I have a license and my own car, but my mom still insisted on driving me to the museum. I guess it's because she's really excited for me. I'm really excited too, but it's still kind of whatever. We soon pull up to the front of the museum. I quickly look at the time on my phone. 5:57. Perfect timing.

"Well sweetie I hope you enjoy your first day at your first job," my mom says.

"I will. And I'll tell you all about it once I get home," I excitedly say.

"Alright. Just call me when your shift is over."

I jump out of the car and wave goodbye as I shut the door. My mom waves back and puts the car in gear and drives off. As soon as her car disappears from my eyesight, I walk towards the museum. As I walk inside, there was a guy who was probably in his late 30s, early 40s, talking to some kid. By accident I let the door slam behind me and the man and the kid look at me.

"Hey, uh, are you Y/N?" the guy asks as him and the kid walk over to me.

"Yeah I am. You must me Larry," I say, meeting them halfway.

"Yes that's correct. This is my son, Nick. He sometimes helps me out when his mother doesn't want to keep him hostage." He lets out a little chuckle and I look at him confused. "I'm divorced".

"Ohhh. That makes sense," I laugh nervously.

"Well since you arrived early, I can give you a tour of the museum before the chaos happens."

What's THAT supposed to mean?

"You'll find out later."

Crap. Did I say that out loud?

The tour nearly takes like an hour. He was telling me the names of all of the wax figures and other artifacts. I thought it was kind of weird, but I guess it was necessary. For the last part of the tour, he takes me down a dark hallway with giant Egyptian guards near the front of it.

"And last but DEFINITELY not least is the tomb of Ahkmenrah. This golden tablet right here," he says pointing at a golden tablet on the wall,"is his tablet. It is what brings all of the magic to the museum."

Nick looks up at his dad and smiles, and Larry smiles back. I look at them confused.

"You'll find out in about 10 minutes or so," he says looking at his watch. "Oh right and I have your uniform at the front desk so come follow me."

I follow him to the front and he goes behind the desk and gives me a navy blue uniform. "Go ahead and put this on."

I take the uniform out of his hand and walk away to find the bathroom. When I come back, Larry is huddled really close to Nick, probably whispering something that he doesn't want me to hear. They both look up at me as they notice I came back.

"Oh hey you're back," he says.

"Yep," I say rocking back and forth on my heels.

"So let's get down to business: whatever happens tonight, can only be kept a secret between, me, you, and Rebecca. Dr. McPhee can't know."

Ok this guy is really creeping me out. Maybe it was a bad idea to become a night guard.

"I know you're confused and possibly creeped out, but it's cool. Like REALLY cool."

"It's awesome," Nick says.

Now I'm really curious.

Larry quickly looks at his watch.

"Oh it's 7:00. Y/N, look carefully at Rexy and you'll be amazed."

I look at the giant T-Rex and nothing happens. A couple of seconds later I see movement.

Ok my eyes are deceiving me. There's NO WAY that thing just moved.

But everything I'm seeing is real. The T-Rex soon walks off of its platform and towards me, Nick, and Larry.

"No way!" I yell as Rexy roars loudly.
