《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 99: You Again?

She didn't come back. She didn't want to come back. It left him sad, like a piece of him was missing.
It wasn't the only thing that was out of the ordinary. The Jedi order wasn't the same. On one of Anakin's missions, there were rumors one clone troop had killed a Jedi. A clone trooper whose name was Tup. No one knows exactly why or how it happened. He seemed to have a hatred for the Jedi.
Everything was falling out of place. Maybe Barriss was right; perhaps the Jedi aren't so perfect but are the villains. And Turp has also noticed.
"Have you told him?" Padme asked; she sat on the chair. We decided a little cafe date would be the perfect time to catch up on what had happened the past few weeks since the disappearance of Ahsoka, and with the up-and-coming news.
"No, he's been gone, and quite frankly, telling him over a Holocron message isn't the way I want to tell him," I took a sip of my freshly brewed tea. "I heard about fives. Even when you aren't in the Senate, you hear everything." She leaned back on her chair, looking at the city landscape.
"He was crazy, wasn't he?" She asked. I looked up from the cup I was holding in both my hands.
"I don't know how to classify what crazy is anymore," I replied.
"I heard he thought there was some plot against the Jedi. That, someone or something, was controlling him." She found it delightful—a bit of news to entertain her day.
Anakin had told me all about it. How he watched Fives get shot, and how devastated Rex was. That night was supposed to be the night I would finally tell him everything, but nothing seemed to go as planned.
"I need to get going," I stood up, grabbing my belongings before being stopped. "Remember, Y/n; you only have a matter of months left. You're lucky you're not showing for almost two months."
I rolled my eyes, pulling my wrist out of her grasp. "Understood," I replied before getting back onto the boarding docks. "Senator Amidala, your ship is all ready to set for Scipio." 3PO chanted.
"Thank you, C3PO."
Scipio, it has been a long time since I've been on that planet. Dealing with the banking clan again was something that didn't interest me but was worth going for a good cause.
The war against the Separatists is getting worse day by day. It seems almost every day; everyone is being driven out of their own homes. Their houses are being destroyed by the war, not leaving much to fend for themselves.
Securing aid for those was my number one priority. Being a Jedi or not, it was always my goal to save those who needed saving. Remaining independent with the banking clan was of top priority to help. For the operations to continue, there must not be any war on Scipio. Money was a significant factor that had been worrying the Republic. To save those in need, there must be money.

Scipio was a cold planet, and to say; the banking clan was located on a steep mountain. A shiver ran down my spine as soon as my feet placed themselves onto the metal platform. Immediately greeted, a fake smile appeared on my face.
"Welcome to Scipio, Senator. If you follow me, we will be traveling into the neutral zone."

I bowed down to whoever it was that greeted me. I wasn't the best at being polite or remembering names. For all, I know that was Padme's role. She was a different kind of senator, apart from myself. However, I got the job done in every single thing.
Walking up a few flights of stairs before reaching the gigantic doors of the banking clan, we were stopped. "I am afraid your guards will have to wait outside." He insisted.
I peer over my shoulder. "Of course," I smiled, nodding so that they may head back onto the ship. I didn't need guards, I knew how to handle myself, but part of being a senator meant I got my guards.
The doors of the bank dramatically opened, and the bright roof lights made the inside look intimidating. Teckla and I looked at each other surprised and on our feet. Teckla was one of Padme's assistants passed down to me. However, Teckla and I were always close. Ever since I was small, she would help me with all the little things I couldn't do.
The banking clan was massive and went stories high. I was taking the elevator I was destined to be in front of the official members of the clan to settle negotiations.
"As a council of five, we are honored but surprised that you have traveled all this way for a mere bank transfer." The middle official banking clan member spoke on a giant vertical screen.
"A transfer that has not been forthcoming. By request of the Supreme Chancellor, I am here to expedite matters." I replied. I look back towards the entrance of the door seeing Teckla, a safe comfort I needed.
"Of course. We would merely request that you meet with our special representative, who will go over the terms and conditions of your loan." He commented.
The metal doors swung open from behind, and to my surprise, my eyes landed on no one other than Clovis. The last time I had seen his face was when I had become poisoned and destined to die.
He didn't change one bit.
"Senator Amidala." He greeted, trying his hardest to be as smooth as possible. "Clovis." I furrowed my brows, confused.
"You two know each other?" One of the banking clan members asked. I looked back onto the council and back onto Clovis. "Sir, I was assured that this transaction would be free of prejudice and partisan allegiance. This man is a known Separatist and traitor to the Republic." I pointed, not looking back onto his face.
"Y/n." he tried, but I didn't have it.
"I can assure you, Rush Clovis is our most trusted and best negotiator." The council replied.
The most trusted and best negotiator? I huffed under my breath; that's a surprise that would surprise anyone. "I'm sorry, gentlemen, but I insist this man be removed from these negotiations. Until then, we have nothing further to discuss." I voiced.
I didn't waste any second longer. Not leaving any gap in between so that Clovis could say whatever it was to get back on my good side.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
It was dark, and the only thing to do was wait until the following day to get off Scipio. There were no negotiations to be done if Clovis was the person to make them happen. He always had some trick up his sleeve, and I wasn't going to make a mistake according to the situation at hand.

