《victon imagines》sejun - a deal with the devil [ pt.2 ]

---
Sejun's POV
"Deal," Y/N say in unison. With that, a large flash of light consumes us and takes us out of our recent spot.
I was taken aback as I sat on a chair, waking up from a nap. "Hey, wake up," Byungchan shakes me after feeling like I took nap in class. "Huh?" I opened my eyes and looked around. Looking at the clock, it was the last period class.
"Let's go to class 8-3 after this," I told Byungchan, confusing him. "Why?" He wonders. "Are you gonna do something after class?" I ask him, making him nod. "I'll go on my own then," I said.
The bell rang, making the teacher wrap up the class. I went out first and looked for Y/N in her classroom. I guessed they were dismissed early, seeing Y/N and a few other people left in the room.
"Sejun!" She notices me as soon as I stepped in, making me wave back. "I was about to go to you first but here you are," She says, zipping her bag. "Anyway, do you have any ideas?" I asked her.
"Yeah, it's simple. Come to the party with me," She faces me. "Then what?" I ask further. "That's for us to find out," She replies, making me nod.
"What if we take Sihyeon with us?" I suggest. "I heard she's going with her friends," She answers. "Let's just look over her from afar," I said, making her nod. "That's the least we could do," She replies.
the night of the party
Y/N's POV
Sejun and I entered the huge house, main lights closed yet colorful party lights were lit. It looks like it was completely converted into a night club.
"Y/N! You're kinda late. I told you, I should've driven you here," Hyeon appears out of nowhere. "You can never be late for a party. I got here anyway," I replied, making her nod.
"Hey uh, who's the hot guy?" She whispers, making me slap her shoulder. "A friend," I replied. She looks at us with a very judgy face but lets go of it soon.
"Since you're with that hot dude, I'll go with someone else. Text me, I'll drive you home later!" She says and quickly walks away before I could answer.
She's gonna get drunk and never drive me home anyway.
"What'd she say?" He asks, turning to me. "Oh, you didn't hear our conversation?" I ask, making him nod. "Okay, good," I just said, making him confused.
"Do we find for Sihyeon now?" He asks. "Yeah, let's split up," I told him and we started going in different directions.
The house was large enough that after passing through just three rooms made me quite exhausted. Also considering the crowds in every room. Despite that, I didn't spot Sihyeon anywhere.
I decided to ask people if they seen her. A tall guy whom I came up to at the kitchen said she was at the balcony. On my way there, I happened to cross paths with Sejun.
"Sejun! I think I know," I call him, making him immediately follow me as I ran. We managed to find the balcony at the highest floor, resulting to draining our energy.
"Have you seen Sihyeon?" Sejun asks a guy, guessing he knows that person. "There," The guy points across the room. We went through the door and saw some other people.
"Y/N! How'd you know I'm here?" Hyeon says with open arms, clearly drunk.

Right, she's also named Sihyeon. I keep calling her Hyeon I forget her real name.
"I don't see her," Sejun says, scanning the room. "I think he meant this Sihyeon," I said, pointing at Hyeon who was pulling me into a hug. "Oh," Was all he said.
I took Hyeon's arms off me and we left the room. "Did you see her?" The guy from a while ago asks. "Nope, different Sihyeon. We're looking for Jang Sihyeon," Sejun says.
"Oh I thought you meant Son Sihyeon. I saw Jang Sihyeon leave with a few guys alongside Jinsung." He explains while swinging the can of beer in his hand. "Really? Where?" I ask.
"I overheard a record shop's rooftop, but I'm not quite sure," He replies. "The alleyway! The record shop with the purple LED sign," Sejun says, ringing the bell.
"You're right! Let's go," I said. "Thanks by the way," Sejun says, knowing I already went away.
[♡]
Sejun and I made our way to the familiar alleyway, looking for the purple lit sign. Almost making it to the other side, we found the place we were looking for.
As I opened the glass door, there wasn't anyone in the shop. We looked around if there was anyone inside. "Yes?" Someone asks, coming from the rooftop stairs.
"Are you looking for something? Or maybe someone?" The guy suspiciously asks. He looked like a senior, probably knew that Sejun is Sihyeon's boyfriend. Sejun and I looked at each other with confusion.
