《My Rejected Mate》20

* A time skip happened, to the end of their senior year*
-Cassie's POV-
I was staring at my cap and gown, I can't believe it I'm going to graduate tomorrow. It's been hell for me at school, I'll admit. When you know that whole war happened catching up seriously took a toll on me. I've never had to pack so much information in my head at one time. Creating a strategic plan for battles are easier than this. Now here I am, at the top of my class graduating.
God Cassie you are one smart girl.
"You're so cocky."
"Shut it Nyx."
I turned to the side to see her laying on my bed. She completely adapted her time on earth that's for sure. She's decided to start wearing my clothes. The audacity of her really. Though I'll admit she grew on me a lot. Very annoying in the beginning, but now she feels like an annoying little sister you can't hate.
"Can't wait to see my god children in the future, they're so cute." She gushed.
"You can see into the future?" I asked her.
"Every werewolves path is connected to me, like a million of strings connected to me. I can pick their faith." She's playing god, which literally she is. It freaks me out a bit knowing she knows my future and I rather now not about it. Let's keep it a surprise.
"Do you wanna know your future?" Nyx asked excitedly.
"No let's not try to change the future ok?" I declined quickly.
"You're no fun, I'm going to play with David bye." She huffed out and rolled out of my bed.
"Yeah you go ahead and do that." I shooed her away.
Nyx and David became the best of buds, she really does treat David like she actually is her kid. Nyx told me how she even got to become a moon goddess. She just opened her eyes one day not knowing who or where she was. All she saw were stars in front of her in the night sky. Herself didn't know how she became into the existence, no parents or anything. She hypothesis it could've been someone desire and wished for her own existence.
She created the first werewolf by giving 4 people her blood and that's how we became into existence. Nyx always wanted a kid her own self but she couldn't since she was locked away in realm all by herself. So that's why she probably adores David a lot.
I pity her.
"What are you thinking about?" I glanced towards the door and saw Elliot leaning against the door frame.
"Nothing really, just life." I sighed out and sat down on my bed. I patted to the spot next to me and he happily came up to sit down. I rested my head on his shoulder and started to play with his hand.

"After we graduate you're going to focus on doing alpha duties huh?" I asked.
"Yes I'll be doing that and school, I might just cry." Elliot groaned out.
"That really sucks." I clicked my tongue.
"Did you forget you have to start learning how to be a luna?" I sat up and looked away while whistling.
"Cassie..."
"Yes?"
"You can't ignore your duties." I know that, I basically become the mother of a pack. I don't even know how to deal with children when hey cry how can they expect me to do that?! Just thinking about being a Luna makes me want to cry.
"I know, I know and I won't I'll do it of course. Can't drag you down, I'll do my part." I muttered. Elliot pulled one ear and I glared at him.
"You know you're cute when you sulk." He pointed out.
"Flattery won't make me feel better." I snorted.
"You're right but will this?" Elliot pulled something out of his pocket. A chain unraveled to reveal a ring with a blue stone. It looked extremely expensive. Where did he get this?!
"Is this for me?" I pointed to myself.
"Yeah who else?" Elliot placed the necklace in my hand and I just stared at it. It was indeed very beautiful. The stone was like a very light colored blue, and depending when you move it will get a bit white.
"What's the occasion?" I asked.
"It's your graduation present and a promise ring." Elliot looked proud of himself when he said that and I started to laugh.
"You're suck a dork." I laughed. Elliot pulled out a similar ring our from under his shirt, it rested on the chain. I put the chain around my neck and fiddled with the ring. I can feel my face getting hot, I don't really like getting presents and such.
"I'll get you something too for graduation." I said.
"No need too." He declined quickly.
"What why not?!" I exclaimed.
"Because I wanted to do this, you don't need to feel obligated to give me something in return." Elliot waved his hand in front of him. I furrowed my eyebrows and leaned closed to his face.
"But I want to give you something, so I will." I said determinedly.
"Oh really?"He challenged and his forehead connected with mines.
"Yep." With that I gave him a quick peck on the lips and stood up from my bed. I started to walk towards my door while laughing evilly.
"Oh come on you can't just do that and leave!" Elliot said as he stared to follow me out of my room.
"And I did what are you going to do about it?"

Thus the game cat and mouse started around my house.

