《A Normal Day... | Monster Girls X Male Reader》19. Castaway

Checking your phone you notice that you're close to your daily limit, only 2km more and you're done. You pick up your pace, the wind blowing through your short (H/C) hair. The sun was out, birds were chirping and leaves were gently cascading down from the trees.
Strange, you could've sworn it was spring?
Rounding the corner you climb over the wooden gate and cross the derelic road to your house. Inputting the code you begin your ascent up to the mansion. Even though you did this run daily, something felt different. The aura and vibe felt off and you couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. As you climb the final step the house door suddenly swings off its hinges.
Kat: Scathach and Apophis are opening an inter-dimensional portal!
Uhhhhh, come again?
(Y/N): Kat I swear if this is some last-ditch effort to get my attention I'm going to dunk you head first into the pool.
Upon saying this, the area surrounding your house began to shake and tremble as a swirling vortex appears directly above the mansion. The clouds begin to contort and swirl to match the appearance of the vortex as the sky takes on a sickly purple color. Well that's new. You and Kat stare in awe as the vortex starts spitting out various bits of foliage and rocks, as well as random bounds of lightning hitting the roof repeatedly like it was signalling where the fucking mystery box is. You're pulled out of your hypnotic daze as Kat quickly latches onto your back and sits on your shoulders, grabbing tufts of your hair and trying to yank you towards the door.
(Y/N): OUCH! What the hell do you think you're doing??
Kat: I saw it in this one movie, I thought it would work...
You couldn't help but laugh at her naivety and childishness.
(Y/N): You thought you could control my movements by pulling my hair? Don't tell me you watched Ratat-
Before you could finish she grabs a fistful of hair and yanks backwards as hard as she can.
(Y/N): Okay Okay! Christ almighty. Message received, now get the fuck off my shoulders.
Kat: Nope!
Petra: Don't you two have bigger things to worry about?

Oh yeah, like the giant rip in time and space above your house. You and Kat look towards the door spotting Petra in nothing more than a robe. In one hand she held a mug full of what you figured was coffee and in the other she held a plate of toast. Given the situation you were baffled at how relaxed she seemed.
(Y/N): Good point.
You take off up the stairs with Kat on your shoulders, annoyingly yanking your hair every now and then for the fun of it. As you approach Scathach's door, the hallway starts to twist and contort, like something out of Inception.
(Y/N): What the fuck?!
Kat: I swear I saw something like this on Demon Slayer!
(Y/N): Really Kat? Now isn't the time for your obscure pop culture references!
Kat: You're one to talk!!
Amongst your bickering you failed to notice that the floor had given way and you were now standing on the hallway ceiling. Glancing up you now notice that Scathach's door was miles off, and only getting further away.
(Y/N): What the fuck is happening?!
Monic: The closer you get to the portal the more distorted reality is going to get. I have no idea what they're doing in there but if we don't stop it soon something bad will most likely happen.
(Y/N)+Kat: AHHHHH!
The sudden appearance of Monic almost gives you and Kat a heart attack as you quickly recoil backwards at the sudden jumpscare. Since the door was getting further away from you by the second the reality distortions were getting weaker and weaker, causing you and Kat to drop back down to the hallway floor with a loud THUD. Glancing up you notice Monic effortlessly and elegantly drop down, landing with finesse. Show off.
Luci: Goddamn woman! When this is over remind me to put a fucking bell collar on you!
(Y/N): I second that decision!
As you say this Monic's cheeks flare up and you notice her eyes gloss over before she covers her entire face with her hands.
Monic: Master wants to put a collar on me...
It suddenly hit you how wrong what you said sounded, especially to a maid that takes almost everything at face-value. You could only image the lewd thoughts swimming around in her head.

(Y/N): I-uhhh d-didn't mean it like t-tha-
But before you could finish your sentence she shoots off down the stairs and out of view completely, leaving you a blushing and flustered mess.
Kat: Nice going dipshit, we just lost the only person that actually knows what's going on around here!
(Y/N): What?! I was agreeing with what you said!
Kat: You know how dense she is, why on earth would you agree with me?!
(Y/N): I know how dense YOU are, I didn't realise my words meant that much to her.
Kat: You really are clueless aren't you.
(Y/N): What's that supposed to mean?
Kat: Nothing! Now continue onwards my noble steed!
She climbs back onto your shoulders and begins pulling on your hair again. What a pest.
You get to your feet and start running down the seemingly endless hallway. You mentally facepalm as you didn't notice how far away it had actually gotten during your spat with Kat. Hey that rhymed!
Once again you feel Kat smack you upside the head, bringing you out of your thoughts.
Kat: Stop spacing out idiot! You're lucky that it's taking an absurdly long time to open this portal or we'd all be dead thrice over!
Yeah, its awfully convenient huh.
You start walking forward again, warily taking in your surroundings as to spot any sort of distortion.
(Y/N): Say, where's Luci? She's about the only girl we haven't seen yet.
Kat: Probably moping around in her room or getting absurdly angry at videogames she sucks at.
You let out a brief chuckle at her statement before slowing down. As you approach the end of the hallway it got harder and harder to walk. The closer you got the more pressure was applied to your back, eventually making you topple. Kat hops off your back with ease and gives you a quizzical look.
Kat: Cmon, we're right here! Stop being a wimp and move.
(Y/N): I'm f-fucking trying! It feels like I'm being crushed.
Kat: Hmmm, it must be a side-effect of the spell that only affects humans. Probably a precaution to stop humans from ambushing the caster. Pretty smart.
At this point you couldn't even talk as it felt like your ribs would crack at any given moment. Kat grasps your hand firmly and tries to pull you closer towards the door. After what seemed like hours but was only mere seconds, the pressure lifted, causing you and Kat to fly off your feet and straight through the door, coming face-to-face with Scathach, Apophis and... Luci?!
Apophis: Oh guests! How wonderful~
Scathach gives you an unreadable look before focusing back on the portal. Luci was sat in the corner of the room flicking through a comic book, seemingly uninterested in the situation at hand. Apophis stood next to Scathach, but her attention was now on you instead of the warp.
(Y/N): What the fuck are you doing?! I can't leave you girls alone for one second without you either trying to tear each other or reality apart.
Kat: Yeah! What he said! Wait...
Scathach: What ever do you mean?
(Y/N): Me and Kat have been traversing the same hallway for about 15 minutes now. That and whatever the fuck you're doing in here has opened up the sky and it's raining trees outside!
Before anyone could say anything you hear Luci.
Luci: Scathach wanted to bring one of her friends over from another dimension, but in order to do that she needed to use Apophis's power as a catalyst to form a bridge between the two plains.
She doesn't bother to look up from her comic book, and just continued to flip the pages at random intervals.
Before you could say anything the portal starts to take on a red hue and begins pulsating, knocking Scathach and Apophis away from the center of the room.
Kat: What's happening?!
Scathach: It's unstable! I must've messed up somehow! Dammit!
You could barely hear her as the portal started causing torrents of wind to blow through the room like a tornado, before growing smaller and smaller in size. As it was about to close, everything within a certain vicinity started flying towards it. Including you. The last thing you heard before disappearing was the girls collectively screaming your name.
