《The Infection (RWBY x Abused Male Reader)》7. The Reunion

"Ahhh," Y/n sighed contently as he took another sip of the coffee laying before him.
"So, Blake. Why did you invite me here?"
"I remember you, working with Torchwick."
"Oh, that."
"If anyone knew you could get expelled."
"Trust me, I have that covered."
Y/n was too tired to go into detail about his admittance into Beacon academy, the tiredness was on account that he had too many nightmares last night to sleep.
"How did you end up with Torchwick?"
"It's a long story..."
Y/n spent the next hour detailing his early childhood abuse. Blakes face either became disgusted or infuriated as Y/n went into vivid detail.
"I'll never look at Yang the same again."
"Friends close, enemies closer I suppose. How did you end up with Adam?"
Now it was Blakes turn to talk about her abusive ex. She described how he would mentally and emotionally abuse her so much so that she felt guilty about leaving.
Y/n was sympathetic to her plight as at least his abusers had been upfront about it. Adam had dug his claws so deep into her that she had struggled to even recognise that she was being manipulated. Once Blake was done she composed herself for a second and asked Y/n another question.
"What did you do all those years while working for Torchwick?"
Y/n had to think for a second, he had done so much after all.
"In the early days, I was mainly a helper in the heists while Roman trained me. Later on, he had me kidnapping and extorting with a sprinkle of bribery. I hadn't felt guilty as it wasn't really hurting anyone too badly. The guilt came when he asked me to commit murder. I had been thinking he'd ask me to do it eventually but it was still a shock."
"Did you do it?"
"I... the target was a rival of Roman's, his name was Oliver Winchester."
"Cardin's father."
"The one and only. He had been killing some of Roman's goons and trying to invade his territory. Roman thought enough was enough and sent me to kill him. I had him dead to rights, he was unarmed and asleep, it would have been quick and painless."
"Did... did you pull the trigger."
"Blake... you gotta understand that people with weak stomachs tend to starve. And I was sick of going hungry."
Blake just sat there, stunned that Y/n had committed cold-blooded murder.
"Blake please don't look at me any different. You know what I had been through and that I would starve if I didn't."

"Now you know how Yang feels."
Blake stood up and left as Y/n sat, contemplating Blakes retort
She was right.
Fuck.
Y/n realised that he might finally, after all these years, have to make amends with Yang. He decided to go with her on a mission to gather information about the white fang.
Y/n had walked back to Beacon and asked Yang if he could accompany her on her mission. Yang was obviously surprised about the offer, but she also saw it as an offer of reconciliation. She accepted Y/n's offer and they sped off heading to an unknown location, unknown to Y/n at least.
Yang pulled up outside of Juniors club and headed inside while Y/n waited on the bike, he had somewhat of a reputation here. Y/n heard yelling inside and glimpsed a brief scuffle through a crack in the door. Yang was thrown out and landed on her ass as the bouncers dusted their hands off and walked back inside.
Y/n sighed to himself and walked inside. This might get bloody. As he opened the doors everyone looked expecting it to be a fiery blonde but instead, they saw one of the most feared criminal enforcers in the city. Everyone turned away and went back to their drinks, some gave Y/n the occasional apprehensible look. Y/n walked up to the bar and ordered a whiskey on the rocks. Junior walked over and sat down next to Y/n.
"What... what do you want?" Y/n could hear the tremble in his voice, it looked like his reputation was still as fierce as always.
"I need information."
"What kind?"
"White fang. Who, where and why."
"I can't just tell you tha-"
Y/n grabbed JUnior by the scruff of his collar and gave him a look that would make hardened veterans shiver in their boots.
"Have you forgotten who I am, have you forgotten what I've done?"
"No.. no of course not, the information is just sensitive, that's all."
"Tell. Me. Everything."
Junior spent the next twenty minutes giving the lowdown to Y/n about white fang supplies, troop movements, leader locations and weaponry level.
"Thank you for your service." Y/n said as he strode away from the bumbling Junior.
He walked outside and hopped back on Yang's bike.
"I got what we came for, let's go."
"How did yo-"
"It doesn't matter, just drive."
Yang drove back to Beacon wondering how her adopted brother, one who had 5 years ago been an underfed wreck, had managed to gain such notoriety in the criminal underworld. Only an act of unimaginable brutality would have gained juniors respect. Yang shivered and focused on driving.

