-Cassie's POV-

I peeked down from the cliff watching the waves crash into the cliffside. Elliot wasn't wrong this is a nice place to runaway too. Despite it being a 30 minute drive it was worth it. I wonder how he found this place, it's pretty secluded and covered by the massive tall trees.

Elliot came back from the car with some random blanket and set it on the ground. We both took a seat and just sat there in silence. I listened to the birds screeching about, and the waves. Yes this was indeed calming and it was letting myself think a bit.

"So...what happen between you and Ace?" Elliot broke the silence and I pursed my lips in a thin line.

"Damn no warning? Just gonna ask like that?" I joked and looked at him. He rolled his eyes and leaned back a bit.

"Yes, I'm not going to sugar coat it. I'm genuinely curious and concerned since you're not afraid of no one." Elliot explained.

"Ah you've been keeping an eye on me I see. Good to know." I said.

"Cassie..." He was very serious and I started to fiddle with my hands. I don't like telling the story since it was so haunting for a kid to see you know. Especially the betrayal I felt too.

"Ok remember how we had a war with the Black Hallow a few years ago?" I started.

"Yeah." He nodded his head trying to remember it.

"Well it started from there."

-A few years ago-

I wandered around the forest a bit looking for Ace, we were playing a rough game of tag and now he disappeared. He masked his scent on purpose so I couldn't find him easily. I was standing in a clearing and heightened my senses so I can hear everything around me. Then in that very moment I heard a rustling sound.

A shadow loomed over me and I quickly grabbed them by the collar of their shirt slamming them onto the ground. I was staring down at blue eyes and a stupid goofy smile appeared on their lips.

"Didn't need to be that rough!" Ace cried out.

"You jumped out of a tree?! I had every right to do that!" I smacked him in the arm and he groaned out in pain.

"You broke my back Cass!"Ace hit me back and at this point we were rolling on the ground wrestling fighting.

"Hey hey break it up!" My dad pulled us apart but we were still reaching for each other trying to at least get one good punch on each other.

"He started it!"

"No she did!"

"You guys are suppose to be best friends but you're fighting like this?" My dad shook his head. Me and Ace snorted and faced away from each other with our arms across our chest. My dad started to laugh, his hands landed on the top of our heads giving us a good ruffle.

"It's getting late why don't you two head back to the pack house." My dad ushered us down the path. The two of us just nodded our heads and continued to walk to the pack house.

Me and Ace didn't speak a word to each other at all. It was pure raging silence, I mean it's his fault he's the one that attacked me. I felt a nudge to my side and I glance to see Ace puckering his lips and I smacked his face.

"You're disgusting." I grumbled.

"Come on you know you love me! We're best friends!" He laughed out.

"Yeah yeah whatever." I nudged him back with my elbow and we laughed out a bit.

Ace has been a good friend of mines since I was 7 years old. We were like two peas in a pod and shared one brain cell literally. We cause trouble everywhere in the pack house with our pranks. No one could stop us, we were a perfect duo if I may say so myself.

"Hey Cass I just want to say I'm glad that you're apart of my life." Ace said out nowhere. I quirked my eyebrow from his sappy words. He never says things like this at all. In fact it kind of creeped me out just a tad bit.

"What's up with these sentimental words? Are you dying or something?" I questioned him followed by a laugh.

"No...I just want you to know that I'm just grateful for you." He spoke softly. My face felt hot all of a sudden. God he doesn't need to say it again.

"Yeah yeah I hear you, me too." I punched his arm softly and he chuckled.

Once we were at the back house, he left to go home and I went inside to go see my mom. She was talking to some other pack members, I snuck up behind her and grabbed onto her arm. She glanced down before smiling at me.

"You ready to go home?" She asked.

"Of course!" I nodded my head.

For the rest of night it was peaceful, everything was just normal. No threats or anything, everyone was at their home. To their families. My family were in the living room watching some movie, wasting away time until we needed to hit the hay.

Though it would've happened until my dad stood up, he looked alarmed. Toby and Jay also stood up on high alert themselves. I furrowed my eyebrows confused and glanced at my mom. She looked worried all of a sudden too.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Our pack is getting attacked! You two stay here ok, we'll be right back!" Dad ordered and started to gather his things. Toby and Jay were getting ready to fight too.

