She was worried about her Uncle, he always treated her like his daughter and now he was in ICU.
I still remember when he personally called me to invite me on Diya's supposed marriage which, later ironically became my marriage... "our marriage".
Though it was love at first sight for me, but not for her. She was prepared to marry to the chosen groom, who later never showed up...
And after one month we are going back. I don't know how things has been changed back in India since we left.
"Sivan....how are you mate?" I asked hesitantly.
His gazed traveled behind me, to Diya.
"Diya, how are you?" He ignored my presence.
"I-I am good brother." She pressed her lips in thin smile.
"Let me help you..—
"No, need brother, I am fine." She implied, clearly wasn't not happy with Sivan's behaviour towards me.
"If you say so...anyway the car is waiting outside, we should get going." Sivan replied neutrally.
"Okay." I nodded. Before I could move the luggage trolley, Diya held my wrist. "I am sorry, I ruined your friendship with him." She said with guilt.
"Don't be. We will sort it out." I stroked her hand, reassuringly.
"I know you will. But—
"Like I said we will be fine." I interrupted her.
"I think we should get going, before your brother come back." I whispered in her ear.
"Are you afraid of my brother, Mr Agnihotri?" She asked teasingly.
"N-Not at all, after all, he is my Saala. (Brother-in-law)". I replied, earning a smack on my arm by Diya. I chuckled, playfully.
"Now, let's get going." She said, frowning at me.
"This way..Diya." I guided her.
____
"It's been more than two hrs...when will reach to the hospital, bhai (brother)." Diya asked.

"We are not going to the hospital. I got a call from home, Aunt Reena, said uncle has been discharged from hospital, although they have assigned a nurse with him." Sivan replied from front seat.
"Diya, you should sleep, there is still two more hrs, until we reach home." I said.
"I-I am not sleepy, Anuraag."
"I know you are! You barely slept during flight, and you look so tired too." I interjected.
"Okay, if you insist. But wake me up this time, don't Pic—. Diya paused before completing the sentence, I glanced at her. "Don't what?" I asked her, raising a brow.
"N-nothing, was i saying anything...I am sleeping now." She quickly rested her to the side, leaning on car window.
"That was weird " I murmured confusedly to myself.
"She's weird.." Sivan said unexpectedly, which made me look at him.
"Don't glance at me like that!"
"I am not.." I said removing my gaze from him.
"Did you take care of her?" He asked after a long pause.
" I did."
"Good, because I can see, you have changed her, may be because of the marriage or potentially because of you?" He implied.
"Me?"
"I said potentially, you dumbass!!" There, The Sivan I knew was back.
"Hey don't call me that, I am your Jija (sister's husband/ brother-in-law)"
"Sure, you are....I am sorry, I ignored you at the airport. For my behaviour earlier on the wedding day..." he said with repentance.
"I will forgive, if you will call me jija!" I laughed.
"Your impossible, I am talking all serious here, you are goofing with me!"
"That's what we used to do, right?" I clarified.
"Right!"
___
"Oye moti! Wake up, we are here!" Sivan yelled at Diya's window.

She gently rubbed her eyes, and brushed her messy hair with fingers, before getting out the car.
"Anuraag, why don't you and Diya go to your room while I send the driver with your luggage. And get freshen up, and then you guys can go meet uncle afterwards?" Sivan said suggestively.
"Alright, But where are all family members?" I asked.
"They are inside. They were making some welcome arrangements for you And Diya, as you guys came first time after your marriage..—-oh there they are." He looked at the main door.
"Diya!" Her Aunt hugged her. "How are you dear?" Her Aunt said.
"I am good aunt. How are you all?"
"We are good as well—Anuraag ji, please come inside." Her Aunt said.
"Of course." I nodded.
Diya and I stand next to each other, while her aunty did our Tilak ceremony(Indian tradition). After that we entered in the house.
"I hope you remembered your room." Diya's cousin Anjali said.
"Of course, I do! Right from living room, take stairs, second room on the left." Diya replied.
"Just then I don't need to lead you. Call me if you need anything, okay!?" Anjali said before going towards the kitchen.
I walked with Diya, silently.
I looked around—Last time I came here but I never went to her room, even though our rooms were quite close to each other.
We both entered, her room was big , there was a queen sized bed, maroon colour sheets and pillows.
She carefully sat on the bed, "Oh my god, I missed here so much." She smiled. "Are you still standing there, Anu? Come and sit!" She patted next to her.
"Anu" that was the first time she called me that. I smiled amusedly.
"Sure, But first I want to freshen up."
"Okay, the washroom is on the left." She said.
"Okay, thanks" I nodded.
—
"Uncle, how are you?" Diya sat next to her Uncle's bed, holding his IV tube laced hand.
"I-I am good, Diya. I hope you didn't had any problem during your journey..."
"No of course not." She shook her head.
"Are you happy, dear?" His voice was weak.
"I am," she smiled through her tears.
"Then, why are you crying?"
"It's— I am happy to meet you uncle, Aunty told me about your condition...I panicked..but seeing you...I am relieved." She explained.
"And that's why you came here less than a week, along with your husband.—by that Where is he?"
I was standing near the door. As i heard Diya calling me inside, I walked there, and greeted him touching his feet. "Uncle,Namste, how are you feeling now?" I asked.
"I am feeling better, dear, how are you?" He asked.
"I am good," I smiled.
"Thank you, Anuraag. For accepting her as your wife." He said.
"No uncle, thank you for trusting me, and giving her hand to me." I stated with gratitude.

Transcendence?
Author's Comment: I was asked about reading my work on other sites. The answer is simple: Currently I am not active in any other networks than royalroadl.com. Only here, I correct mistakes and errors. If you read it anywhere else and have to pay for it, or have to deal with an annoying amount of advertisement, You Are Being Betrayed. You would do good if you make other people in that network aware of it. This is a free project of mine for the purpose of having fun. And if people try to make money with it you shouldn't bother visiting their website. The only one whom I actually allowed to have my work on his website is Armaell who invested the time to compile them into pdf. (http://armaell-library.net/author/andur) ——————————————————————————————— Reading Order of the Multiverse-Books ——————————————————————————————— Transcendence? is a novel about reincarnation, love, hate and war. And everything else that's included. It follows the main characters, as they climb to the top of their society. And lose their humanity in the process to become something beyond human. It's settled in the same universe as Until death?. It can be seen as a prequel. But I plan for it to be a stand alone book. Nobody has to read Until death? in order to enjoy Transcendence?. There will be cool chapters, sad chapters, romantic chapters and funny chapters. Of course there will be boring chapters too. I believe that some explanation is necessary in every novel. Though I hope that there will be more funny chapters. How a chapter turns out always depends on my mood.

Flashback: Siren Song
The year is 1969. Yancy Lazarus—bluesman, gambler, future world-class mage and fix-it man—is just a dumb, unlucky kid serving with the 3rd Battalion 3rd Marines in Vietnam. With just a few weeks left to go until Yancy gets shipped back to the States, he’s just trying to keep his head down and avoid a body bag—no mean feat in Nam. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves. Just like the mysterious music drifting through the jungle toward Yancy's squad, Siren Song will get under your skin and sink its hooks into your mind. —eden Hudson, Author of Halo Bound (the Redneck Apocalypse series) *** Hey everyone, this is James Hunter. This story isn't a full length novel--its a novella length work (25K words), and is part of my Yancy Lazarus series.
