《5SOS Sickfics》Michael- Hot Head
Advertisement
The lads of 5 Seconds Of Summer were in Osaka, Japan for the Summer Sonic Festival. It was 3pm right now, about two hours before they were due on stage. It was quite warm today, so they wanted to make sure that they were all hydrated and not too warm, as not to risk dehydration or a heatstroke. They were walking around, filming random Instagram story videos and joking with each other, super excited to be in Japan.
The boys were just getting handed their water bottles when Michael was mid-filming yet another update for the fans. Too stubborn to stop the video and take the water, he kindly declined and continued talking to the camera. Just after he got it posted, someone from their team came in and told them to go out to meet fans.
They finished meeting their fans 10 minutes before they went on stage, making their way towards the stage. They got there with only 5 minutes to spare, grabbing their instruments and waiting at the side of the stage, three of them with bottles of water in their hands. The only one who didn't have one was, of course, Michael. He was also dressed head to toe in black, this was just a recipe for disaster.
The show had went great so far. They had an amazing crowd and the boys enjoyed every single second of performing. The heat was a downside, though, it being almost unbearable if it hadn't been for the lads drinking water at every given opportunity and trying to cool off backstage at the encore.
Well, except for Michael.
The poor boy just sat and smiled when he wasn't playing, even backstage he just put on more sunscreen as if being slightly sunburnt was worse than dehydration. Maybe the others should have noticed he was lacking a water bottle, but maybe Michael should have taken care of that himself. When they got backstage, Michael sat down on the couch while the others switched instruments, fixed their outfits and tried to chat despite the loudness of screaming fans.

Michael was feeling quite dizzy, he wasn't able to see straight and standing up didn't seem to be an option. He tried calling to one of the other lads, but he just started breathing heavily. He felt absolutely exhausted and extremely hot. He started breathing faster until he blacked out, falling to the side, his eyes closing as his head hit the wall next to the couch, causing a loud bang.
This caught the attention of the other lads, who all looked worriedly in the direction of where Michael had been sitting. Immediately, all three were shocked at the sight of Michael, who had now fallen to the floor. Ashton and Calum both rushed over, getting on the floor and checking the now extremely red faced boy over, whilst Luke called the ambulance. A small crowd formed around the unconscious boy when the members of their team noticed the situation.
"Michael! Michael, wake up!" Calum panicked, shaking the boy. "Calm down, he's going to be fine", Ashton said like the band-Dad he is meanwhile Luke was already tearing up.
So much of that encore then.
Luke was speaking with the operator and giving them information. "Yeah he-he was in direct sunlight, I guess. I don't think he was drinking enough- like, 90 degrees?"
"What is it?" Ashton asked. He wanted to help his friend but couldn't do anything without knowing what was wrong with him. Luke sighed and replied, "Heatstroke", before passing the phone to Dave.
Following the instructions their bodyguard was repeating out loud, they sat Michael up and tried to get water passed his lips. His skin already felt a little cooler from the fridge cold water they poured on it after removing excess clothing, but he was still red and hot. Ashton went on stage to give the festival crowd an explanation and apology. Soon the ambulance arrived and Michael was carried in.

The other three left after the ambulance, taking a car to the hospital. Once they got there, Calum went up to ask how Michael was doing whilst the other two went to sit down. When he returned back to the two, Calum explained that the receptionist could not give him any information on how Michael was doing, as he had only just been checked in. Sitting down, Calum waited with the other two for a doctor to appear with the information that they were waiting for.
Twenty minutes later, a female doctor came out calling for relatives and friends of Michael Clifford. The three lads went up and followed the lady to Michael's room. On the short trip to the hospital room, she explained what she knew about Michael's condition.
"Michael was in a bad state when he came in, dehydrated, sunburnt, heatstroke. There were many ways he could have stopped it, but that doesn't matter now. What matters is that your friend is okay. We injected some cooling fluid into his system as well as other hydrating fluids to get his body back to normal. He should be able to leave tomorrow morning, he just needs to stay here overnight to make sure there aren't any complications pertaining to his condition", the doctor explained.
"Can we see him?" Ashton asked.
"Of course, I'll leave you with him." The doctor told them, opening the door before leaving, as she had said. The lads entered the room, finding Michael on his phone.
"Hey Mike." Calum greeted as him and Luke grabbed the two seats next to the bed, Ashton sitting at the end of the bed.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Michael asked, turning his phone off and putting it on his side table.
"Nothing much, except for the fact that you fainted on us like it was nothing." Luke stated sarcastically.
"Hehe, yeah. Sorry about that." Michael laughed nervously.
"It's fine Mike, just remember to drink water, put on sunscreen and wear something other than black next time." Ashton laughed.
"I'm not sure I can comply with the last part of that statement."

Extermination Order
So it turns out that anime got something right: If you get hit by a truck, you're going to another world. Dennis became subject to that unknown quirk of reality when crossing a busy city street (despite having looked both ways). But that was quite some years ago. He's been around this new world 'Nassur' a time or two and knows how to live a good life. He also knows that adventuring friggin sucks. So, what is a man to do in a fantasy world with a shoddy leveling system that constantly suggests getting more XP, and a condition set by the gods that you must make the world a better place? Pest extermination. But reality is often fickle. Perhaps one day it is only rats, another, mechanical centipedes with lasers. Maybe the Dark Lord needs a shoulder to cry on because his dungeon simply can't be ready in time for the adventurers he likes to do battle against. Another poor soul from Earth could appear just as dazed and confused as the day you'd first arrived, requiring a good long talk about 'hey, what the hell is this, man'. And maybe... just maybe, that thick book of owed favors comes back to haunt you. For a man who desires a peaceful, productive life, Dennis can find it rather difficult for a week to go by where something doesn't go awry. This series originally started on r/HFY, [Link] but I decided to post it here since people are so positive about it! Posting rate is, and likely will continue to be, rather inconsistent. Shrike
He wants to play the latest and greatest VRMMORPG game, but he can't muster up the cash for the fancy new proprietary hardware and membership license. After months of saving up cash and arduous work, he has built a behemoth of a machine relying almost entirely on seedy old technology and a DIY guide by some dude named "Jimmy Bob." This is the story of his entry into the game. This is also a story of intrigue, exploration, introspection, batshit crazy game design, and unintended but entirely predictable consequences. This is G.C.O. Undergoing a total re-write, mostly because I think things were too rushed rather than any content or direction changes. If you are one of the few who tried Shrike when it was briefly updating, consider giving it another shot. Of no relation to either The Great Crusade or the recent (in 2017 lol) Shrike book for Warhammer by Games Workshop. All similarities in these cases are superficial; please don't sue me. Feedback welcome and encouraged, never be afraid to review or comment. HQ/Kindle-Grade cover art. Book Cover 2.0: "From the Dark"
