《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 88: Too Late

"The Jedi Council and Galactic Senate will be no help to us here," I commented. After a long-awaited pause of them staring into each other's eyes, I knew it wasn't the time to be romantic. As much as I wanted them to have their moment, it was time to move on. I still had a chilling feeling that moved along the bits of my skin. There was something dark that surrounded Mandalore.
I placed my helmet back on, looking both ways of the hall, making sure no one was in sight. "Let's get going." I voiced, walking sneakily in the direction of the elevator. They both followed behind in my footsteps, and it seemed they were both holding hands. I didn't mind; I wasn't much of the perfect Jedi myself. If only they knew what I had in my body, it wouldn't be a pretty outcome.
"I trust you guys have a plan?" Satine asked, still tip-toeing to the elevator. "As always, my dear," Obi-Wan responded. I smiled weakly. The elevator doors quickly opened, and to our surprise, there was a deathwatch guard inside.
Master Kenobi grabbed onto Satine's shoulder, lightly pushing her into the elevator. We both then walked in, standing behind the actual real guard. It was silent and awkward. That was until he broke the silence. "There's no record of a prisoner transfer here." The guard communicated.
"The orders came from upstairs." He replied. I rolled my eyes; that isn't going to work well. I swallowed thickly; I knew it wasn't just going to be this easy, especially with Satine, the Duchess of Mandalore.
"What's the authorization code?" He asked.
"Oh, uh." Obi-Wan stuttered. I rolled my eyes once more, "The authorization code is this." I seethed and proceeded to grab the guard by his head, slamming into the elevator door. That's how you take care of business. I noticed Satine's eyes staring at me. Yeah, she isn't fond of aggressive negotiations.
Upon the doors opening, there in front laid two speeders. "You and Satine take one. I'll take the other." I commented, quickly jumping on one.
"Hey, you!" A voice from behind shouted. I looked back to see another guard. This would be an excellent time to roll out and get the hell out of this planet.
In a hurry, we sped through the city of Mandalore with the Death Watch on our tail. That odd sense of cold seemed to get closer, and I couldn't manage to figure out what it was.
As we approached, our ship entering in a quickie. Blaster shots and bombs came to hit every corner of the ship, and keep in mind; we couldn't use our sabers. Plus, Anakin's ship was a disaster.
Speaking about luck, we didn't have any. The control center didn't seem to work. "Dammit, Ani," I whispered to myself as the sweat from my forehead became heavier. That's when I felt It... the cold; it was right outside the ship.

"We have to contact my sister for help. She'll send reinforcements." Satine suggested as she took a seat. She somewhat seemed to have her cool together, but I knew deep inside she was dying like the rest of us... "Who's your sister?" I asked, still trying to make the dials of the ship work.
"I got it. Fly the ship now!" I yelled, pointing at Obi-Wan. He nodded, taking the ship into the air slowly. I had a bad feeling about this, and I was right. "Brace yourselves!" I yelled, squinting my eyes as bombs and rockets flew right into the ship. Everything began to spin and burn. "We need to leave!" Obi-Wan shouted. He grabbed Satines hand, running towards the exit.
We all flew out of the ship; Satine landed a few feet away from us. Covered in hard burning metal that Obi-Wan had moved so she wouldn't be hurt. I was not so lucky as on the verge of falling but grabbing onto the rails of the docks. My eyes peered onto the two as I saw a couple of body figures walkout from the smoke.
"No, it can't be," Obi-wan said, confused. I raised my eyebrows, and that's when the figure appeared in full color. It was Maul. That cold feeling I had felt was him, after all? I thought he had died back when I was a kid. That Master Kenobi had split him in half and now looking at him in total health was oddly surprising. He had mechanical legs but seemed to move easily fine.
Obi-Wan stood up from the ground, taking his lightsaber in his hand and igniting it. He was too weak, I figured, but I was nervous about what could happen, and yet again, I was right. Maul took Obi-Wan by the throat, wrapping his fingers around his neck. "We meet again, Kenobi. Welcome to my world." Maul commented. His voice was raspy and frightening. I resisted to urge to come out from hiding; I had to think about two other people, the one growing inside and Anakin. My family was the first thing I had thought of.
"There's one more we are missing." One of the guards commented. I held my breath, making sure I wasn't loud enough to be heard.
"Little Jedi, we come to meet again. Ahhh, what a delight, but when I find you and I will... You will suffer the same consequences as my dear old friend, Kenobi." He sneered. I didn't dare move an inch but hung tightly to the bar that saved my life in many ways.
"Take them both to the palace." He demanded, pushing Obi-wan to the others. This was a mission that wasn't meant for me. Padme was right; every second I'm in this mess, the more I'm hurting my child. I was conflicted, I loved being a Jedi, but that wasn't a role I could take on any longer.

