《Pokémon High》A Little Further in Ash's Past (Chapter 4)

-Ash's point of view-
It was burning. Burning to ash. I sat there in horror watching my home burn to the ground... with my mother inside. This is was my fault. If I would kept my nose were it belonged then... my mom wouldn't be dead. Tears were running down my face cleaning the ash in it's way.
"You brought this upon your self." Came a cold, harsh voice behind me. I didn't have to turn around, I already knew who it was. Giovanni. He was standing there beside me watching the fire. It was night, and the flames burned bright hurting my eyes. The night was quiet, cold, but the wind was faint.
Team Rocket has taken everything from me. My Pokémon, and the only family I had left. Well almost everything. Pikachu had escaped from team Rocket, but me, I was still working on that.
I slammed my fist on the ground. He was right. I sealed my mother's fate with my own stupidity.
-Back to third person-
Ash woke up in cold sweat. He had the same dream he had every night, but it still haunted him.
"Pika-pi?" Said Pikachu in worried voice. Ash looked down at the Pokémon laying beside him.
"I'm okay." Ash got up. He was in his room, then he remembered that he had tell professor Oak everything. Ash didn't think he was able to stomach telling somebody else, but he was going to have to at some point.
There was a knock on the door interrupting Ash's train of thought. Ash rushed out of his room and to the front door. When he opened it Gary was standing there.
"Oh hay Gary."
"Sup Ashie-boy." Said Gary pushing past Ash into his house.
"Hay Gary you can't just barge in!" Ash shouted at Gary intruding into his house.
"Oh man Ashie-boy. Your house is a mess." He was right. There was dust and cobwebs every where, but Ash didn't exactly have the money to do anything about it.
"And so empty. Where is everything?" Gary noticed that there wasn't any furniture or anything in fact.
"Gary, please get out." Ash said as politely as possible.
"Ash where's Delia?"
"She's back in Kanto."
"Bull shit. Gramps told me she was missing. So where so she?" Ash didn't understand why Gary was being so impulsive all of a sudden.
"Gary, please get out." Ash said not as polite.
"No can do Ashie-boy. I want to help you."
"As I said yesterday, there's nothing you can do."
"Gramps also told me that your Pokémon are missing. I have a feeling that it some how involves team Rocket."

"Gary... get out."
"So it does."
"Get out... now."
"Why do you keep on dodging the subject?"
"Get out."
"Ash it's time you told me what happened back on Kanto."
"Get out."
Gary was getting angrier, and angrier every time Ash said that. "Ash stop keeping problems to your self. You know there are people that worry about you, and are willing to help."
"Get...ou-" Gary interrupted Ash by slapping him across the face. Ash stood there in shock holding his stinging cheek. 'What am I doing? Why am I just keeping things to myself?' Ash thought within the moment of silence that came after the slap.
"Gary what the heck was that for!"
"There we go. Back to your normal self. Now will you tell me what happened back in Kanto."
Ash thought for a second.
"I was planning on telling professor Oak today, so if you want to hear then I'll be there after school."
"Okay. I guess I can wait a little longer. Well then I'm on my school." Gary headed for the door. "See ya Ashie-boy." Gary saluted Ash with two fingers, before closing the door.
-With Serena-
Serena woke up early that morning. She finally got enough courage to ask the new kid were she's seen him before. She already had an idea on where she has met him before but she wanted to be sure.
"Well someone's up early." Her mother said in shock when Serena came down the stairs ready for school.
"Yeah. I wanted to get to school early today." Serena picked up her backpack
"Why?" Her mother was getting suspicious.
"Because." Serena laughed as she walked out the door.
Serena walked out the door when she saw Gary walk out of an small, old rundown house. 'Was that his?' She thought. Gary spotted her and ran up to her. "Hey Serena."
"Hay Gary. Was that your house that you just walked out of?"
"Hm? No."
"Then who's is it?"
"A friend's"
'Gary seemed to have a lot of 'friends'.' "Do I know this friend?"
"Mhm" Gary nodded.
Serena then thought it was Ash's, so she didn't want to pick deeper into the subject. They walked in silence for about 5 minutes before Serena said, "I want to know more about Ash. Can you tell me about his past."
Gary thought for second before he said, "If you promise not to tell anyone else."
"I promise."
"Okay, where to start....Well let's see, Ash never really sat still for a long time. He was always playing in the forest near our house. He would end up staying out in forest for about a day or two before heading home."

