The four of them were in a car, on their way to Ajak's house.
By the time they arrived, it was dusk.
Sersi entered the house.
"Hello?"
She called out.
"Ajak?"
Y/N looked around.
The wind whistled, catching their attention to a back door.
Sersi started running.
"Ajak!"
Sersi yelled.
The three behind ran over.
Sersi squatted on the ground, afraid of her mother-like figure being gone.
Thunder rumbled, and lightning glew in bright streaks, scratching the sky.
All except Ikaris were in tears.
Sprite dropped to her knees.
"It was a Deviant."
Sersi trailed her fingers along Ajak.
————————
The others sat inside.
Sprite using her power to make a memory of her and Ajak.
"It was the last time I saw her."
Ikaris walked by Sprite.
"Ajak told me to check on Sersi and Y/N, so I went to London."
Sprite's lips quivered
"Turns out we all missed eachother, and needed some company."
"I guess, in her way, Ajak never stopped trying to take care of us."
Sprite exhaled.
"What will the others say?"
Y/N bit her fingernail.
"They'll be as devastated as us."
Ikaris sighed.
"That's the first time in 7000 years that one of us has died."
"I think the Deviant that attacked us in London killed Ajak, and absorbed her power."
"Deviants have never done that in the past."
Y/N tapped her fingers.
"It healed itself just like Ajak. I swear, I almost heard it speak."
The lights in the house flickered on and off, till it was pitch black.
"What just happened?!"
Sprite jumped up from her seat.
"I don't know."
Y/N looked around, trying to find something to grab.
She found something and made it into a flashlight.

They ran outside, seeing Sersi lost in a daze.
"Sersi. Sersi! Are you okay?"
Sprite shook the woman awake.
"What happened, Sersi?"
Ikaris asked.
"That sphere that Ajak used to talk with Arishem, it came out of her body and went inside me."
"Did you talk with Arishem?"
Ikaris stared at her.
"Yes. He said, "It's almost time.""
"Can you try talking with him again?"
Y/N sat behind Sersi.
"I don't know how."
"But she chose you to replace her. And she gave you the sphere."
"Hold on, Sprite."
Ikaris continued staring at the still dazed, and confused woman.
"Are you sure you talked with Arishem?"
Ikaris sounded genuinely concerned.
"What else would it be?"
Y/N began getting agitated by being by the corpse.
"Mahd Wy'ry."
Ikaris paused.
"There I no way that she has Mahd Wy'ry, Ikaris!"
Y/N clenched her fists.
"It happened to Thena that one night, it could happen again."
Y/N had flashbacks to the night.
Getting stabbed.
Druig leaving to "help make a difference"
Ajak telling everyone to live their own lives.
That was the night they all thought the Deviants had gone extinct, and they were incapable of coming back.
But, oh, were they wrong.
Because look where they are now.
