Skye's POV:
This place smelled! It was such a yucky place, Ollie didn't seem to like it either. I tugged my arms forward again to see how loose the duck-tape was. It was fairly tight, they put a lot of layers around my body and left rope around my wrists. This was going to be fun...
Uh oh...I remembered the others that could have been taken! I hoped everyone was okay!

I sat there in the cell for hours it felt. My stomach gurgled at it's emptiness. Ollie whined every time I clutched my belly. I can't remember the last time I ate, clearly sometime ago.
"Hey girl scout!" a familiar voice rang. Sounded...like Midas? He's never called me that before.
"Midas! I'm over here!" I struggle in the tape.
"I'm not here to free you kid" A golden Midas crawled out of the Shadows. His face was frozen in gold, he wore a black undershirt than his typical white. I realized right away it was Shadow Midas.
"Scram, before someone comes to kick that bum of yours" I scowl.
"Goodness, you're rather feisty" He lifted a brow.
"Only when I want to be" I smirked. I would fold my arms if I could.
"Figured I'd keep you some company, I assume you'd like to be alone" Shadow M frowned.
"No wait!" He didn't seem that bad...I couldn't be too sure though. I asked him kindly if he'd like to play 'I spy' since I couldn't get my hands untied. We didn't play for too long...
"I spy....with my little eye...something...grey?" Shadow Midas slouched. Everything in here was either black or grey!
"H-how about we play something else?" I suggest. Midas stood up and straightened his tie.

"That's enough for now kiddo". It was so odd how nice he seemed. Midas was like a father to me, so strange....

Midas' POV:
"Sir, Shadow found a new recipe for alter copying" Journey handed me a file. I unfolded it and lifted up the Polaroid photos.
"Who took these?" I question "I do not recall sending out anyone"
"Renegade Shadow" Lynx joined in. "He's going to look for the missing agents". I nodded.
"This 'Renegade Shadow' better not let me down". I step up from my chair and head to my office. My golden curse was getting worse by the day. It took over limb by limb. My palms were sweaty (Moms spagetti XD) and my attire felt rather tight. I opened and closed my door quickly.
"Ah, hey boss" Tek shouted over the whirring of machinery in front of him.
"How's it coming along?"
"Uh...Not so good M" Tek smiled anxiously.
"Don't feel rushed but I would like it finished as soon as possible"
"I-i will do my upmost best sir" Tek responded.
"Maybe I should call in some help, a friend of mine" I begin.
"Who may that be boss?"
"My sister"

Tales from the Triverse
Tales from the Triverse is part detective drama, part fantasy adventure and part space opera. I’m influenced by the likes of Iain M Banks, Isaac Asimov and ND Stevenson and work including The Wire and Gotham Central. It begins with an incident two hundred years ago which crashed three parallel universes together. Portals open up in 18th century London, sending England down a very different path. We pick up events in the 1970s, with the Metropolitan Police having established a new department to handle portal-related criminal activity. The story is about intolerance, immigration, multiculturalism and power. It’s about what happens when incompatible viewpoints are weaponised to seed discontent, and the efforts of some to create a fairer world. In the tradition of the best science fiction, fantasy and crime fiction, I’m using the setting to examine themes that matter to me in the real world. Who is it for?If you like science fiction or fantasy, or a mix of both, this is for you. It’s my first foray into crime fiction, but I hope if you’re a fan that you’ll enjoy yourself - especially if you’re looking for something a bit different. I write fiction that is optimistic, progressive and empathetic. Bad things can happen to good people in the stories, but the overall arc tends to be hopeful. Note that if it were a movie, Tales from the Triverse would be a 15 certificate in the UK.
