《A Normal Day... | Monster Girls X Male Reader》2. Feline Friend

You're awoken from your slumber by a weight on your chest and a dip in the bed. Slowly opening your eyes you're met with your usual bog standard room, with a thick layer of darkness gently blanketing it. The red light of the clock illuminating your left side amongst the darkness, you tilt your head and read the time, 2:10 am. Great. Now for the intruder. Glancing to your right you're met with the fiery red eyes of Luci, who's now snuggling into your side.
(Y/N): Luci, what are you doing?
Silence fills the air, only the gently sound of breathing is audible.
Luci: Trying to sleep, silly. So should you.
(Y/N): I was asleep, until a certain someone woke me up.
You heard a slight giggle and the hellhound shifted her head so it's directly next to yours.
Luci: Shut up dumbass and go to sleep.
Due to her being a hellhound she had a short fuse, so you decided not to push this any further. Resting your head back down the pillow you gently close your eyes, waiting for the embrace of sleep to take you. Moments later you feel Luci shuffle yet again, this time resting her head in your chest. Great.
The light pierces the room like an unwelcome intruder. The sound of chirping birds, the odd car and... Your alarm clock. The same monotone noise you heard every morning. The very same noise that drives you from your slumber day in and day out. You let it ring for a couple of seconds, in deep thought until a shirt flies across the room knocking the alarm off the table. You head shoots up to be met with an agitated Luci.
Luci: Why'd you let it ring?! I was trying to sleep!
(Y/N): Yup... In my room. And what was up with that any ways? That's the first time you've done that.

Luci: I had a...nightmare, about my previous owners. I couldn't take being alone as it reminded me of my time... Before I met you.
Her voice was trembling and she was looking at the floor. Strange. You'd heard that Hellhounds were argumentative, angry control freaks, yet Luci wasn't. Weird.
Climbing from amongst your blankets you throw on your running clothes and shuffle towards the shaking hound, wrapping her in an embrace in an attempt to calm her down. She buries her head into your chest and sobs.
After a while she'd calmed down, for the most part, allowing you to escape her clutches and move down stairs, with Luci in tow. You could tell by her face she was annoyed at waking up so early, and it was strange seeing her up before 10. Today was going to be... Interesting for the most part. Smith had contacted you the night before telling you about your new housemate. You had no idea what Smith had in store for you, but Luci seemed wholeheartedly against the idea of sharing you, whatever that means.
After preparing dinner you sat down with Luci, who was mid game on Smash, and losing. You could see the anger building up upon her face.
(Y/N): Maybe it's time to stop? You're going to have a heart attack if you keep on playing.
Luci:
You noticed her claws extending and fur growing. You needed to diffuse this situation, and fast if you wanted to keep you Switch for another day. And then, a knock at the door.
This seemed to not phase Luci in the slightest. But who could it be? Maybe Smith? Surely not. Only time would tell though. Grasping at the door handle your met with... Nothing? You noticed the MON truck pulling away, but where was the ne-

Suddenly your knocked off your feet by a sudden blur, swiftly knocked the wind out of you.
Kat: My new master, nya~
The cat girl nuzzled into your chest. What. The. Fuck.
Apparently in the commotion of getting boarder line assaulted the sudden impact of you hitting the ground attracted Luci. You could hear her padded feet sprinting across the wooden floor.
Luci: (Y/N) ARE YOU OKA-
The hound noticed the neko grasping at your chest, softly purring. Oh no. You'd only just pieced it together, but Luci was a dog, and this cat girl is just that, a cat. Fucking great. Cheers Smith.
(Y/N): Sooooo, do you have a name?
Amongst the purring she opens her bright Amber orbs and locks onto you.
Kat: No. You're the first person to actually want to adopt me, which I'm grateful for~
(Y/N): How about... Kat?
You noticed her face light up at this and she proceeds to envelop you in a bone crushing hug.
Kat: I love it sososososososososososo much, Thank you!!!~
You're in for one hell of a ride.

Cultivating Earth [Hiatus]
[This fiction is on indefinite hiatus. I'm currently acting as a 24-hour caregiver for my step-father who had a massive heart attack. I apologize for disappearing so quickly, but sometimes that's just life. I'll return as soon as possible. Sorry everyone!] Zhao Gang, after hundreds of thousands of years cultivating, has finally reached the penultimate threshold. He is ready to ascend to the level of True Immortal. Driven by the need for a place his enemies won't find him, Zhao Gang puts together an audacious plan. He has developed a revolutionary new formation which will allow him to ascend while on even the lowest planes. To avoid drawing attention, he has to choose a plane that is relatively desolate, however. He chooses Earth. Fast forward three thousand years. Zhao Gang discovers what his work has wrought - a cultivation-free culture that has delved the deep mysteries of creation - he can't help but think how this tiny little planet devoid of natural energy could affect the course of all creation. There's only one problem. For that to happen, he has to succeed in cultivating Earth. Notes: Chinese names should be ignored in the social context - they don't mean anything. Sorry for slaughtering such a beautiful tradition. This novel starts off slower than most. If the slow-roll isn't your thing, you might want to give this a pass. If it's not for you, I understand. Also, releases may be broken up into smaller chunks. The goal is 5k words, but definitely more than 4k. If you see a short release, be aware that more is probably coming. I'll be honest and say that I'm struggling with each new scene, if only because I want to balance the scope of vision with good pacing. I hope the work I put into it is worthwhile.