From the corner of my eye, I see two other men come running towards us with something in hand. I hastily look and see them about to hit us with baseball bats.
"Duck!" I tell Sejun as I ducked, yet he didn't get my signal on time. I managed to dodge but Sejun got hit in the head, badly hurt. He drops on the floor, holding onto the area on his head.
After they managed to take him down, the three of them now faced me. They slowly took steps forward until my back hit the wall. I tried to look around and found nothing.
I'm probably going to die here.
Instinctively, I kicked the one in the middle and quickly tried to steal the bat from his hand. Before I could attack, the other two hit me in the chest yet I didn't flinch much.
I hit the other one at his side while I could, making him fall to the ground and started bleeding. Before I could notice, the other one hit me at the back with the bat.
I fell back onto the wall and slowly fell. He was about to hit me again until Sejun swept his feet, making him fall on his head. "Behind you!" I said, pointing behind him to the one I kicked earlier.
The man forcefully pushed Sejun to the side with a punch. He fell onto the ground once again. I tried getting up but the impact on my head was too much.
Almost losing consciousness, I noticed two of them were beating Sejun until he lost consciousness. After that, they approached me yet I already closed my eyes before I could witness their violence.
Sejun's POV
Pain ran through my body as I opened my eyes. I felt the cold wind of the rooftop brushing through my open wounds. My movements were restricted, looking down to see myself tied to a chair.
Looking to my right, I noticed Y/N in the same situation. She was slowly waking up after a few minutes. "Where are we?" She asks, trying to open her eyes. One was already shaded purple, making her unable to see properly with that eye.

"The rooftop," I replied with a raspy voice. "We have to get out of here," She says, looking around the place to find anything useful. I tried looking as well, until we heard the door creak open.
"Look who's awake," Seungsik, one of our seniors, comes up to us. "What do you want?!" I asked, raising my voice. "I think I'm supposed to ask that question," He replies, coming forward.
"How did both of you know we were here?" He questions with an eyebrow raised. Y/N and I just kept our mouths shut. "Answer me!" He screams, slapping me across the face. "You're not going to answer me?" He asks in anger.
"Fine, I'll have to make you talk," He says, scaring me. Two guys in hoodies came in, dragging in Sihyeon who had bruises all over. "What did you do to her?!" I ask, a tear dropping from my eye, stinging the scars on my cheek.
"Look, I didn't want to do this. I was just paid to do this," Seungsik starts. The two men forcefully dropped her to the ground. "Then who asked you?" Y/N questions. "Why should I tell you?" He asks Y/N with a smirk.
"Then why her?" She asks with anger in her eyes. "Because Sejun over here kept sticking to her, someone got sick of it," He replies. I was so clueless as I tried guessing who it would be.
From behind the two guys, I noticed Sihyeon trying to get up. Even with her hands tied, she managed to take off the other guy's hoodie. "Byungchan?!" Y/N and I say in unison.
"Ugh, seriously?" Seungsik says upon realizing what happened. He comes up to Sihyeon and kicked her down. "Byungchan did it-" Sihyeon says before getting her mouth getting covered by Seungsik.
"Why?" I asked in anger. Byungchan just put his head down in regret. "Answer me!" I said, furious.
"Because you were always sticking with Sihyeon! I was okay with that but as time passed, you stopped hanging out with me so I had to hung out with others I didn't want to. I helped you get together with her but after you got into a relationship, you slowly forgot about me. When you asked for my help, I was more than happy since you finally wanted to be with me. But I realized you took me for granted, after you get my help you go back to her. And when I asked for your help, you were never there. You always had excuses with Sihyeon! Sihyeon this, Sihyeon that... I'm already sick of her name!" He rants, almost losing his breath.
"I- never meant to," I couldn't seem to form a sentence. "Okay, that's cute. Who do you want to go first?" Seungsik comes up to Byungchan. "Sejun," Y/N says out of nowhere. "Are you crazy?!" I asked her in a soft voice. "Trust me," She replies.
