." A wide smile grew across Ani's face. "Of course," I replied. I took Anakin's arms harshly, walking out the door. My eyes wandered the hallway before my hand slid down, folding my hand into his. "That's risky," Anakin whispered. "It is."
