《Worth The Risk》Mommy's A Murderer

Emma left Delilah and Cyn to their own devices while she went to work the next day. It was hard leaving them both. She was going to miss them but she knew she had to go. All day Cyn sent her silly pictures of the two of them. Most of the pictures Delilah was in, she seemed unamused. Which made it even funnier. The pictures were obviously Cyn's idea. It helped the day go by quickly. It was finally time to go call it a day. Emma gathered her things and left the building. As she was walking to the car, her phone rang. It was Delilah.
"Hi, Daddy. How are you feeling?" She asked.
Cyn started giggling. "I'm not Daddy! I'm baby!"
Emma couldn't do anything but laugh. "Oh my god. Why do you have Delilah's phone?"
"Don't you mean Daddy's phone?" Cyn asked mischievously.
"She's not your Daddy but yes. Where's your phone?" Emma asked.
"It's dead, Mommy. I was playing too many games on it. It's on Daddy's charger now." Cyn covered her mouth to stop herself from giggling.
"You're so bad. Do you know that?" Emma got inside of her car and put her seatbelt on. Before she made it back to Cyn and Delilah, she had to make a stop at her house.
"Nuh uh! When are you coming back? I miss you." Cyn whined.
Emma smiled. "I just have to make one stop and I'll be right there. Just be good for Delilah until then."
"Okayyyy, Mommy. Bye."
"Bye, baby." Emma cooed.
Cyn hang up and joined Delilah on the couch. She was reading a book with her knees drawn to her chest. Her curly hair was pulled back into a loose ponytail and she wasn't wearing any makeup. It made her look innocent or juvenile somehow. Cyn wasn't used to seeing her this way, but she like it.
"Why are you staring at me?" Delilah asked but her eyes never left the page she was on.
"Because I'm boorrreeeed, Daddy." Cyn said.
Delilah looked up. "Excuse me?"
Cyn giggled. "What?" She pretended to not know what Delilah was talking about.
"What did you just call me?" Delilah had considered she was going crazy for a moment but she was not hearing things.

"You're name." Cyn shrugged.
"No you didn't. You called me Daddy."
"Do you want me to call you Daddy? I don't know if Emma will like that." Cyn said.
"No. You just said it. You said "I'm bored, Daddy.""
"Maybe you need a nap." Cyn smiled widely.
Delilah stared at her. "Okay. If you say so. I guess I'll just help myself to some ice cream before Emma gets here. Wish I had someone to share with."
"Me! You can share with me!" Cyn shouted. She loved ice cream.
"No. I only share with honest people." Delilah closed her book and started to stand up but Cyn hopped on her, pushing her back into the couch.
"Okay! Okay! I called you Daddy. I was being silly. Can I have ice cream now?! Pweeaassee?" Cyn was basically in Delilah's lap and inches from her face. She was clearly in little space and not being sexual at all.
Delilah felt honored that she felt comfortable enough to go into little space without Em around. She gently pushed Cyn's face away from hers. "Yes. Just don't tell your Mommy I gave it to you before dinner. She'd kill me."
Cyn giggled imagining her Mommy being mean to anyone but especially Delilah. "Yay! Yay! Yayyyy!! I won't tell!" She shouted to Delilah's amusement.
"Come on." Delilah stood up and suddenly felt Cyn noticeably smaller hands around her fingers.
"Ready!" She said, filled with glee.
Delilah smiled. "Okay."
Emma walked into her house and expected to see Miguel sitting on the couch but he wasn't there. Emma got chills from the thought of him being upstairs torturing Savannah. She hesitated before climbing the steps but went, nonetheless. She opened the guest bedroom and saw Savannah sleeping on the bed. One of her hands was shackled to the bed frame. No Miguel in sight.
"Hey." Emma tried to wake Savannah from the doorway. She didn't budge. "Savannah!" She said louder than before. Still nothing. Emma walked in and shook her until her eyes opened.
"What?" Savannah asked. She was so incredibly tired. This was the first time in days she was allowed to sleep and now it was being interrupted.
"I'm sorry. Did I disturb your beauty sleep?" Emma asked sarcastically. "Where's Miguel?"

