You sniffled as you shuffled out of the hospital room quietly, dragging yourself back into the waiting room. A napkin hung loosely in your hand as you sighed.
"I hate the hospital..." You muttered, eyes freshly glossy with tears.
Your mother had been permantly living in the hospital for six months now due to her lukemia. You visited every month, and every time she had looked so much more... fragile. As if she'd been decomposing already.
You always left the room early so that you didn't have to cry in front of her.
As your eyes looked around the familiarly eerie room, you realized there was another child there. He had two-toned hair and a bandage over his left eye. He had looked at the floor, trying to forget he were even in a hospital.
You hesitated, before walking up to the boy.
"Hello." You kneeled down.
"C-Can I sit here?" Your smile was shaky, but you forced it nonetheless as you tilted your head. You didn't want to scare the boy.
He stayed quiet, eyes widening for only a mere moment before he nodded.
You sat down beside him, finding yourself staring at the boy now.
His eyes seemed dead when he looked at you. As if he was a corpse and not a person.
Abruptly, you realized you were staring and slightly jolted in realization, your eyes averting to the tiled floor.
It was dead-quiet, except for the quiet jingling of your mother's bracelet as you played with it anxiously. Silence always irritated you.
"(Y/N), come here. We're leaving." Your father's stern voice startled you out of your thoughts. You stood up, glancing at the boy.
You clenched your fists, eyes narrowing before you knelt down before him again.

"You're cute." You kissed his bandage.
"And I'm sure whatever is going on will work itself out, alright?" You said quietly, before clumsily running off.
"What in the world did I just do..." You mumbled, running up to your father's side as you made your way out of the halls of the hospital.
Todoroki's right eye was as wide as it could possibly be, before he settled back into his normal stoic expression.
He looked down with a subtle blush, clutching his bandage as your words echoed faintly in his mind.
A smile had formed. A tiny, tiny smile.

Tags and content warnings are checked for the sake of my creativity in the future, it might or might not be included. This is my first novel, and also, English is not my native language, I beg your mercy. But I am open to any feedback and constructive criticism, so let's make the story more enjoyable to read!
