《Our Ancient Love》Chapter 26: A New Beginning

Me and Ahk both run happily into the house. My parents look at us confused, wondering why we were so happy.
"Ok what's going on you two?" my mom asks as she puts her hands on her hips.
"You wanna tell them?" Ahk whispers. I nod my head.
"Mom. Dad," I pause. "I'm pregnant."
My dad starts coughing at the surprising news.
"Oh my goodness my baby girl is pregnant!" my mom squeals excitedly as she hugs me. "Honey isn't this amazing?!"
"Well how do you expect me to react? She's only 17 and is already expecting a child. I didn't want to be a grandfather this young."
"Dad. Either way I would've been pregnant. Our history is repeating itself and this time we won't let anything stop us from not having this baby." I hold Ahk's hand proudly.
My dad looks at both of us before saying anything else.
He sighs. "Well I guess you're right. If I remember correctly, you both were extremely prepared for the baby before—you know."
"I'll set up an appointment for you to have an ultrasound," my mom says as she leaves the room.
"By the way, I know that you both are expecting to relax and be lazy on Sunday but that's not happening. We're all going to do some last minute shopping, especially for you, young man," my dad says.
"Dad what are you going on about?" I ask.
"What? He needs some new clothes. He can't just live off of the two outfits that he has especially since he has my sweatpants. Speaking of that, how did you even get them?"
"Ok that's not important. We'll give them back to you as soon as we buy him new clothes. Now if you don't mind, we're going to go sleep." I grab Ahk's hand and we both walk upstairs.

When we both walk into my room I see that Sandy is laying on my bed.
"Ugh. Sandy!" I groan as I try to push her off my bed, but she doesn't budge. "Whatever. I'll just leave you there."
I walk over to my closet to grab my pajamas and Ahk sits on my bed and pets Sandy.
"So...when do you think we should get married?" Ahk says suddenly. I stop what I'm doing and slowly turn around.
"Ahk what?" I ask as I walk over to him.
"Well since we're already going to have a baby, I was thinking that we should try to get married soon."
"But we would never have time. That's a lot of planning."
"We do have the time. We have everyone in the museum to help us plan the wedding."
"But when and where would we even have it?"
Ahk shrugs.
"Well how about we first figure out everything with my pregnancy and then we'll try to discuss the wedding."
"Ok sounds good."
I kiss Ahk's forehead. I walk back over to my closet and throw his clothes to him.
"I definitely can't wait to get some new clothes," he says as he looks at the clothes.
"Well there's nothing wrong with those. You just need more than one outfit," I laugh.
"Yeah but I just feel bad that these sweatpants are your dad's and this shirt is yours."
"Ahk it's fine I promise. You can give us our clothes back after we go shopping."
Ahk nods and stands up to get dressed. I undo my button and look at my stomach. Obviously my pregnancy wasn't visible yet, but I just couldn't believe that there was something growing inside of me. I smile and hold my stomach and look at Ahk, who's already dressed.

"What are you smiling for?" Ahk smiles.
"Nothing. It's just I'm excited to be a mom," I say as I take off the rest of my clothes.
"Me too. Being a father is something I always dreamed about."
As I get dressed, I see something new about Ahk. His face gave a much happier expression than usual. I can tell that this is something that he really wanted and I honestly couldn't blame him. I walk over to the bed and sit down. I stare at Ahk as he has his hand on Sandy. He looks up at me and smiles before quickly looking at my stomach. He removes his hand from Sandy while he's still staring at my stomach.
I lay down and get myself comfortable. "Go ahead," I say. Ahk places his hand on my stomach and rubs it. He brings his head closer to my stomach.
"If you can hear me," he whispers, "I'm your father and me and your mother love you very much. You'll do great things in this world and you'll make everyone proud."
He looks up as he still has his hand on my stomach. He looks at me as I wipe a few tears away. Everything was happening so fast and I couldn't have been more excited.
