I glared at the other me. She showed sharp determination in her eyes.
"Good luck with that" She sneered. She lunged at me, her gun shining in the light of the sunset. I charged towards her and slid under her jump. It all transitioned into slow motion before going fast again. I sliced out my blade and let the metal gleam in the light. She threw a punch and I dodged it by a hair. I kicked her in the side and took a risky slice. I wince at the thought of piercing someones flesh. My eyelids slowly open and blinked a few times in confusion. I had...I stabbed her...
I got her in the side. It didn't bleed, it didn't even look real. But, before I knew it she began to melt...like turn into purple liquid. I watched as the space of her body slowly disappeared into the air. A little puddle of blood lay in the middle of a purple liquid, possibly my blood.
"Oh..." I really didn't expect that. I noticed a crowd of henchmen rushing towards me.
Uh...Run!
I sprinted through the fields and past trees until I made it to somewhere familiar. I pushed through a few bushes and noticed the Agency! I was breathing heavily.
The first thing to do is find Midas.
I dove into the water and swam to the shore of the Agency. I bolted into the front doors.
"Anyone! Hurry I need you!.....Midas!?"
At this point I couldn't give up...I just couldn't...
I ran outside into the new rain. Thunder rolled in the distance making my stomach turn. The clouds moved in fast and the sunset was almost no more. I couldn't let my frustrated tears blind me...so I held them back.

I circled the building and noticed a bunch of clones on one side. I carefully peek around the corner. A man with a white beard and distinct clothing joined them. He had a fresh scrape across his face and was also gripping his side...He'd been shot?
"I got him weakened for now" He huffed.
"Well done Riptide" The familiar masked lady remarked. "We'll deal with him later. For now we find Skye"
"Toxin, I just got notified that Y/N's alter failed" Hazard spoke.
"Of course it did..." Toxin complained. "Hopefully Chaos Agent will finally let me go to the next level next time"
"I know, it didn't work with the first Alters anyways" One person added.
Toxin paused for a moment. "Go find Y/N, she'll be the first to try my new method" Toxin ordered.
Everyone jumped to an assigned direction. They began the search...to find me.

I rushed back into the Agency and went into my room. I changed into some properclothing. I retrieved a few weapons and loaded up.
"There isn't going to be a next time" I whispered to myself. I opened up my door and immediately aimed towards my closest target. I had an AR with me. That was the best I could do. My accuracy with these things is another story.
I took my shot and made the person fall. It was the bearded man I saw, Riptide I believe. He groaned in agony.
"You.. seriously? Traitor" He scoffed.
"Uh huh" I pulled out his ear piece and threw it. I stepped over him and ran outdoors. I sprinted in the direction that man had came from to figure out who he'd 'weakened' . I stopped running when I noticed Midas his back against the grass with blood covered his chest and legs. His hands we tied with fishing twine and it had been cutting through his hands and wrists.

He looked so exhausted...
"Mi-Midas" My stomach began to hurt and I felt my heart become a lump in my throat. He lifted his hand shakily to my cheek as I bent over him.
"You're- alright" He whispered. After I cut the twine I held his hand as my tears escaped. I can't cry this isn't the time to cry...
"Please..." I sobbed. "Don't leave me...I haven't told you...that-".
Footsteps thundered behind me. My AR was too far so I ripped a revolver from one of Midas' holsters and took a shot even with hair plastered on my face. The body, which belonged to Hazard, tipped over going limp.
"I love you Midas..." My voice rasped.
(Next part is short because I had to get off at that time and I don't feel like deleting it and putting it on this one XD)

Now he must spend every waking and sleeping moment getting stronger to fight off the [Instance Dungeons] opening on both Vera, and Earth. Prepare for an RPG fiction full of magic, action, a touch of romance, and the author's own dry humor. When the modern technology of Earth meets the medieval magic of Vera, which culture will invade the other world first? When the army rangers of the United States collide with the members of the Hunter's Guild, who will win? Updates on Wednesdays/Thursdays Cover is my own creation. Tips to reading: This is my first book, so cliches and tropes are used as the base and then expanded upon. My intention is to make it a casual read but deep if you decide to look closer. I'm not a people person, so my focus and purpose for writing this is to explore the world building and magic system, not necessarily the characters. There won't be a villian until the postgame ;) Author's philosophy: I took an professional personality inventory (through a community college back in 2018) and was categorized as a "double-checker." I'm never satisfied with the work that I complete, and never want to share it with anyone. But this book is a challenge to myself! As a rule of thumb, I will only add to the story. I can't remove elements I've already included (unless absolutely, absolutely necessary). PS, I'm a native English speaker.