"Why would he stay out in the forest for so long?"
"Because Ash is Ash, and gets very curious when it comes to Pokémon. He's mostly is like that because he wants to fallow in his father's footsteps, as a trainer. The funny thing is, that he wants to be a great trainer like his dad, but he also hates him for leaving his mother to take care of Ash and his brothers." Gary clasped his hand over his mouth. 'Oh no Ash is going to kill me.'
"Brothers?!"
"Shh. Not so loud"
"Sorry, but what do you mean by brothers?"
Gary lowered his voice into a whisper. "Don't tell anyone I told you this, but Ash had 2 brothers that went missing 6 years ago."
Serena gasped, "Oh no, how sad. How did Ash take it."
"He shut himself inside for weeks. And his mom was actually the one that recovered faster then Ash."
"Was Ash close to them?"
"Very."
"How come Ash hasn't told anyone, any of this?"
"Would you?"
Serena thought about it for a second before answering, "I guess not. Did you know them?"
"Yeah. Every kid in town looked up to them. Even though Ash was their brother he was teased a lot, but Ash didn't care. He loved being with Pokémon, and do anything for them. He would always come back home with either an injured Pokémon or one that made a connection with him."
Serena laughed. "Ash is some character isn't he."
"Yep. He even saved a girl during a summer camp one year."
"Did you know her?"
"Nope, but he did say she was one of cutest girls he's ever seen."
Serena started blushing. She remembered that she thought it was at a summer camp that she had met Ash, but she wasn't sure.
"Well it looks like we're here." Gary said before running off. Serena heard a little chuckle behind her. When she turned around it was Trip(The guy with Paul in the beginning of chapter 2).
"Ugh. What do you want Trip?"
"Oh nothing from you." When Trip walked away he bumped his shoulder into Serena's. 'I wonder what that was all about.' Serena thought before walking onto school grounds.
-Back with Ash-
Ash was a good distance away from Gary, so he couldn't hear him and Serena taking. Though he was more worried about Trip clearly listening in on their conversation. When he walked on school grounds he saw Trip whispering something in Paul's ear. When he passed them they were staring Ash and chuckling. 'They look like a couple of girls.' Ash mused before he walked into the school.
Ash's classes seemed to fly by, which made him ill at ease. At lunch he barley touched his food.
"Ash what's wrong?" Gary asked.
"Oh nothing just not hungry today."
Ash then felt a tap on his shoulder. When he turned around there was girl with short blue hair, a head band that looked like a bib, red eyes, an orange tie, and Poseidon colored dress on the top and cooled blue on the bottom. She grabbed Ash's arm and dragged him over to her table.
"What the heck was that?!" Yelled Serena a little jealous.
"Oo, is somebody jelly?" Asked Dawn with her hand held on top of her mouth barley touching it.
Serena blushed. "N-no. It's just random for someone to do that." Serena crossed her arms.
"Not for Miette." Dawn looked at Ash nervously sitting next to Miette who seemed to be asking a bunch of questions. Then his expression changed. His skin turned white. He looked like he had just seen a ghost. He angularly stood up keeping his head down. He walked over to Gary and said, "Bathroom...now." He walked ahead of Gary heading for the bathroom.
"Gary what's going on?" Brock asked. Gary shrugged and fallowed him to the bathroom.
Gary walked back after a couple of minutes. "What is Ash so upset about?" Asked Misty.
Gary ignored her. "Hay Serena can I talk to you for a second?"
"Yeah." They left the cafeteria. "What is it Gary?"
"Hay don't just ignore me!" They heard Misty yell when they left.
"Did you tell anybody about Ash's brothers?"
"No. Why?"
"Some how the popular kids learned about his brothers."
Serena gasped. She had pretty good idea on who was telling every one. "Trip."
"Trip? What does he have to do with all this?"
"I think he was listening to us this morning."
"That explains a lot."
Serena and Gary heard a chuckle. They turned to see it was Trip.
"Trip. What's your problem?" Gary asked.
"Ash embarrassed Paul, so he needs to learn his place."
"But this is low even for you."
"Does it look like I give a Furfrou ?"
"Don't act like the Dialga you are!"
(Those were some curse words Pokémon style.)
"Tsk, what ever." Trip walked away.
"What's with that guy?" Serena said with her hands on her hips.
"He just thinks more about his rank then what comes out of his mouth."