"What did you find?" Ruby asked Y/n as the rest of team RWBY listened with rapt attention in their dorm.
"The white fang are planning to steal a shipment of Schnee corporation dust. It's happening at the docks in about 3 hours."
"How did you get the information?" asked a curious Weiss.
"I have my connections."
The tone of Y/n's voice meant it was the end of that conversation.
"Well then, let's go."
The team left Beacon and made their separate ways to the docks.
They joined up on the roof of a warehouse overlooking the docks and made a plan to try and foil the white fang. Everyone jumped into action and took their positions around the docks, waiting for the white fangs dropships.
They heard them first, the drone of the engines, then they saw them land and begin loading up the dust shipments.
Y/n was stationed behind one of the crates, observing how many troops there were and where they were stationed. He was just about to start knocking out the sentries when he saw his former boss, Roman Torchwick, hop off one of the dropships and berate the troops for going to slow. This wasn't part of the plan. Roman wasn't meant to be involved with the white fang. Y/n realised just how big this operation was.
Y/n stepped out of his cover with the intention to confront Roman.
"Roman!" Y/n yelled, grabbing the attention of the man in question.
"My my my, How nice to see you again Y/n. How have you been? How's Beacon?"
"Enough games, why are you working with the white fang?"
"Business, I'm sure you understand."
"I have to stop you."
"Oh come now, would you really fight such an old friend. Don't you remember what I saved you from, you'd be nothing without me. "
"You're dead."
"Is that a threat?"
"It's a promise."
Y/n teleported behind Roman and slashed at him with his blade, Roman knew Y/n's fighting style and easily blocked the blow. Y/n teleported around Roman and started firing shots from random positions around the docks. Roman blocked all of them.
"I taught you everything you know, I know all of your moves, you can't beat me."
"Then maybe I should try something different."
Y/n teleported right in front of Roman and attacked him by simultaneously shooting him and slashing, hacking and stabbing. Roman was hard-pressed to defend against the rapid attack. Y/n just sped up, shooting faster and aiming with precision so that Roman had to block shots strategically far away from every sword strike. After a full minute of this, one of Y/n's shots finally hit him, making his stumble slightly which was enough of an opening for Y/n to fire more shots into him.
Roman was on his knees, his aura broken.
He raised his hand.
"Y/n, please."
"I made a promise." He brought his sword to Romans throat.
"I intend to keep it."
He slit Roman's throat and his body fell to the floor, lifeless.
Y/n wiped Romans blood off his sword using Romans own jacket.
Y/n teleported back to his original posting just as team RWBY showed up.
"I've taken out the guards, now it's just hi-"
Ruby let out a gasp of surprise as she saw Romans dead body in the distance.
"He... He's dead."
"What!?" Y/n feigned surprise.
The team walked over to the body and examined the wounds. A cut throat.
"Whoever did this was a cowardly assassin."
"I bet the white fang got fed up with working for a human."
"Yeah, probably," said Blake
The team went back to Beacon and celebrated their success far into the night. The dorm next door could hear them very well, causing Pyrrha to not be able to fall asleep. She decided she would go on a late-night run to tire herself so it would be easier to sleep. She quietly slipped out of the dorm, hoping not to wake the rest of her team, she noticed that Nora and Ren weren't in their beds. Strange.
Pyrrha jogged through the school and eventually stumbled across a classroom with the lights on. Pyrrha also heard voices inside and decided to investigate.
"Welcome to our newest member, visiting from Atlas, Winter Schnee."
Weiss' sister? what the hell was she doing here?
"Thank you, master, I hope I can be of service."
"Now, who shall our next target be?"
Pyrrha inched open the door to see her teammates inside. She out an involuntary gasp of surprise which drew the attention of everyone in the room.
"Well, who do we have here?"
Pyrrha tried to run away but Winter had already grabbed her and dragged her in front of Cinder.
"The great champion herself, Pyrrha Nikos."
Pyrrha spat at Cinders feet.
"How rude, soon you'll be kissing those feet."
Nora and Ren walked behind Pyrrha and pushed her down to her knees.
"W-what are you doing?"
"Don't fret Pyrrha, you'll soon be at peace."
"Ren? Ren stop this now, REN!"
He placed an egg on her shoulder which slowly cracked to reveal a worm that slithered into Pyrrha's ear.
Ren and Nora moved away from their teammate as she started violently convulsing on the floor.
She stopped convulsing and sat up, looking at Cinder.
"I'm ready to serve, master."
"Good, very good."

