Seungwoo's POV
I enter the school gates and hear the familiar whispers I hear every single day, and as if it's a repeating voice recording in my head already.
"Kwon Giera from Class 12-A looks so beautiful as always!"
"She's also very nice! She complimented how pretty my makeup is today!"
"Ah, I just love her personality! I saw her giving bottled water and biscuits to a beggar when I was on my way to school earlier!"
"As expected of the kind-hearted Kwon Giera. No doubt everyone respects her!"
I walk past the other students crowding around Kwon Giera. But despite the fact that I did that, I also respected her for her actions though I do have a crush on her. I just don't have the nerve to tell her since she is very popular so there are also other boys that like her as well.
I walk in the classroom and sat down on my seat. There were only a few people in the room. The others would be either talking to their friends or probably where Giera would be.
We used to be friends before but ever since we moved to this school together, she became popular and our relationship suddenly faded.
I'm still in the same class as her so I wonder if she would still remember how close we were. I've liked her for almost 2 years. I tried my best to keep it to myself as long as I can. Though I really just want to say it.
I'm not as popular as her but I also have some friends and I'm known around the school. But she's more popular than me.

After class ended, I checked my phone. But then I noticed, I was part of the cleaners for that day.
"Hey, guys we're assigned for cleaners today!" I said to my other classmates, Hanse and Byungchan. "Huh, what?" Hanse asks as if he was clueless.
As he finishes his sentence, Byungchan slowly walks towards the door.
"Byungchan!" I said as both of them ran together leaving the room. I tried chasing them but I know they really are the laziest people in the world so I let them be.
I slowly went back to the room and I realized Giera was still inside, fixing her stuff. I ignored her presence as I walked past her and got a broom.
"Do you need a hand?" She asks me so I shook my head signaling that I don't need help. "Are you sure?" Her tone suddenly changes into a much more friendlier tone.

It's been a while since she talked comfortably to me like this. I heard her chair scratch on the floor as she stood up. She grabs a mop and starts cleaning as well. It was a quiet yet relaxing atmosphere until I spoke up.
"Does it feel nice to be popular?" I asked, trying to start a conversation. It was just silence for a few moments, she's probably thinking of an answer.
"Not at all," She simply says. "Why not?" "I may be smiling all the time when there would be people with me, but I really didn't like the attention at all." She explains.
"Sorry for asking," I reply apologetically. "No, I was waiting for someone to ask that. Since I can't say it straight to the point because I'm scared."
"Then why not tell your friends?" I asked. "I don't have any," She replies. I was shocked that she said that. She probably didn't have friends due to the reason for her popularity.
"You can trust me," I reassured. "Well, you did..." I said disappointingly. "I'm sorry about that, I was so happy ever since people came close to me I actually forgot about you. I'm so stupid." She says as she hits her head.
"Don't say that, I understand," I said trying to make her less regretful. "I guess there's no turning back, I can't change what I became anymore." Hearing the regret in her tone.
"You can't change that, but you can tell them," I said positively. "How?" "Be my friend," I replied. "So how will that work?" She asks as she stops mopping and turns her attention at me.
"Trust me,"

Giera's POV
"Giera!" I heard my name from the distance as I turned my head. I saw Seungwoo waving at me happily as I walked towards him. "What?" I asked, confused. He doesn't say anything but he puts his arms around my back and clings to my shoulders.
I felt my cheeks heat up at his sudden action. I stood quietly as we walked in the campus.
People started staring at us though I didn't mind them. Some were whispering to others while some had judgemental looks on their faces.
I turned to Seungwoo as he was walking like he didn't see the people around him. I just looked in front and walked normally with him.
Surprisingly, there wasn't anyone in the classroom yet. We sat down next to each other. He lays his head on his desk and stares outside the window.

"Are you still thinking about being friends with me again?" He asks. I hummed in response. "Why?" He looks at me as we make eye contact that made me uneasy. I just shrugged at him.
As I exited the school gates I felt someone's arms wrap around my arm tripping me off a bit.
"What are you doing?" I asked Seungwoo while he was being childish. "I'm hungry, let's eat somewhere." He cutely says in an aegyo voice and pulls me in the opposite direction.
I can't let go because of his strength so I just followed him. He pushes the door leading to a bakery. My eyes didn't know where to look since the place had a rustic feel and there were different kinds of stuff hanging and placed on shelves, it just looked amazing.
"What do you want to order?" I asked him as he scanned the menu placed on the counter. "I just want a croissant," He says. "I'll have an Americano," I said to the cashier as she bows and leaves to make our orders.
"Why didn't you buy food?" He asks. "I'm not hungry," I said as I was scrolling through my social media. "Then why did we go here?" "Because you dragged me here," I said feeling annoyed. "Okay," He says weirdly and looks at his phone as well.
The waiter puts our orders on the table and thanked him. I sipped my coffee while Seungwoo eats his croissant as well.
His phone's message tone rings as he looks at it. His eyes widened and he stands up from his seat. "What is it?" I asked curiously. "I'm sorry," He places money on the table and left in a fast pace.
"Your bag is open!" I screamed before he left. "I'll close that later." He replies and ran off. Before he disappeared out of my sight, I saw something fall off from his bag. I went near it and picked it up. I placed it in my pocket since it might be something private.
As I finished drinking my coffee, I used my own money to pay and kept his money so I could return it to him tomorrow.
I walked back home as the sky was turning darker. The paper suddenly got to my thoughts as it made me curious. I wanted to see it so badly but I had to keep it private.
I thought of it for so long that it was so intriguing. I ended up opening it as I got shocked by reading the first phrase: 'Dear Kwon Giera,' I continued reading the long note.
'We have been friends ever since we were young. As we got older, I felt that we became closer every single time. My heart keeps telling me 'She's the one' but I didn't just want to tell you. I'm such a coward to actually tell you this in person. It's been two whole years since I liked you, and I still do. If you don't like me, it's fine. This may break our friendship but if you find someone better than me, then I'll be happy for you. I just want you to be happy.
- Han Seungwoo'
I stopped at my tracks as I read the note. I teared up a bit reading the last few sentences. I didn't actually see his feelings before. I was so blind and I was so downhearted by the fact that I took him only as a friend. I wanted to make it up to him.

I had my heads down on my desk waiting for Seungwoo to come. As I stood by, I heard the door creak open. I held my head up and spotted him. He sat down as I took out his money from yesterday and placed it on his table.
"This is yours," I said. He silently took the money and kept it in his pocket.
"You liked me didn't you?" I asked him as his eyes enlarged. "What do you mean?" he replies acting clueless. "Just spill the tea, I know everything," I said. "Spill what?" He kept his cool as he was acting out. I knew him better than anyone does. Mostly when he's lying.
Since he didn't say it, I had to take out the evidence. As I lifted it up, he snatches it from my hand and he reads it.
He slowly puts it on his desk and keeps his down. "I didn't love you, I love you," He emphasizes the do meaning he still likes me.
I hugged him as I felt him jump from my gesture. He didn't hesitate and hugged me back. From that moment, I really do hope that we would last long.
