《Possession》Chapter One

Lunar's POV
"So, how'd it go?!," Mathis stared at me, shaking me. My face felt cold with paleness, my throat dry and my body shaking. My silence only encouraged her, "Speak, Dumbass! Speak!!"
"I-I st-start t-tomorrow," I finally spoke out, those very words making my legs weak as she squealed jumping up and down. My entire world felt like it was spinning, I was a nervous wreck, ready to drown and plummet into the abyss of an anxiety attack.
"We've got to celebrate, Dude!!" She danced, shoving my bag and my board at me. I grabbed them, my hands trembling as I followed her out of the building.
"C-Can we walk?" When she attempted to hop onto her board I breathed out, "I-I feel like I might faint if we start skating."
My entire body was trembling, my breathing quivering as I tried to settle myself down. She laughed with a nod, "Let's get you something to drink and find us a place to sit."
Bringing me over to a Wendy's, it felt like I was being watched but I couldn't tell from where. I tried to brush the feeling away but it wouldn't back off.
Mathis had me sit on a bench outside while she went inside to order us something to eat. She felt like the air would help me relax. I put my elbows onto my knees, leaning my face against my hands as I took slow deep breaths. I jumped at her return, earning a laugh from her as she said, "Damn, you are a mess right now."
Leaning my head back, I breathed out, "A-A little bit. Wh-What did you get us?"
"A couple of Frosties and two Baconators."
My face scrunched up in disgust, "I'm on a diet."
It hurt to lie to her but I couldn't tell her the real reason why that food was disgusting to me.
"Well, today you're not," She forced, shoving the burger at me. I swallowed hard, staring at it in my hands. Looking at it made me sick to my stomach. She took a big bite from her food, a smile forming as she let out a happy little groan, her head leaning back, "My Beloved Elysium, I love Wendy's!"

I kept staring at my food, the pit in my stomach growing bigger and bigger. Her attention started to turn towards me as my throat locked up. She had never really seen me eat. I hated eating, it made me feel gross. Swallowing hard, I breathed, "I-I've got to use the restroom."
Launching off the bench I rushed inside, running into the bathroom and a stall before hurling my guts out. After about ten minutes of throwing up, I dragged myself to the sinks, washing my mouth out and washing my face. Once finished I wiped myself off and slowly trudged out of the bathroom, shoving a couple of mints into my mouth as I came back over to her.
"You alright, Lune?" Mathis asked, concern and worry filling her voice as she stood up.
"I-I'm fine," I grinned weakly, "I-I guess I just ate something bad this morning."
She gave me a warm hug. She rarely hugged so when she did it always meant she cared. That only made lying to her hurt more.
"I'm alright, Praying Mantis," I hugged back tight, "Why don't we head to the park or something, huh? Loosen up our joints and have some fun?"
Grinning up at me, she nodded, joining me as we hopped onto our boards and started to roll to the park. The feeling of being watched never faded, it only seemed to be getting worse but I refused to let it get to me as I connected my phone back to Mathis' speaker.
"We are...," Mathis instantly sang out loud with the song as soon as she heard the music. I laughed as she looked over at me and jammed out. Hollywood Undead was our band. The band that brought us together.
"If you can lose it all...," I rapped, grinning at her as she clapped her hands in glee. She loved it when I rapped. I kicked the board faster, trying hard to not laugh as I continued, "...when I breathe!"
She watched me jump over a few flights of stairs, doing the same as she cackled, both of us passing a large group of teenagers. A few of them yelled as we passed them, chanting to some of the lyrics, "...so baby don't tempt me!"

"OHHH!" We hollered while raising our arms in the air in victory. After six years we had finally succeeded in getting a group of teens to sing along with us. We chortled more as we heard them yell along with us, our screeches chaotic and goofy, "We are made from broken parts!"
High-fiving, Mathis and I kept rolling, jumping over a railing, and landing back on the ground. My attention was still towards her when she yelled, "You Idiot, pay attention!"
Turning my eyes forward, my board slammed against a fountain, my body flying forward and landing into the water of the said reservoir, "Shit!"
"You fucking dumbass!" She giggled as I stood up, shaking my hair.
Stepping out, I laughed, "Come give me a hug."
"No!" She squealed at me, running away as I stepped towards her, "Let's hope your phone's alright."
"FUCK," I panicked, pulling it out of my pocket at that very moment, checking it, "Please, work!"
It worked.
"Thank Elysium!" I shoved it into my bag, pulling my focus back to her with a smirk, "Come here!"
She shrieked as she ran away from me, "No! Stop!"
I chased after her, grabbing her wrist and pulling her into a hug, "Haha!"
Struggling out of my arms, she pushed me back into the fountain, "Haha, Loser!"
I sat up in the fountain, wiping my face and spitting water out of my mouth, "You Dick."
"I love you," She laughed as she helped me out.
"I love you, too," I smirked, pulling her into the fountain. She splashed me, turning it into a splashing war as the air filled with laughter all over again.
Coming to an end, we got ourselves out of the fountain, panting as I unbuttoned my shirt, "That was fun."
She giggled with a nod as I drained my button-up before tying it around my waist, "Wish the water wasn't so damn cold, though."
Laughing I picked up my bag, opened it, and pulled out a hoodie and a pair of shorts, "Here."
"Wh-What about you?" She flushed at me as she looked at the clothes, "Aren't you cold?"
I rolled my eyes at her with a chuckle, "I'll be fine, just go into the bathroom and change. I've got a plastic bag you can push your wet clothes in."
I watched her run into the bathroom to change, walking around and picking up garbage and putting it into the trash cans. I hated litter. Don't people know how important the planet is to our survival? Pulling a small bottle of hand sanitizer from my pocket I used some of it to cleanse my hands from germs as I headed back over to Mathis who was exiting the restrooms, "Better?"
"Yes, thank you," She smiled, handing me her wet clothes. I shoved them into a plastic bag and set the bag with our stuff, coming over to her as we started walking around the park. We were the only ones there which meant that kids were still in school and parents were at work. This time was always the best time for us to come to the playground.
We plopped down on the grass, my nose scrunching as she pulled out her vape, "That stuff is bad for you."
She puffed smoke at me, "I only do it every so often."
I watched her lay in the grass, a sigh escaping her lips as frustration filled her eyes, "Pops is up my ass, again. He's giving Mom a hard time, too."
I laid on the grass with her. Her father was an asshole. He never hit her or her mother but he was verbally abusive. Because of that, they couldn't get the police involved. She took another hit off her vape, putting one arm under her head as we watched the clouds above us.
"That one looks like a penis," She pointed to a cloud, instantly getting the both of us to burst into a pit of laughter, "and that one looks like a vagina. I wonder if they'll get it on."
I cackled harder, curling into a ball, "Mathis, that's inappropriate!"
"Then why are you laughing?" She giggled as I struggled to calm down.
"Because it was unexpected."