Tim the Engineer
Summoned against his will to a world of swords and magic, an engineering student struggles to find a way home under the shadow of a world devouring threat. ***************************** Updates: 5/13/19: Revisions to several chapters for clarity, grammar, and style. 4/29/19: A short side story and artwork has been added to the blog. 4/8/19: A Side Story has been updated on my new blog (every writer is required to have one). https://talesfromliahar.wordpress.com/ ***************************** “The summoning scenarios are broken down into groups of ten.” Emi Ito stated. “Don’t, don’t you dare say another word.” Muttered Genzo Uchida. His eyes had turned bloodshot and his hands shook with rage. “The first thirty…” “Shut up!” Genzo bellowed “How dare you help these disrespectful gaijin?” Flecks of spit and madness flew from his face, his fist raised ready to strike. But Emi did not flinch, instead she was about ready to continue when Yuma Takeuchi interrupted her. “Uchida, please,” her sweet sounding words could melt ice. “I think we will have a better chance of getting home if we all work together.” When she glanced up with her sleepy looking eyes at Genzo Uchida he deflated visibly. “Were not getting home.” Uchida said coolly. “Group summoning, large, that puts us in the 60 series. No one came to greet us after five minutes of arrival. That leaves scenarios 68 and 69. In scenario 68 there is something that binds the large group together; they are all classmates or a single family. But thanks to the gaijin” he spit out the word “I think we are scenario 69 with no way home.” Ikko Inoue’s eyes went wide, while Katsukno and Hayata started muttering to themselves. Tim took on a serious look and rubbed his scruffy chin. Emi maintained her stoic expression while trying to find something to refute. McKenzie glanced at Randall and giggled. Randall took the prompting of his teammate and followed up by approaching Genzo. “Uh, so we are in a sixty-nine?” “Yes.” Replied Genzo with the seriousness of someone who’s life was about to end. McKenzie covered her mouth and snickered. “You and me, were stuck in a sixty-nine situation?” Randall pushed with a grin. “Yes, we are all stuck in a sixty-nine scenario together!” Genzo retorted in anger. McKenzie fell on her butt laughing. “What the hell is so funny?” Demanded Genzo, whose face had turned red. “It’s a problem with the automatic translation.” Retorted Tim. Randall, who seemed unable to quit started in again “So, about this sixty-ni…” Genzo interrupted Randall with a swift punch to the face. But, because of their height difference it was a bit of an uppercut that left Randall rattled. Tim and Ikko moved to step in between the two, but Genzo showed no further hostility. Instead he just stared at his clenched fist with such intensity it grabbed the attention of the room. “I unlocked a skill.” He said bluntly. ***************************** This is not a light novel, but people who like light novels should enjoy the themes of this book. ***************************** A Map of the Region

The Archaic Elements
A fantasy world, its own unique power-up system, some mystery aspects to make it look interesting and an MC that should make sense but well messes up, cause plot. Flashy fights. Characters will use their brain, unless it is an arrogant young master that needs to be taught a lesson. The starting is slow and maybe boring. The main MC does not desire great strength or harbor any great ambition. He starts out as a naive, lazy and a boring person. But the story does hold one aspect which will fuel the growth of our MC, which is his boundless curiosity for adventure and his will to explore. The second MC is a reincarnation/transmigration and he has a clear cut aim that he needs to achieve. His past life experiences also becomes a pillar that will help guide the main MC, while his friend also supports him. The writing is slow and steady. I will provide reasonings behind most happenings and keep it a logical story. It's a WIP as I edit the previous chapters even as I release more, so while the content doesn't change, the style and smoothness improve. The current release rate is 3 chapter/week. There is no specific date as I can get sidetracked or forgetful., but I will try to stick to Tues, Thurs and Sunday releases.
