《The Bookworm {Jasper X Reader}》The Confession

You decided to move into the living room. You could sit comfortably there, while being able to maintain a conversation without just awkwardly standing around.
You both sat into your spots, you into your armchair, Jasper into her sack. Then you stared at each other for a while, before Jasper took a deep breath and started.
"So... I think you deserve an explanation why it took me so long to reform. And why I've said... what I've said... before I... you know" you nodded and her look shifted onto the ground before she continued.
"You see, I was... afraid to come out. Yes, afraid. I-I didn't know what your reaction was to when I said that, and I was afraid I ruined what we had... our friendship..." she looked up at you and when she saw you smiling understandingly, she smiled a little too and went on.
"The truth is that I... like you (y/n)... very much. I don't like you like a friend, no... I like you more than that." she laughed awkwardly "Hell, I've never felt this way about anybody before! I-I don't know what that even is! Steven taught me about this feeling you humans call 'love', and so I thought that maybe that's what I feel... but I don't know..." she sighed and put her face into her hands.
"I am so confused, (y/n). A-and I don't you to feel confused as well, but I think I've just made you... I'm so sorry, I-"
"No, don't feel sorry!" you interrupted her. When she looked up at you in puzzlement, you continued "Well, it is true you've made me slightly confused, but in a different way..."
"In a different way?"
"Yes... I thought you didn't want to come out because something was wrong with your gem... I really hoped that wouldn't be it." you smiled softly.

"(y/n) please..." she said before you could continue. You widened your eyes, when you realised that tears formed in her eyes. "Just tell me what I'm feeling! Why am I feeling like that! A-and if you're maybe feeling the same? I can't stand this! It's like I'm tearing appart inside!" she shouted, looking like she was in pain. And she probably was, but in the different kind than she was used to.
This type of pain was emotional.
You nodded lightly and took in a deep breath.
