《Hetalia One-shots 2019!》PruAus: Sound of Love

Austria quietly entered the room, cautiously looking around.
He sighed quietly in relief. He was alone.
This was the main room of his house, a grand parlor with a magnificent piano in the center.
He'd spent countless hours sitting at that exact piano, thinking about countless topics.
He smiled softly, sitting down on the cushioned piano bench, he took off his pristine white gloves and set them aside. He set up his music sheet, even though he knew there was no need. The song he was about to play was special to him, he'd composed it and new every line by heart.
Austria closed his eyes, a crisp picture forming in his mind. "My love, this song is for you." He said quietly, knowing he was the only one who heard. And with that, he began to play.
His hands flew elegantly across the keys, filling the room with pure angelic harmony, almost a masterpiece according to Roderich. Keyword- almost.
The song was so almost perfect, that it was heart breaking to listen to, there was just something missing.
Of course, Roderich was well aware of this, he had created the song after all.
He had tried everything, even Hungary helped him a few times, but nothing was able to fix his song.
He sighed, finishing the melody, slowly withdrawing his fingers from the keys, as the sound left the room, leaving the Austrian alone once again.
"That was beautiful."
Roderick's eyes widened, he knew that voice, he spun around in surprise, his face red with embarrassment. "G-Gilbert?!"
The Prussian smirked. "Hallo."
"I... uh... how did you get into my house?!"
Gil shrugged. "One of your windows was open and I heard the piano, so I climbed in."
Austria pursed his lips. "I see..."

"Hey." Gilbert cut in before the Austrian could lose himself in thought. "What song was that, anyway? It didn't sound like Mozart or Beethoven or anything."
Roderich's blush deepened. "I... made it myself."
The Prussian raised his eyebrows. "I've heard a fair share of your personal creations, that one seems... different somehow."
Roderick moved his amethyst eyes away from the Prussian, focusing on his own lap.
"I made that song for someone very... special to me." He said quietly. "I tried as best as I could, but... it's not good enough for him yet."
"So this special person is a him?" Gilbert chuckled, making the Austrian squeak in embarrassment.
"M-Maybe... it doesn't concern you!"
"How about I help?"
"How-"
"Maybe all your song needs is a complementary instrument." The Prussian pulled out his flute from seemingly thin air. He smiled, his dazzling ruby eyes sparkling excitedly. "It's been an un-awsome while since we've done a duet. I think it's time to try again, ja?"
Roderich smiled gratefully, looking at Prussia's perfect pale lips. "Ja... we should." He agreed.
The Prussian's grinned widened, he motioned for Austria to start playing.
Roderich sighed wistfully. My love, my darling, I hope you realize that this song is for you, you alone. He thought, setting his nimble fingers on the keys.
The room once again filled with angelic harmony, Roderich, spilled his feelings into the song, the heartfelt sounds lingering in the air. Then, it happened, a miracle. Gilbert's flute broke through the elegant piano perfection, the two instruments dancing around each other, one perfectly complementing the other.
This was perfection.
Finally, Roderich finished, delicately ending the song, He heart Gilbert's flute quiet as well.
The perfect duet.
Roderick allowed a tear to roll from his delicate amethyst eye, he beamed at Gilbert, who beamed back.
"If this guy doesn't like that, he's completely un-awsome!" Gilbert declared.
The Austrian smiled at him. "The man I made that song for is the most awesome man I know."
Gilbert's eyes widened, his cheeks turned bright pink.
"I love you, Gilbert."
The Prussian approached him, leaning to Roderich's level on the piano bench.
"I love you to." Gilbert whispered back, his lips crashing onto the other male's.

Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