"I want to come! I'm apart of this pack too!" I cried out.

"No you stay here where it's safe." Dad grabbed my shoulders, he had a very stern look to his face and I nodded my head reluctantly.

The three of them left leaving me and my mom in the house alone. I was mad, no mad wasn't going to cut it. I was furious, I wanted to help out. I already shifted and I'm one of the strongest youngest warrior. I was mumbling bad words under my breath, which a kid like me shouldn't be saying at all.

"You look grumpy." My mom pinched my cheek and I huffed out.

"Of course I would! I know I'm the only daughter but I'm strong mom!" I cried out and leaned back into the couch roughly.

"We know you're strong but let them handle it, you're too young for war." My mom cooed.

"Jay and Toby are too young for war themselves." I pointed.

"They've seen death already you didn't." My mom explained. No I just think they're being sexist right now because I'm a girl. We all know Toby and Jay would end up ruling the pack. What's the point of being an alpha female if you can't have some of your own land.

Stupid werewolf hierarchy.

I should get my own land so I can rule over it. I'll demolish all the werewolf shenanigans and become the best ruler on these godly lands. Yeah I'll show them what a girl can do.

While I was fantasizing about my own little queendom, an abrupt shiver ran down my spine. As if it's warning that there is danger near. My mom sensed it too and stood up from the couch. She crept to the front door but didn't open it up. I felt it, there were some people at the front door. Their god awful stench filled my nose and I can feel my wolf coming up to the surface.

"Cassie go hi-" The door broke open and all I saw was my mom get tackled by a wolf. My instincts took over and I threw the wolf off my mom. I let out a warning growl and checked to see my moms condition. She had a big cut on her abdomen and was bleeding pretty badly.

"Calm down, I'll be alright." She grabbed my hand trying to calm me down but it was too late.

I went crazy, I don't know what exactly happen. Addie took over and it felt like I was in a state of sleep. All I smelt was blood all around me and that's what woke me up from my state of frenzy. There was just 4 dead wolf bodies surrounding me and I stumbled back. My hands were covered in blood and I was so confused.

"Cassie..."

I turned around and saw Ace covered in blood. It wasn't his blood though, this scent was my own pack members. His scent changed too, it was vile very vile. I covered my nose with my forearm and was immediately put on defensive.

"Ace you smell like a rogue!" I yelled at him. The innocent look in his eyes changed, it was more devilish and that was the only way I can describe it. This wasn't the Ace I know at all.

"I really didn't want to do this you know, I really care for you." Ace spoke and shook his head.

He began to walk towards me and I just try to keep our distance from each other. I know he's a threat but I can't attack him. My mind was so confused right now, my best friend betrayed me. The pack even, killing my members!

A member of my pack popped out of nowhere ready to attack Ace. It latched onto Ace but I couldn't see since the wold was towering over him. Not until the wolf stopped moving and fell limp to the ground. I saw something shiny on the wolves chest and immediately recognized what it was. How did Ace obtain a silver knife?!

"Ace how could you betray us!?" I snapped at him.

"Betray? Do you know how long I was waiting for this moment?!" He yelled My eyes widened in shock, this was fabricated by him. His family.

"You...planned all of this?" I asked.

"What did your father expect taking in members from a pack he destroyed ruthlessly?" Ace scoffed. I gritted my teeth and started walking up to him with heavy steps.

"You lied. To my family! The members! Even me! How could you?!" I yelled as I started to throw punches at him.

"An eye for an eye, he killed my family so I will kill his too." Ace seethed.

Ace swept his feet under me, causing me to fall to the ground. He brought down a silver knife and I tried to dodge but it was lodged into my shoulder. I screamed out in pain and tried to push him off of me. He held me down with ease and I can feel my left shoulder becoming numb from the silver.

"I hate you! I hate you so much!" I yelled at him, I grabbed a lock of his hair pulling on it harshly bringing towards me so I can head-bud him. Our foreheads clashed harshly and I can feel some wet liquid running down my forehead. It was his and mines blood from the impact. We stared at each other in the eyes and I couldn't help but catch the guilt in his eyes.