"No!" Sihyeon screams. "I'll go first," I replied. "You heard him," Seungsik says to Sihyeon. Seungsik and the other guy came up to me and started untying the ropes. They lifted me off the seat and dragged me to the edge.
"Any last words?" Seungsik asks before they could throw me off. "Run!" Y/N says from behind. While the two of them were distracted, I found time to get off their grip and made a run for it. I followed behind Y/N and Sihyeon as we went down the flight of stairs.
"How did you escape?" I asked Y/N as we ran. She showed me her bracelet with a broken off metal part. "Nice," I replied.
We made it down to the side of the building. "Ah!" We heard Sihyeon scream from behind. We look back and saw her get caught by Seungsik. Upon realization, we reached a dead end. "Looks like it's the end for the three of you," Seungsik says as they went forward.
"No it's not," Y/N says confidently. "Where are you gonna run?" Seungsik questions. "We found the killers," Y/N says, locking eyes with the two. In between us, dark dust swirls around making both sides step away.
"Who the hell is this?" Byungchan asks with confusion. "So you're the ones," The devil comes forward to the three of them. "Let go of her," He says to them. They just stood there, unable to respond.
He motions his hand, forcing Sihyeon to come back to us. I held her beside me as we looked. "Before you could take her, I'll take your souls first," The devil says to the other two.
"I'll spare you," He says, pushing the other hooded one away. "Why him?" Seungsik asks in anger. "You blackmailed him into this," He exposes him, making us look at each other in surprise. Out of the blue, both of them started running away.
He stops both of them by a motion of his hand. Their souls were forcefully taken out and their bodies dropped. Their bodies then turned to ashes and went away by the wind. "Our deal has been made," He faces us and disappeared in thin air.
Right after, I received a call from an unsaved number so I put it in speaker mode. "Hello?" "Hey I forgot to say this since it wasn't part of the deal. I won't erase you and Y/N's memories so about what happened should stay only between the two of you or you'll perish. Although Sihyeon's memories gets erased. Have a good day!" The devil says through the phone.
"The fact that I want to be friends with the devil has crossed my mind," Y/N comments, making me nod. "That sucks," Sihyeon says after knowing what'll happen to her.
Y/N's POV
Things started getting weird during the week. Byungchan and Seungsik were reported dead because of suicide at the building. What we saw the other night was probably an illusion, or maybe the other way around. But we're not so sure.
Sihyeon only remembered being at the party the entire night. Yet Sejun and I remained with those events lingering in our minds.
"You're back!" I said as soon as I saw Sejun come into the lobby. "Yeah," He said as he came up to me. "You're okay now?" I asked him as we walked through the hallway. "Kinda," He replies.
"How about Byungchan? Weren't you guys close?" I asked. "Of course I regret that. I never knew he'd be one of the killers," He starts. "Although what he said before was kind of exaggerated. We just met this year so he was feeling too close. He probably didn't have the nerve to get close with others so he sticked with me the entire time. I can't blame him though." He adds.
"He could've just told you though! Instead of taking Sihyeon's life," I comment. "Exactly, he was a little too attached to me I noticed it was getting too much," He replies. "Anyway, what's done is done," I said, making him nod.
"Hold on," He says, taking out his phone, probably had a call. He talked with someone while we walked around. After a few minutes, he ends the call. "Seriously?" He says in an annoyed tone.
"Who is it?" I asked in curiosity. "Sihyeon said she wanted to just be friends and said I was acting too fond of her," He says, folding his arms. "If only she knew what happened that night this wouldn't have happened," He adds.
"Why don't you ask for a second chance?" I suggested. "That was the second chance. And no, I'm not asking for a third one," He says. "I was getting tired of the relationship anyway," He says, looking slightly fake.
"Are you sure?" I asked him, seeing him hide his feeling. He then hides his face in his hands and started sobbing. "Come on, don't cry now. You've been crying for an entire week now," I told him, although he didn't stop.
"Okay fine, I'll give you some time. Just... think of her as someone for your character development," I tried lifting his spirits. "She said friends anyway, I guess it's fine," He says, wiping away his tears.
"You still have me," I said with an odd smile. "You're right," He says, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "From now on, if the devil asks for a deal, I'd rather perish," He says.
"Well said," I replied.

Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