"Congratulations graduating everyone!" The principal spoke into the mic. Caps flew up into the air immediately and the feeling of relief fell over me. Finally done with this hell hole on to the next one. I started to try to get away from the sea of bodies so I can find Elliot and my family.
A hand grabbed onto my wrist spinning me around, a pair of lips connected with mines. When I tell you was in complete shock I was. Elliot pulled away and started to shower me with kisses.
"Look at these two lovebirds sick." Jay faked gagged and I rolled my eyes.
"Ok Mr.I'll steal the stars if I have to." I quoted his words to Lily and his mouth fell open.
"Dude that's so corny ew." Toby cringed.
"Shut up! It's not one of my proudest moments!" Jay covered his face with his hands. 1 Cassie 0 Jay.
"Yeah that like made me clench my hands on how cringey it was." Elliot joined in. Jay made a choking gestured towards him.
We decided to stop making fun of Jay and met up with out parents. The plan after today is to have a party at Elliot's pack for the graduating class. I have a feeling it will either end good or crazy. There's no in between especially since it's full of majority go hyperactive teens. I was dragged into this shenanigans actually, I was forced to participate.
Once we did meet with our parents we did depart to get ready for the party. The food was already there, and all there was to decorate the place. I was in charge of blowing up the balloons and setting the tables. Elliot, Jay and Toby were in charge of hanging things. Which I really don't trust them to do, considering they sometimes argue. And I don't want them arguing while being a few feet above the ground.
The party didn't start yet but there were people already showing up. Everything was pretty much set so it really didn't bother me in particular. Though as more people began to come it quickly got crowded. The loud music filled my ears with everyones chattering. Like I said I'm not the biggest partier, I slowly began to disappear into the background trying to get away.
I rather not be a buzzkill and enjoy myself somewhere more relaxed. I won't deny, I did steal a few plates of food for myself. I walked down the semi-lit path until I was in a nice clearing. I brought a blanket with me so I can set it down. I put the plate on top of the blanket and sat down.
The muffled music filled in the quiet air that I was in and I just stared up at the sky. This will be my final moments of peacefulness since I'm starting my duties to become a Luna in the future. Summer vacation is nonexistent for me this time and then I'm off to college. I big sigh left my mouth and I plucked a fry in my mouth.
I won't have a life.
"You're sighing on this wonderful day."
"Yes, yes I am Elliot." I said as I held up the bag of chips which he happily accepted. Elliot took a seat next to me and he leaned against me on purpose.
"Why are you sighing for?" He asked as he kept putting more of his weight on me.
"Because this summer will be gruesome." I said as I decided to push against him on purpose.
"Yeah it will, I wonder if we can even spend time with each other." Elliot this time sighed out. We're going to be super busy, more so him though
"We'll somehow make time for each other, compare to me you will be more busy. So I think I'll visit you whenever I'm free." I explained. Elliot just nodded his head and decided to lay his head in my lap.
Oh that reminds me.
"Here." I took out a black box and handed it to him. He opened it up to reveal a black stone bracelet which may I add I almost sold my liver to the black market. Real stones are expensive you know.
"Cassie! I told you not to get me anything!" He sat up quickly and I shrugged my shoulder.
"Well you got to accept it now cause I lost the receipt." I raise my hand up in the air and he shook his head. I in fact did not lose the receipt but he doesn't know that.
"I can't believe, I bet this cost a fortune." Elliot said as he held it delicately in his hands.
"I will not comment on the price." Let's not get a reminder of that price, almost broke down. However after investigating the cost of this ring I call it fair game.
"Thanks, I will cherish it. I'll bury it with me when I die." He hugged me tightly and I pulled back with raised eyebrows.
"That's like so morbid, let's not talk about death." I said.
"You're right, let's not think about that." Elliot suddenly fell backwards dragging me down with him. I was laying on top of him and he just kept me in a very tight hold.
And we just stayed there talking about anything that came up to our minds.

Sky and Star were raised as brother and sister. As they got older they began to realize that there was much about them that was completely unexplainable and deliberately being hidden from them. Struggling with the feelings they were raised to believe they shouldn't have for one another, and all the pain that causes them, the two search desperately to uncover the truth about who... or what they really are. (This book is completed, so the plan was to post 1 chapter each day until the end) *This story does deal with difficult issues such as suicide, abuse and rape. Though I try to do so in the most realistic, sensitive and sympathetic way possible. So be advised that these themes are included in the book. And I hope you'll give it a chance nonetheless.* *Yet another disclaimer: Yes, there are teenagers involved in consensual sexual relationships with other teenagers in this book. Which is also a more than common occurence in hundreds of other books, shows and films, (not to mention a common occurence in real life, even though this is a fantasy story with characters who may or may not even be fully human), so if you have a problem with troubled teens behaving like troubled teens, then you probably shouldn't read this book.*
