Midas' POV

There was this strange feeling in my chest. Not a pain, but as if I was scared. It must've been more anxiety. I am so sick of this. Why is this happening?

I opened my eyes to find that I was in my bedroom. I felt something soft wrapped around my hips. I turned my head slightly to see Meowscles sound asleep next to me. I smiled, remembering all of the events of the day.

God dammit! That feeling. It's growing. I tightly closed my eyes, and clenched my fists. I gritted my teeth trying to hold in a scream. I started to shake. First my hands, then my feet and legs. My breathing quickened, as I slammed my head against the bed frame, trying to stop the attack. This was the worst yet. Tears started streaming down my face. "No, no. Stop. Why me? I can't do this anymore. Why can't I just be normal?" I started mumbling those words.

Suddenly, I heard my name. "Midas? Midas?! Can you hear me?!" I can hear you Meowscles. I just can't reply. I'm not capable.

"Help me!" I cried. I had no say in the words that came out of my mouth, but these words were helpful.

I heard Meowscles get up. I don't know where he went, but he was gone.

I was struggling. More and more tears were coming out of my empty eyes. I couldn't do anything, as I had no control over my body. Just then, Meowscles entered the room once more.

"Midas, can you hear me? I want you to try your best to open your eyes," he sounded scared. I hadn't meant to scare the big kitty, so I tried.

I used all of my strength to force my eyes open. And they did. They were opened. They were still water logged with tears, but I could see. Meowscles was sitting on the bed in front of me. He reached out to my right hand, and I took hold of it. I squeezed his furry hand so hard that he winced a little bit. I noticed and immediately let go.

"It's okay, I'm here." he intertwined his fingers with mine once again, and I started to calm down. Only slightly though. I was still crying, and still shaking. Meowscles pulled out his phone from his pocket and opened it.

"Remember this? It was the vacation that all of the agents had at Sweaty Sands." He pointed to a picture on his phone. "And this, the time we raided the detective agency in Retail Row? And this one! We were camping out at Weeping Woods."

He was trying to calm me down. And it was working. I slowly stopped shaking, but I was still sobbing.

"And this one. Your birthday party at Apres Ski." I blinked twice. "And yesterday. The agent stuffing their face with wedding cake," I stopped. It worked!

I took a deep breath and said, "Yeah, I remember," Meowscles let out a sigh of relief.

"Whew, mew okay?"

"I will be. Thank you Meow,"

"Of course M."

I sighed. "I didn't mean to scare you, I just can't control my body during the attack,"

"Hey, it's okay. I'll be here to help you. Always."

I hugged him, burying my face in his chest, and he put his chin on the top of my head.

"What time is it?" I asked, looking at the bedside table.

"Almost 1:00. We should get some more sleep," I nodded, and laid back down. Meow did the same, his hands still wrapped around my body. But I didn't mind. It made me feel safe. I slowly dozed off.
