《Worth The Risk》Sleepover

After they released Delilah from the hospital, Emma and Cyn took her to her house. Emma helped her bathe and put on her pajamas. The worst of the high was over and while she wasn't as drunk anymore she was a bit tipsy. She laid down and Emma went to get her a glass of water and something to put in her stomach. Cyn hopped on the bed and handed Delilah Hopper and Legs.
"Who are these guys?" Delilah asked. She sat up a little and rested on the headboard.
"Hopper and Legs. They're like you and Mommy. Lovers and best friends. You can hold them for a little while. They always make me feel better." Cyn said. She had to be big earlier but she thought it was okay if she was small again now since everyone was safe.
Delilah smiled. "Thank you." She was acting fine but Delilah felt like shit. She felt betrayed and violated. She felt weak and pathetic. She felt so stupid. Things like this happened all the time, yes, but not to her. She felt stupid for trusting her friend. She felt stupid for not picking better friends. Most of all she just felt gross and used.
Emma was downstairs leaning on the counter. She was still so angry. When she was giving Delilah a bath, she found a hickie on her neck. She gently asked Delilah about it but she couldn't give Emma an answer. She didn't remember. That only infuriated Emma even more. Emma knew it wasn't Delilah's fault but she was still mad and she felt like a piece of shit for being mad. It was a vicious cycle of placing the blame. Maybe if Emma told Delilah about her suspicions, she would have been more careful. Emma ran her fingers through her hair and shook the thoughts from her head. She couldn't change the past. She had to be present and here for Delilah now. She grabbed the water and soup and headed back upstairs. She walked in on Cyn telling Delilah how Hopper and Legs met. Emma laughed to herself as she knew Cyn could get a little long winded when it came to her stuffies.

"Oh really?" Delilah asked. She was humoring Cyn with her feigned interest.
Emma handed Delilah the soup but she shook her head. "I'm really not hungry, Em."
"You better eat it." Cyn said. "She gets testy when people don't eat their dinner."
"Watch it." Emma warned her. "But she's right. You need to eat. Even if it's just to make me happy." Emma said lifting the spoon up.
Delilah sighed and opened her mouth. She let Emma feed her until she really couldn't stomach anymore.
"Thank you." Emma placed the bowl to the side.
Cyn yawned and laid beside Delilah. "Mommy, are we staying here tonight?"
"I don't know, sweetie." Emma said. She wasn't sure if Delilah wanted company. She had a pretty rough night.
"Can you guys stay?" Delilah asked. She didn't want to be alone.
"Of course, babe." Emma said immediately.
Cyn jumped between them and wiggled her little body under the blankets. "I call middle!" She declared. "I'm a great snuggler." She paused. "Wait.. how do I snuggle two people?"
Delilah chuckled. "Let Mommy sleep in the middle and you just snuggle her."
"Okay. That works." Cyn switched places with Emma and they all got comfortable in Delilah's big bed. Delilah used the remote to turn the lights off. "That's cool!" Cyn said in the dark. "Mommy?"
"Yes?" Emma answered as she wrapped her arms around Delilah.
"Remember when you punched that girl in the face?" Cyn asked giggling.
"Goodnight, Cyn." Emma said. She was not proud of letting herself spiral out of control like that but damn did it feel good in the moment.
"Goodnight Mommy. Goodnight Lila." Cyn said as she cuddled against Emma.
"Goodnight, Cyn." Delilah said quietly. She was well on her way to dreamland. She just hoped they were more pleasant than her reality.

He forcefully turned me to face him, but I just as firmly held my eyes closed tight. "Let me go," I demanded breathlessly."Look at me or I'll rip your eyes out right now," Kol demanded in turn. His grip tightened and his other hand lifted, reaching with those sharp claws no doubt to pluck my eyes from my skull. My eyes flew open and I gasped in panic, looking at those hovering fingertips. He froze above me, stunned. Tears stung at my eyes as I realized they were fully bright, molten gold before a Daemon; meaning I was doomed regardless. Daemons had wiped out all Seraph already. They wouldn't allow me to live and they would punish my father for hiding me."Don't hurt my family," I pleaded abruptly, a sob escaping my throat as I began to tremble under him."You can hide your eyes?" Kol asked with great interest. I choked on a response, but nodded quickly in fear. "Don't rip my eyes out," I requested tearfully."I would never."