"Don't look guilty now after what you've done you piece of shit!" I snapped.

"I'm sorry." He muttered as I saw the silver knife coming towards my neck.

After that I don't know what happened, everything turned black. When I did end up waking up I was in the packs hospital all bandaged up. I had a lot of wounds on my body that I didn't even know how I got them. Somehow out of all the members of my family I was in the worse conditions. There was traces of silver inside of my bloodstream so it took a month for me to even get better. I asked what happened to Ace and they wouldn't tell me. All they said when they arrived me and him were near death.

Dad finished off the war with the Black Hollow Pack it lasted about 3 months. Ace joined hands with our enemy pack after his parents were killed. He made a vow to sell revenge and he was very close to obtaining it. Once the war was done, we never heard from Ace ever again it was like he never existed.

I didn't even know if he was alive or not.

-Present-

"And that's what happen, I ended getting a lot of scar as you can see." I showed my arms with the old scars from my wounds. Elliot kept quiet but his eyes held so much emotion, mostly anger. He look like he was about to kill Ace if it were possible.

"I'm fine now, still traumatizing actually. I just wished I knew what happened after I blacked out. I might've went crazy and fought him." I laughed out.

"Cassie this is serious!" Elliot cried out.

"I know! But we can't do nothing unless he actually does something suspicious right now he's behaving. Who knows how long it will last though." I grumbled and laid down on the ground. Elliot copied my actions laying next to me.

"I'll keep a close eye on him." He said sternly.

"No we will keep a close eye on him, we're a team right now as of today." I pointed out.

"That sounds so corny."

"I'm going to say it again...shut up."

"Yes ma'am."

-The Next Day-

I was standing around my locker, rethinking about yesterday. I can't believe I even told Elliot all of that. Like we're actually at this point to talk about our deepest darkest secret us two? Like I said I must be going insane, I mean I don't mind being around him anymore. I don't have the need to choke the life out of him anymore.

"Cassie, can we please talk?" I glanced to the side and looked at him with a blank look.

"No." I said dryly and Ace sighed out. Before he can say anything the man himself Elliot popped out of nowhere creating a wall. If that wasn't enough Toby and Jay even surrounded him with murderous look. It is nice to have 3 alphas protecting you after all.

"Is this the alpha club or some shit." Ace looked between the three of them.

"Yeah if it's for my little sister, then yes you rat." Toby seethed. I laughed a bit and opened my locker. A white piece of paper fell down and I kneeled down to pick it up. A horrible scent was on it and I inspected the letter.

"Watch your back." I raised an eyebrow. Is this some middle school shit or something. Because if it's a threat it's not that convincing. However I won't ignore the horrible scent that doesn't belong to any of our friendly packs go unnoticed.

"Interesting?" I showed the note to the other three and Toby eye twitched in annoyance.

"Is this a threat?" Toby asked.

"Yes? I guess, the scent is horrible by the way. It's a rogue." I pointed out and handed it to him. Jay sighed out and nodded his head.

"I'll inform the borders to inspect is there's anything suspicious and we'll tell our council." Jay crumbled up the paper in his hand. I looked past them and forgot Ace was still here.

"Got something to say Ace?" I asked him.

"No I don't." He shook his head. I eyed his suspiciously and closed my locker. I'll make sure to keep a very close eye on him right now. My phone went off and I checked to see a chain message involving the students in the school.

"Beach party this Friday!"

Oh great, even better.

-Anonymous POV-

I walked down the long corridor heading to the meeting room. Once I was standing in front of the doors, I took in a deep breath and opened it. My alpha was sitting in his chair completing some papers, when he noticed me he looked up.

"So was there any advancements?" He asked.

"No sir, she's not exactly easy to get to. I mean she has a heard of alphas surrounding him. Especially that O'Connor brat." I said.

My alpha intertwined his fingers and leaned back into his chair while slowly nodding his head. His head tilted to the side and I saw a mischievous glint form in his eyes.

"Take away someone precious to her, then she won't have no choice but to come to me." He ordered.

"Yes sir!" I saluted him and left the room.

Oh Cassie you don't know what's coming for you.
