"so?! he is staying here with us? " Aiden asked

"and you're okay with it ?! just what is dad thinking ?!"

"he even said he will never forgive him but he gave him access to our house just like that !" Joshua was devastated since the moment he opened the door and found Henry in front of him and all he could do is welcome him when he wanted to punch his face and reorganize it instead

"guys chill out, the damage is already done and none of us could have a say in this, after all, It's our parents' house and they have the right to bring in whoever they want "

"it's ours too Amanda !"

"we're old enough to have our own houses, we're actually living off of them, so the least we can do, is welcome their guests "

"First of all it's our mother's wish that we stay here with them till we get married or have some sort of work out of town, and second of all, he is NEVER welcomed, he is your EX-husband for god sake! and that X is there for a reason" he crossed both of his arms to create the letter X "it means a NO! HE.IS. an absolute freaking NO!"

I knew there was no need to have this conversation with Joshua now, he is too mad to even think straight "we've stayed here for too long, we need to go see if they need anything "

"I'll go, you better not cross paths with him !" Joshua was truly furious, he hated this, even more than I did...

None of us three could understand our father or his actions ...

"Mommy !" Louis called for me while I was in the kitchen. when I turned to look at him, I noticed Henry looking at us from the living room.

"Louis, your dad is here "

"so? "

"it's better not to call me mom in front of him, you kno-"

"it's fine, Papa said I can call you mommy "

What? ...when?...why?

"anyway, mommy, can I sleep with you tonight? "

"did you have other plans ?"

"what? "

"of course you would sleep with me, where did you think you will sleep? "

"the guest room with papa"

"you are MY son and not a guest "

"what about papa?"

"he's nothing to us so he is to stay at the guests' room " Joshua appeared in the kitchen to fill a glass of water before gulping it down in a second

"josh!" I hissed at him, not to say that in front of Louis but all he did was glare at Henry who was sitting awkwardly in the same spot he was for hours now

"where's uncle Aiden? "

"he's working now "

"but it's late"

I looked at the clock and it was truly late, we already had dinner and it was even past the bedtime of Louis

"let's go to sleep Louis "

"no, please just a little more " he whined

"Louis"

"please mommy, please " and he whined some more

"ten minutes that's all! "

"Okay!"

I turned to Joshua who was working on his pc while we were all seated in the living room watching tv and waiting for Aiden

"Should we just call him? "

"he said the shooting might take long, and we can't call him, since that will interrupt his work"

"still it's late "

"he's a grown man Amanda it's fine "

"I'm just feeling a bit uneasy "

"go to sleep, I will wait for him "

"I don't think I will be able to, I'll just wait with you "

"Louis needs to sleep too, so just go and get some rest "

"Alright, make sure to wake me, if there's anything tha-"

"just go woman! I need to work " he glared at me playfully

"fine!" and I returned that glare, sticking my tongue out at him making Louis burst out laughing which made us both join in

it was hard trying to sleep knowing that he is in the same house with us, my brain was trying constantly to find out why would my father do such thing, why would he allow him in after he, with his own lips, said that he would never forgive him

if giving him access to our home wasn't forgiveness then what is it?

in the middle of the debate that my brain was having, I gave up and chose to sleep knowing quite well that there was son use of all of this, all I have to do is be patient these couple of days until he leaves...

I was met with Henry's shadow in the kitchen first thing in the morning, I was about to turn around and go back to my room but he already spotted me

"good morning "

Patience... Just a couple more days and he will leave...this is my house, I don't need to be awkward in here, I mean, he's in OUR kitchen cooking like it's his own... so why should I run away?

"morning" I replied before I fetched a cup to fill it with juice

"what do your siblings like for breakfast ? " he asked while he was flipping the pancakes for Louis with his back facing me

"it's okay, I'll fix it for them, just have yours, I'll deal with the rest "

"I will do it, you made dinner last night, you could use some rest for now and I ca-"

"yo, sis! " Aiden's voice interrupted him so I turned to spot him running down the stairs coming straight to where I was

" When did you get here? why were you late ? was it hard for you? did you have dinner last night? was th-"

"chill !! too many questions "

" I was worried about you !!"

"you should have checked on me when you woke up then "

"I thought you were in the kitchen since I heard some noise coming from here "

He looked at Henry for a second then he diverted his attention back to me

"guess who I saw? "

"who? "

"Madeline "

"and? "

"and? she was super pretty, and she kept asking about you when she came to know I was your brother, she was super nice !"

"she is "

"But .." his face fell and he checked my state before he spoke cautiously "Edwin was with her ..they seemed pretty close ...I am just saying! I mean, I ju-" he was about to fret

"I know all about it Aiden, there's nothing going on between me and Edwin "

"was it after the fight you told me about? "

"yeah "

"That was actually why I was hesitant to tell you, it felt like you needed to know since it was already sinking and you needed to know that there was another hole behind you to fix but I didn't want to make you worry at the same time "

"it's fine, I already know about it, Madeline told me "

"coffee? " Henry asked Aiden who looked at him for a while then shook his head no turning to look back at me and sitting right beside me

"why would she tell you after she stole your man? "

"you just said she was nice "

"she is nice to me, she was sorry about making him confused, said that she didn't want to come in between and it was all work but he was shaken by her "

"and you're telling me she didn't do anything to shake him "

"can you try and be positive? this is not some drama where there is always a woman that separates the main leads... and guess what? I am no heroine "

"mommy? " Louis came down with his sleepy eyes and his blanket draped on his shoulders, behind him was Joshua drying his hair with a towel

"Yeah, honey ? do you need something? " I should start making breakfast since they are all awake now.

"no " he came running to me hugging my waist, and blocking my way, depriving me of taking any other step

"I need to fix breakfast for your uncles "

"We can do that much sis, so sit down and have yours "

"not really feeling like it "

before the two of them interrogated me, his voice was heard and the three of us fell silent "Louis go wash your hands and come eat "

"yes papa "

"How are things with Vic? "

"I was actually going to consult you about something but, we're not in the right situation to " Joshua kept hinting to henry that he was not welcome and the other pretended not to notice even though he did

"what happened? "

"it's okay, it can wait " he took a sip of his coffee and checked the files he brought down with him ten minutes ago while he was waiting for his coffee to brew

"so? what are you doing today? " Aiden asked me now

"still don't know, I actually want to rest, was hoping if you could go out with Louis if you don't have a shooting today "

"no schedule for the day so I can, but you'll help me read my script after that "

"deal "

"I need to go work, I won't be late so call me if you need anything, I'll buy it on the way " Joshua got up taking his bag and showing it off to Aiden and to me

"nice bag Joshua "

"I know, right? it was a gift "

"just get out " I smiled at him and he did the same while Aiden shook his head at him

it was the weekend and only Joshua the freelancer was the one to work out of the three of us, so the day started with breakfast then he left the scene and left us for an awkward lunch before the afternoon came and Aiden had to leave with Louis as he promised him

"soo...i just wanted to ask you...is he not going out?"

"I don't know "

"I don't want to leave you alone with him "

"then invite him to go out with you "

"that my dear sister is a no "

"do whatever you like I'm going to sleep anyway "

"fine sleepy head " Aiden stood up from the end of my bed, marching towards the door and turning its knob

"close the door behind you "

"sure "

I woke up after two and a half hours of sleeping, my whole body was already aching and I was super thirsty so I went down the stairs, heading straight to the kitchen but not before I noticed something my simple and complicated mind would have never imagined nor thought was possible...