I hung on for a few more minutes as they left in a quickie. Pulling myself up, I found three guards searching my whereabouts, and I was right to have had my saber intact. I mean, if we are dealing with a Sith Lord, I might as well have the right to use my saber.
I hid behind a huge metal crate, peering onto the three-guard that were talking about some nonsense. Getting my saber ready in one hand, I quickly came out from hiding, and used the force to push two of the guards down the edge and ignited my saber, and quickly sliced the front of his blaster that he could no longer use.
"Je-" he began to shout but quickly, I stabbed my saber into his chest, making him plummet to the ground. "Well, goodnight," I whispered. I looked to the sides spotting a speeder, and quickly hopped onto it, charging towards the palace. I thought to myself what sort of plan I had in mind. To defeat Maul was something I knew was too hard but could manage to do if I had the right luck.
No, I was crazy; I couldn't take on Maul's army all alone. Perhaps, with Obi-Wan on my side, it would be possible, but he was captured, and everything was up to me.
Arriving, I crept along the sides of the walls, managing to hide away from the guards posted in the front of the long glass doors. I took a long leap onto the sides of the building, getting the perfect view of everyone.
Maul was sitting on his throne chair while Satine was on his side. Fear struck; he had something in mind that wasn't going to please Obi-Wan.
"Your noble flaw is a weakness shared by you... and your dutchess." Maul's voice echoed in the long room. He picked Satine up using the force, taking her into a chokehold. My eyes widened right up; I began to panic.
"You should have chosen the dark side, Master Jedi. Your emotions betray you. Your fear, and yes, your anger. Let your anger deepen your hatred." Maul added. I watched Obi-Wan's emotions; he was dying inside. I closed my eyes, trying to make up what my following actions should be. Going in there wouldn't be smart in many ways.
"Don't listen to him, Obi--" Satine tried to talk, still locked in a chokehold.
"Quiet." Maul's voice chilled my body.
"You can kill me, but you will never destroy me. It takes strength to resist the dark side. Only the weak embrace it." Obi-Wan responded. I knew this was the time to move. I jumped back down, sneaking towards the entrance of the palace, where two guards stood. With the same maneuvers, I had done to the other three, pushing them off the edge was my go-to.
When I had opened the door steadily and quietly, I found Maul enraged. Oh no, Obi-Wan must have said a few words that were in his favor.
"You think you know me? It was I who languished for years thinking of nothing but you: nothing but this moment. And now, the perfect tool for my vengeance is in front of us. I never planned on killing you. But I will make sure you share my pain, Kenobi." Maul seethed through gritted teeth.
He held Satine closer to his left side. I walked along the sides of the walls, bringing myself closer to the front, and as he whipped out a dark saber, I found myself walking towards them but quickly pulled back. My eyes didn't bother even to look back but to look at what lay ahead. The gasps of Satine as the dark saber had entered her chest made my throat scream. "Satine!" I yelled as all their eyes, even Mauls, stared at me; his chilling smile became so wide, it was scary.
Her body slowly fell to the ground, in the grips of Kenobi's arms. "Satine." Obi-Wan cried, grabbing onto the sides of her cheeks. His eyes stared deeply into hers. It seemed he had died a bit inside. Her gaps were the only thing that was heard as she tried her hardest to breathe for air that was stolen from Maul.
"Remember, my dear Obi-Wan. I've loved you always. I always will." She took her last breath, closing her eyes as her body diligently laid to sleep. I felt the burn in my throat as I tried to resist the urge to cry. I felt his pain, but I felt Maul's amusement. His joy to bring him pain enraged me, but there was nothing I could do but watch.
"Do we kill them now, brother?" A yellow Maul commented. I didn't notice he was around until his deep voice became the only sound in the room. "No. Imprison them below. Let him drown in his misery; let them both drown. Take them to their cell to rot." His voice was cold and joyful.
They took the sides of my arms, shoving me harshly towards the doors of the exit.
