《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 75: In the Shadows

Ani and I decided to have a small conversation to help speed up time. We kept walking, following Daughter to Father. We had no idea what we were doing, but we followed anyways. We reached the other side of the mountain, where the season had changed. The leaves were now dark red, and nothing from the holy heaven look we had left.

"Watch out!" Anakin yelled. The rumbling of rocks from far above the mountains came tumbling down, and at that moment, Anakin held onto my waist and Daughters, pushing us forward. The stone had come between me, Anakin, and Daughter from Ahsoka and Obi-Wan.

Quickly Anakin placed his hands on my waist, helping me up from the dirty ground and then helping Daughter, whose response was nothing as expected. "It is forbidden for you to touch me." She said harshly. Ani stepped back, his hands raised in defense. "Sorry, I was just saving your life." He interjected.

"That was my brother's work. You are in great danger. Wait for me. Do not leave this place." she replied. She turned her back, leaving in the opposite direction. Great danger? I was just placed in some danger, and now I'm in it again. "Hey. Wait," Anakin shouted out. He waved his hand, insisting she turned around, although she didn't.

"Y/n, are you there? Are you guys alright?" Obi-Wan's voice came through into my holonet wrist band. "Yeah?" I asked even myself. We all just got stranded in the middle of nowhere on top of a tall mountain that we almost died on. "But our friend here has run off! Go back to the ship and try sending another distress call. We'll follow her and find out how to get off this rock." Ani suggested. He held my arm, talking into the holonet.

"And if this is a trap?" Kenobi asked, concerned.

"Then we're not gonna wait around to find out," Ani answered again, this time speaking closer into my wrist. "Anakin, stop. Wait for us to find another way around and meet you." Obi-Wan had begun to say, but stubbornly, Anakin decided to end the call.

I looked at him, surprised but disappointed at the same time. "What? More alone time for us." He smirked. I rolled my eyes in response; this wasn't the time to fool around. Quickly, the season had changed once again, and from afar, it seemed to be a storm approaching.

"Let's get going." He grabbed my hand, intertwining his fingers in mine. At least at this moment, we had ourselves. We ran up the mountain as the storm had worsened itself over a couple of minutes: strong winds and even lightning we all around us.

"In the cave!" He yelled, pointing into a small opening. We jumped in, looking into the far distance; there was another mountain, and on top was something glowing. "Whoever we're looking for is in that monastery," he commented.

We waited for a while for the storm to settle down, but it seemed like it never did, and as Always, his plans consisted of what I like to call aggressive negotiations. We left the cave we had settled in, running into the direction of the monastery, and as we approached it, the rain and thunder had calmed themselves. This was a place of peace, but there was a presence chilling as we entered it.

An older-looking man was sitting at the front, and all around him was nothing but some creepy statutes. We walked slowly in his direction, wandering our eyes over the whole place. He had a long white beard and wore some robes that were gray and cleaned.

We sat in front of the man our bodies had automatically wanted so. At least it seemed like the right thing to do. "Welcome, my friends." He voiced. His voice was unnatural, and it seemed to echo the ways Daughters' voice had. His eyes were a neon blue, and the way he presented himself was so godly.

"What is it that you want from us," Anakin asked, going straight to the point. "To learn the truth about who you both are, one that maybe you both have known all along, one you must believe to fulfill your destiny." The older man stood up from his chair, approaching Anakins face intensely.

"Enough with the riddles, old man. Tell us what's going on here." I sneered. I got up from sitting defending Anakin, who quickly pulled me to the side of his body. The thunder from the storm had begun once again.

"As you can see, there is nowhere else to go. It is late. You both will be my guest tonight." The man echoed; his hand was held out into a direction that led us to a door.

"Wake up, my son. I must tell you a secret." There was a whisper, a voice that stung my heart deeply. I opened my eyes to find myself in an enclosed room. When did I get here? And where was Y/n?

"Whos there? Who's there, I said!" I asked, panting up from the concrete bed I laid in. I don't remember ever falling asleep; I just remembered walking into the room with an older-looking guy and waking up here.

"It is me, Ani, your mother." I turned around quickly to find my mother standing above me. She held out her arms, insisting I wrap my body into them, "What kind of black arts is this?" I asked, backing up in a hurry. I huddle my body into the corner of the room, surprised to see my mother, who was dead in the same room as I was.

"You're dead." I winced. I hated concluding that my mother was no longer here. "Nothing ever really dies, my son. I have a secret to tell you." She bounced off the bed, approaching my body slowly.

"The tell me." I walked around her body, spacing my body from hers. "Everything you have done, everything you have learned had led you here." I closed my eyes, wanting everything to end. Her voice sounded so much like hers, and all I could think about was the last time I had her in my arms.

"Whatever you are, my mother is... is dead," I mumbled.

"And you blame yourself. Your Jedi training has served you well, Ani, but you are more than a Jedi. Tell me, where id your pain so that I might take it away." She echoed in my ears. The flashbacks that haunted me every night came spiraling, "I was too late to save you. I failed as a Jedi, and I failed you." I sneered through my teeth.

The pain I had forcibly pushed away came back, running into my veins. It was as though I was suffocating, and I couldn't breathe. "How so?" My mother asked. Her palms touched my face the same way she had done was when I was a child.

"I tasted only vengeance when I slaughtered so many to avenge your death." The taste in my mouth was deadly. When I slaughtered the tuskens, I felt power. "It is time you realized that your guilt does not define you, my son. You define your guilt."

"The only love I feel in my heart is haunted by what would happen should I let go," I mumbled. She leaned her head onto my chest, cradling me. "Then it is not love. It is a prison." She whispered, sending chills down my spine. "But I... I have a wife. You never met her, but she is everything to me." I backed away from her body. She wasn't my mother; she was a creature trying to manipulate me.

"She's not your destiny." She sneered. "But I love her!" I yelled back. Her face and voice had turned demonic.

"No! She is a poisoner! She has been lying to you, and you don't realize!" Her eyes were pitch dark. I again moved my body to the other end of the wall, "What are you? And what do you mean?" I was confused. Had she been lying to me? About what?

"I am your fate as she is a mother!" She yelled harshly into my ears. Her figure changed into a gigantic spider and back into my mother. I held up my hand as she quickly disappeared into the darkness.
