"do you have to go tomorrow?" Cheryl asked quietly as she pressed light kisses to Toni's lips, wanting to make the most of the last night they had together before Toni left to finish off the tour.

"I know it sucks baby but I gotta do it, but once the tours over then I will be back and staying around for awhile" Toni promised laying her hand on Cheryl's thigh. It was bandaged up, still wounded after the day she beat down that guy and smashed the camera. No charges went against her for it as the man had been touching Cheryl non consentually but eyes were on her after the stunt.

"can't I come with you?" Cheryl asked, knowing the answer but still wanting to ask in case there was any chance.

"babe for starters you don't even like my kind of music but also you have a job to do and kids to look after. They need their mum" Toni lightly squeezed her thigh and Cheryl just dropped her head, not excited for the week or so ahead without her.

"It's not fair" Cheryl huffed a little and stood up from the couch.

"I know babe but its what our situation is, it's not like I'm gonna be gone a month like last time" Toni stood up too and rested her hand on her arm.

"soon it will be all over" but Cheryl kept looking away, into the fire that warmed up their living room. "baby.." Cheryl turned her face to look at Toni.

"I don't trust her"

"who?"

"Kylie"

Toni was quiet for a moment, not sure of what to say to that.

"you know you don't have to worry about her" Toni came around in front of Cheryl.

"how do i know she won't make a move on you again? How do i know you won't give in to it?" Cheryl asked, Toni already didn't like where this conversation was going.

"because that was a one time mistake I'm jot repeating OK? You gotta trust me Cheryl" Toni crossed her arms looking her in the eye.

"trust you? And where did that get us last time?" Cheryl questioned, a sharpness to her tone.

"we weren't even together properly at the time! We were on our break!" Toni countered back her voice raising a little.

"that doesn't give you the right to go fuck your band mate" Cheryl scoffed and Toni shook her head.

"we weren't together, we had our break after we hit a rough patch, we weren't tied. I was sad and lonely and Kylie was there OK?! It could've been anyone else, fucks sake it could've been Jade or something. I just was trying to get feelings out" Toni tried to explain herself but Cheryl wasn't having any of it.

"I don't care if we weren't dating, you were still attatched to me. And it's good to know I gotta worry about all of them then, who knows who you might fuck cause you're depressed next. Doesn't help that your ex is coming wihh you!" Toni's jaw clenched a little trying to keep herself calm.

" Don't bring Veronica into this" Toni spoke lowly.

"oh so you're going to protect her now?! Toni for God's sake you are-"

"mum!" Daniel called out from the other room and Cheryl silenced.

"I will go get-"

"no, you stay in here and cool your shit off whilst I go to him" Toni turned away and went to Daniels room where he was sitting listening to heavy metal loudly

"hey bud what's up?" she asked sitting next to him and he looked at her hesitantly.

"I heard mummy shouting at you and I wanted to save you, she's scary sometimes" Toni's face dropped and she let out a small sigh "I didn't hear what it's about don't worry" he reassured.

"it wasn't a fight it was just a small disagreement. Mummys just stress cause I'm leaving for awhile. Nothing to worry about" she kissed the top of his head.

"I'm gonna miss you" he wrapped his arms around Toni's waist and held her gently.

"I'm gonna miss you too bud, but I need you to be brave and help mummy out with the twins and stuff around the house. I know it sucks but she's gonna need it" he nodded as an answer and laid his head on Toni's shoulder.

"alright, well I best go to bed as I need an early sleep as I have to get up early tomorrow. You should probably get to bed too" Daniel sprung up and turned off his music then slipped under the duvet covers. Toni tucked him in and kissed his forehead.

"I love you mum" he whispered.

"I love you too my little rockstar" she chuckled and left the room closing the door quietly. She went to the twins room and found them playing together on the floor.

"right you two time for lights out" she scooped them both up into her arms and rested one on each hip. They giggled and held onto Toni until she dropped them in their own beds, once again tucking them in.

"mum can you sing us to sleep" Amelia asked sweetly, looking up with her puppy dog eyes.

"hmm... Fine but just one song" Toni smiled and sat on the edge of her bed. Thomas looked over, his eyes not leaving Toni's.

"sitting here tonight... By the firelight.. It reminds me I already have more than I should"

Toni started to sing and Amelia smiled, snuggling down under her duvet and hugging her Teddy.

"I don't need fame, no one to know my name, at the end of the day, Lord I pray, I have a life that's good"

She swayed her body slightly as she sang and ran her fingers over her sleepy daughters forehead.

"two arms around me, heaven to ground me and a family that always calls me home, four wheels to get there, enough love to share and a sweet sweet sweet song, at the end of the day, Lord I pray... I have a life that's good"

Toni watched as Amelia and Thomas's eyes started to close slowly and they drifted off into a deep sleep. Toni felt a small tear fall down her cheek.

"love you guys" she pressed a light kiss to their foreheads. She didn't want to think about the argument before but it stuck in her mind, breaking her heart over and over.

"at the end of the day Lord I pray... I have a life that's good"

She hummed quietly to herself quietly and felt her phone buzz. She pulled it out, she saw Veronica's name pop up and she clicked the message.

Toni rolled her eyes playfully and chuckled quietly to herself and put her phone away in her pocket. She wiped away the tear and felt a small smile appear on her face. She eventually left the kids bedroom and went to her own. Cheyyl was already laying in the bed under the covers in darkness. Toni pulled her shirt off and threw it to the side and slipped into the bed, uncaring about the jeans she wore. She lay facing the other way and curled up a little, placing her phone on the bedside table.

"goodnight" Cheryl whispered but no answer came from Toni. She just closed her eyes exhausted and fell into a deep sleep.