The breeze felt nice, but it's not a place I would live. The moon, however, was brighter than ever. And from our pen balcony was the fantastic view of ships and buildings—a pleasant way to spend one last night here before heading home.
"Y/n, let's discuss what is going to happen if you choose not to have Clovis as your partner," Teckla said, making my head spin around in the direction of the living room. It was a way to pass the time. However, I didn't know of any possible solutions, but just one, to get a new partner.
"My lady no longer requires your assistance this evening. Thank you." Teckla informed the banking clan assistant, who was still in the room. He nodded and proceeded out of the room.
As he did, I felt an odd presence, one that made the backside of my body chill. It was closer than I had imagined.
"My lady! Watch out!" Teckla screamed as she pointed her index finger to the back of the room, facing towards the balcony I was just on. And in that quick second of alertness, my hand reached down to the belt of my dress, pulling out my saber and igniting it.
"I would stop right there if I were you," I commented, holding the blade right up to his chin... Only to find Clovis above it. My saber wasn't the ideal weapon for a senator, but it was the only weapon I was used to and the only one that made me feel comfortable.
Clovis stood there, hands right beside his face, and not a mere look of embarrassment swiped his face. "Ah... how did you get the lightsaber into the neutral zone?" he asked kindly and softly.
"We're resourceful," I replied, still holding the blade next to his tiny little chin hairs.
"Now, why are you breaking into my quarters?" I demanded.
"Y/n you don't understand what is going on here. I need your help." He replied. He looked sincere, but yet again, all the other times he wanted to be, he never went through with it. It was one of the many reasons we never lasted.
I scoffed, "Last time you needed my help, I ended up poisoned, and you did nothing." I seethed between my teeth. The lightsaber was still in my hand and ignited. I was furious; he did nothing but see me casually lying on my bed awaiting my death. It was Anakin who saved me. He always does.
"That's not true. You stole data files from me." He sneered. I jokingly smiled, "Those files revealed that a Separatist droid factory that was sponsored by you." This time my lightsaber moved from underneath his chin and made it up next to his cheek. He moved back.
"Can you put down your lightsaber and let me talk," he demanded, looking at the tip that glowed his left cheek.
"Even if I put it down, it doesn't mean I can't easily bring it back to your face." I stared deeply into his eyes before retracting the blade and bringing the hilt back into my belt and wiping off any dust left on the shoulders of my coat.
"It's not safe here, Y/n. We need to talk somewhere else." His body came inches apart from mine. His green eyes stared into mine as if he was afraid of something being able to hear him; For the second time, fear struck into his eyes.
He turned his body back to the balcony walking towards the edge.
"Senator, I don't think--" Teckla started. A soft smile formed on my face, "it's alright. I want to hear what he has to say." I began to walk towards the edge of the balcony as well, where his elbows leaned.
His face turned as my body stood next to his. His face almost immediately inched its way towards mine, but not leaning in for a kiss, instead of leaning in just enough, so the conversation stayed between us.
"The simple fact is the economics of this war are not adding up. You're here for a bank transfer. But I can assure you; there is no money in the bank."
My face instantly pulled itself upward. No money in the bank!
"That's absurd. They were ready to give me the funds today." I claimed.
"Oh, they will give you your first installment, yes, but they're robbing one side to save the other. The entire Banking Clan is on the verge of collapse." He sprung out once again.
Collapse? It seemed Clovis always had some trick up his sleeve.
"Where's the evidence?" I questioned.
"In the vault. The accounts are sealed in there, and no one is allowed to see them besides the Core Five."
I questioned everything once again. If this is true, it will spark more trouble.
"Convenient," I whispered to myself.
"Well, now that you're here, you must put pressure on them," Clovis concluded. Pressure on them? Of course, yes, he asks again.
"And do what?" I asked. His face inched its way closer to mine. Turning my head slightly the opposite way, I could still feel his breath next to my cheek. "Help me gain access to the vault."
"You're insane to think I would ever trust you again." I pushed his entire body off of mine. I was keeping a few feet between us again. I stared at him coldly, but he didn't seem to return the nature that appeared on my face. He still had a warm neutral tone whenever he looked at me.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot help--" I froze instantly. A shiver ran through my entire body.
"Get down now!" I yelled, pushing Clovis onto the ground when a Sniper blaster ran right across my front face. Clovis's pathetic cowardness crawled right next to my body. We both crouched under the ledge of the balcony, seeing the blaster shots hit the wall above us.
"Get your hands off me!" I shouted as I felt both his hands wrapped around my waist.
I crawled back into the living room area, hiding behind a huge pillar.
"I risked everything to tell you this. Don't you see they're trying to kill me because of what I know?" Clovis grunted as more and more blaster shots came straight towards our bodies until they had stopped all at once.
He got up from the balcony ground, looking around before his eyes stopped on my body.
"Please believe me. Our past must count for something. I can't stay here. Think about what I ask." Clovis said as he jumped over the balcony.
I stood there in silence; maybe trusting him once more would be okay.
