《Billy Hargrove imagines》March 23, 1985

You had been warned about him before. The things people had said about weren't always the best but, you learned a long time ago not to judge a book by its cover. You knew he wasn't perfect but, neither were you, so, maybe you would be perfect for each other.
Apparently, when he asked you to the spring dance that was very "un-Billy" of him. A group of girls stopped you in the hallway, they told you "Ya know you're super lucky, right? Billy doesn't give 2 shits about these dances but, then all of sudden he asks you. What's your secret, huh? Did you blow him in his camaro and then tell him you needed a date?". Their nosey behavior was annoying and you just walked away, a little miffed about the question they asked you.
The question made you think about when Billy asked you. You knew that Billy wasn't one to go to school events that weren't his basketball games. So, it was kind of weird that he asked you to the dance.
Flashback
You met Billy a week before the dance, it was the start of a new semester, and he chose to sit by you in back. You had never talked to him before but, he was gorgeous so, you weren't really bothered by his choice.
A week went by, you had mentioned to your friend, Connie, at lunch that going to the dance would had a date, your friend was always trying to get you to go to school dances. That's when you said that if you had a date then, you would go. You didn't think you would get asked literally a week before the dance, you also did not think that Billy freaking Hargrove would ask you.
End of flashback
You really did like Billy though, that was something that you had made clear to Connie. She thought that Billy would use you and then leave you, you had tried to reassure her that she doesn't know Billy, that is when she decided to remind you that when it came to Billy, you knew less than she did. It was a fair point, even though you didn't know him very well, you were willing to take the time to get to know him.

The day of the dance was here, March 23, 1985. Your mom was curling your hair, while you were trying to find the perfect shade of red lipstick to match your dress.
"So, Y/N, tell me about Billy.". Your mom had been curious to know who the boy behind the camaro was. She had seen his car around Hawkins before but, she had never seen him with family or friends, other than Tommy H which worried her.
"He's from California, him and his family moved out here to start over, I guess? His dad married Susan and she has a daughter named Max, I think she's 14. Billy's really smart, nice, polite, I don't really know him too well. He kind of just asked me to the dance during class and you know how Connie is so, I thought why not?". You shrugged hoping that was a good enough answer.
"You know, I saw him hanging around that boy, Tommy, is Billy anything like him? Because, if he is, then I wish you would've said no." You could tell she was worried.
"He's different than Tommy. I would never go to a dance with someone like Tommy. Billy's great, he's very nice to me, he has Connie's seal of approval!". Okay so, maybe Billy didn't have Connie's seal of approval but, a little white lie never hurt anybody. You heard your mom give a content sigh as she went back to curling your hair.
At around 7:30 Billy came to pick you up. Your parents loved Billy. You took a few pictures before you left and when Billy promised to bring you home before midnight you left.
"Billy, can I ask you something?" You saw Billy nod in response.
"What do you wanna know?" He turned his head to look at you for a second before putting his eyes back on the road.

"Why did you ask me? Don't get me wrong I am so glad we're going to the dance together but, we don't talk a lot and we don't really know each other so, why me?" You were genuinely interested in what he would say.
"Okay, there's a few reasons why I asked you. One of them is that you're hot, I'm not gonna deny it, that's why I sat by you. The next one is that you're one of the nicest people in Hawkins, you're not fake nice like everyone else either, you're actually really nice. The last one is that I have the shittiest reputation, it's probably never been worse than it is right now, but, you ignore my shit reputation. I heard you talking to your friend, Connie, that's her name right? Anyway, I heard her tell you shit about me but, you said that you really liked me. So, I thought either you were crazy or stupid but, you aren't. Even though you are told all this bad shit about me, you like me for me." He just shrugged, after a second of you not responding, he started to look worried.
"Why would I trust the people at Hawkins? From what I know about you is that you aren't as bad as everyone says you are. So, far you've been really great and I'm very glad you asked me to be your date to the dance, oh, and I think you're hot too."
That night you and Billy danced until your feet hurt. He took you home at 11:45, just before midnight. You could tell that this would be the first of many dates with Billy.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
