Everyone thought that Billy wanted you because you were dating Steve Harrington. Which wasn’t completely true. He thought you were extremely attractive, smart, and you were kind to everyone, even Billy, and he had punched Steve in the face more than once. You were different than everyone in Hawkins.

It killed Billy every time he saw you and Steve holding hands in the hallway or even look at each other in class. Billy so desperately wanted to ask if you even liked Steve. He knew it was wrong and the way that you and Steve would look at each other meant that you both really loved each other.

Whenever you were around Billy his heart pound so loud and so hard that Billy was sure that you could hear it. Then he would see you and Steve look at each other and his heart would stop pounding as hard.

Billy had heard that you and Steve had gotten together at some girl’s summer kickoff party. Which made him think that if Neil had made them move to Hawkins during the summer, like he planned then, he might have had a chance with you. He was sure that if he had moved to Hawkins before you and Steve started dating then it would Y/N and Billy, holding hands, and stealing glances during class.

Billy wasn’t sure if he really, really, really liked you or if he loved you, when he was younger his mom his mom teased him when he said that he really, really, really liked his chocolate ice cream that if he really, really, really, liked it then that meant he probably loved it. Billy had been thinking about that day for awhile, he wonder if he actually loved you. What if he did? There’s nothing he could do about it, you were with Steve and no matter how much Billy hated Steve he couldn’t bring himself to ruin your relationship like that.

Billy just really wanted you to know that he loved you. He wanted to tell you every time he saw you but, then he would see the happiness radiating from you whenever you had kissed Steve or even held his hand. Billy just really wanted you to know that he loved you but, he could see the love that you had for Steve and he just couldn’t bring himself to tell you.

Billy had noticed that you weren’t fond of public displays of affection. He saw the way you reacted when Steve would turn a simple peck on the lips into a passionate, attention grabbing kiss. One time Steve tried to give your butt a slight squeeze but you quickly swatted his hand away and mumbled something like “Not here”. Billy also noticed that Steve was always more affectionate whenever he was around. Billy understood that, he would do the same if he was in Steve’s position.

Billy went to California when he graduated, he was trying to get you out of his head. He had been back home in California for a couple months when Max called asking if he would come back to Hawkins to help her shop for a dress to wear to some wedding, he reluctantly agreed and head back to Hawkins.

What Max didn’t tell him was that it was your wedding and that you were marrying Steve. You had invited Billy to your wedding, you even asked Max if Billy would want to come, Max told you that she would try but, “no promises”.

Billy finally arrived in Hawkins, it made him feel good that he Hawkins haven’t changed much. When he went to pick up Max, she ran out of the house and got in his camaro. He made the mistake of asking whose wedding she was going to and when he heard you mumble out his name, he had a rush of emotions, he was happy for you, then he was upset that you weren’t marrying him, then he was kind of numb.

You were marrying Steve Harrington, not him. He always wished that you and him would be the one tearing up as you said your vows, he always wished that you would be called Y/N Hargrove but, he here is watching you as you walk down the aisle, watching as you say your vows, watching as Steve slips the ring down your finger, watching as you kissed Steve. You were happy and even though you weren’t with Billy, he wished you and Steve a lifetime of happiness.