"How am I supposed to know? I don't exactly have the most freedom to roam around." She held up her chained hand.
Emma rolled her eyes and walked away. She knocked on the bathroom door. "Emma?" Miguel asked. He opened the door. Half of his face was covered in shaving cream. The other half was shaved.
"Hot date?" She asked.
"I just keep it shaved. Daniella likes the bare.. clean look, ya know?"
Emma chuckled. "All too well."
Miguel gave her a disgusted look. "Too far, Em. No sex details."
"No one said that was about sex." It was definitely about sex.
"Whatever. What's up?" Miguel asked.
"We need to tell Delilah about the recording."
"How would we do that without telling her we've been keeping Savannah hostage?"
Emma paused. "I'm not sure but she can't remember what happened and it's bothering her. She doesn't say much when she's awake, but last night she was mumbling Savannah's name in her sleep. Again."
Miguel sighed. "I don't know, Em. Delilah's not stupid. She'll know something is going on."
He's right. Delilah was smart. She'd have questions. Would Emma be able to answer them without telling her the truth? "I'll figure it out."
Miguel was a little nervous but he trusted Emma's judgement. "Okay. Let me get it for you."
"Thank you." Emma stood there while Miguel disappeared downstairs to wherever he was hiding them. She actually went back into the room with Savannah. Her morbid curiosity always got the best of her.
"Welcome back, friend." Savannah said. She was lying down and her back was turned towards the door but she knew Emma couldn't stay away. Admittedly, she was grateful for the company. The man she was left with didn't speak to her at all. He acted like she didn't exist. It drove her crazy. All he ever did was bring her bowls of white rice and glasses of water. When she had to use the bathroom, he stood at the door and watched her. Even Isabella didn't do that.
"You need help." Emma said.
"You think sending me to jail will help me, Emma?" Savannah turned around and rested her tired head on her hand. "If I even actually go. I don't have to tell you how many quote unquote rapists walk away with a slap on the wrist."
It angered Emma to think about but she was right. She'd seen it with her own eyes. They get reduced sentencing or community service. Maybe house arrest or something but it's never enough. Now with everything they've done to her and the way they came across the evidence they have, it may never stick. "Can you at least tell me why?" Emma asked.
Savannah laid there quietly. She knew any answer, even the truth, wouldn't be good enough for Emma. "Does it matter?"
"Yes."
Savannah sat up and put her feet on the floor. "What difference does knowing the why make? It won't change that Delilah won't let you touch her anymore. It won't stop your heart from aching every time you look at her and realize I broke her. It won't give you the old Lilah back."
Emma ran towards Savannah and tackled her onto the bed. She wrapped her hands around her throat and squeezed. Emma leaned closer to her and whispered in a strained voice, "I'm going to tell Delilah everything. I'm going to tell her what a monster you are and she'll change her mind about keeping you alive and when she does, I'll make sure I kill you myself."
"Emma! Fuck. What are you doing?" Miguel grabbed Emma and pulled her off of Savannah just in time. A second longer and maybe Emma would have gotten her wish. Savannah gasped for air and started coughing. Miguel noticed Emma's eyes were wide and bewildered. "Here." He handed her the DVD. "You need to go."
Emma didn't move. She just stared at Savannah. Her heart was racing and her hands were trembling. She could feel the adrenaline pulsing through her body. She had never experimented with any type of drug but she imagined this is what a high felt like.
"Emma! Go!" Miguel barked again.
She nodded. "Yeah. Sorry. Okay." Emma turned and left with the recording held tightly in her hand. She sat in her car and caught her breath as she stared at the disc in her lap. Who was she becoming?
