I sighed closing my closet door, as I stared at my reflection in the mirror that hung on my door. I blinked, rubbing my eyes just so I could clear my thoughts. Straightening my tie and turning away I grabbed my watch on the nightstand making my way out the door to attend the dinner party. Everything must be perfect for Serenity my mate. All I could think about was her and that beautiful smile I saw on that rainy night. Her captivating green eyes that reminded me of emeralds glistening in the sunlight. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door.

"Come in," I said.

Walking in was Darren with a serious look on his face. Could something had happened to him? It's very rare to see his expression like this. The only other time I saw him this serious was when one of the female omegas in the pack was being bullied by one of the other girls in the pack.

"What's the matter, Darren? Did something happen?" I need to make sure everything is fine with no problems to come across.

"Everything is fine, but I did find my mate who is unexpectedly your mates' best friend."

"That's a good thing, right?" I had to ask because that look on his face made it seem like it was not good. Does he not like her?

"It's a great thing to know just she is a flirty one. She was hitting on me when I was showing them around. I was fighting my wolf so he wouldn't take control and well you know the rest."

Well, I'm happy for him. I know his parents are going to be very happy upon hearing the news of him finding his mate as the pack and my parents were happy to know I found my mate. Tonight is going to be a night for both me and Darren will remember. But before I forget I grab my laptop typing in an email to my good friend the alpha king. I'm sure he will be thrilled to know the news too. I remember the day when he called me at 4 in the morning telling me he found his mate. I don't remember much of the conversation before I blacked out. I did tell him I was sorry because I was doing over-time for a week and I needed sleep or I would have snapped.

Not realizing the time David bursts through the door with a bat! A damn metal bat! This guy has to be the most random vampire I know. Or he's just special. Yeah, I'll go with that.

"What's taking you two wolves so long! The party is about to begin and you both need to be present! Your mates have already arrived and might I say they look stunning."

Both Darren and I growled at David for calling our mates stunning. How dare he look at Serenity.

"Don't you both go growling at me when you're the ones who are going to be late making your mates wait?" David said knowing he was right and wanted to keep showing it. He's lucky I don't want blood on my clothes.

"Hold on. How did you know Melody is my mate? Were you spying on us?"

That is a good question.

"No, I did not spy. May the receptionist told me after you left to lead the girls to the room." David laughed. "She also told me you froze in place with Melody trying to snap you out of it." He continued to laugh holding his stomach. I tried to hold back my laugh too, but this is too funny. Did he freeze up at the sight of his mate? I looked at David to ask if this was recorded on the cameras in the lobby. He smiled letting me know he will show me later.

"Let's just go already!" Darren snapped leaving the room in a hurry. David and I finished our laughing following Darren. This is going to be an interesting night.

Not long after reaching the grand dining room with everyone's eyes on me. Some women giving me a flirtatious look that had me almost gage if not for me holding it in. The sweet smell of lavender hit me for when my eyes landed on my mate. Dear moon goddess, she looked stunning. She was wearing a nice short white dress that reached her knees. The dress hugged her body in a very sexy way. I had to control my wolf taking over. I don't want to scare her away.

"All right Sean. Time to get this going." My father told me. Glad he was able to make it. Sadly, my mother couldn't make it because she was helping to take care of her sister who fell ill.

I nodded. "Thank you, everyone, for coming down for this dinner party. I thought it would be a nice thing to do for some new guests and returning guests who have given my hotel great reviews. I also like to give a happy birthday shout out to one of our guests."

Everyone in the room looked confused though I continued. "Would Melody Jones please come forward along with your friend Serenity Rose." I could see Serenity blush the moment her name escapes my lips. I smirked knowing she seemed to like it.

Melody took Serenity's hand leading her way to me. Some girls glaring at them. I glared back to them making the girls filch. Anyone who dares to even look at my mate in such a horrible way will know my wrath.

"This is surprising. How did you know it was my birthday?" Melody asked her eyes landing on Darren giving him a wink. She going to give Darren a hard to tonight I can just tell.

He's never going to let this go but I'm the alpha so I will do what I want. "Actually. Darren my good friend and assistant told me that it's your birthday and first time here so we make your stay here amazing."

Everyone aww at this because it was a sweet thing to do. Others looked jealous and I didn't care. Darren looked at me like he was ready to kill me. He should be thanking me for her. For all we know he can win her tonight I'll try with my mate. A sweet voice spoke out and I knew it was my mate. She smiled at me that caused my heart to leap. I noticed she was looking at my eyes. Could she be remembering my wolf?

"Thank you for doing this for my friend. This means a lot." Serenity said giving me a breathtaking smile. I bit my bottom lip holding in the urge to kiss her deeply in front of everyone not caring what they will think.

"I'm happy I could do this. Especially for a beautiful woman such as yourself."

Serenity blushed more looking down. I can tell she was not expecting me to say that. This made me fall for her more. This feeling that I have deep in my heart makes me want to protect her forever. Never wanting any harm to come to her. My mate my love my future Luna of my pack and future mother of our pup.

"T-thank you for the compliment. Never thought such a handsome man as you would tell me I'm beautiful."

I reached out my hand to her. She looked at me in confusion. "Would you like to join me at my table. I very much like to talk."

"I would love to." She said taking my hand. I held her soft hand in mine leading her to my table. My father and David smiling my way. I knew full well what they are thinking, I just smiled. Darren soon followed after with Melody as they both held hands together. Good. I'm glad to see him enjoying his moment.

Everyone was having a good time eating and talking away. I got to know more about Serenity and what she liked to do and things she didn't like. I told her about myself just not the whole werewolf part. I don't want her looking at me like I'm some crazy person.

Serenity got up from her seat. "I'll be back. I need to head to the restroom."

I nodded watching her leave. I turned my head back only to see Darren and Melody smirking at me. For the first time in my life, I feel scared.

"I'll cut to the chase. Do you have a thing for my best friend?" Melody asked me with a straight face. This girl cut corners. Note to self: Be careful around her.

"She's a tough one. Good luck with answering her." Darren said in a mind link with me. Look's like he's using this moment to get back at me. Well, two can play at this game.

"I am interested in her. She is different from the other women I met." That sounded so cliché.

Melody gave me a stern look. "Then let me give you some advice if you plan to peruse my best friend. Right now, she is getting over a break up since her no-good ex hurt her by sleeping with her sister. Don't rush Serenity with anything. If you hurt her, I will have you in the hospital in a heartbeat. Is that clear?"

Not sure how I like the way she's talking to me but I'll let it slide since she is Serenity's best friend and she is just looking out for her like a good friend should. The things I would do for my mate.

I could see Melody getting a worried look on her face.

"What's the matter?" Darren asked concerned. I too started to get a worry feeling when I realized Serenity was taking a long time to get back. I got up from my seat heading in the direction where Serenity was. Melody joined too following behind with Darren. It didn't take long to see a girl blocking Serenity's way shouting at her.

"I'm going to make you pay for humiliating me at the pool earlier." The girl squeaked. Dear god that is a nasty voice.

"What? Not used to people telling you the truth? Let's be real I can't be the first." Serenity said full of confidence. It was sexy of her seeing her stand up for herself. She is going to make a great Luna. On a side note her come-backs are amazing.

"Do you have any idea who I am?" The girl continued.

Serenity did not give a damn. "Sorry. You're not important enough to be known."

Melody held in her laugh knowing this thing just got interesting. My mate is a boss! The girl's rage was getting to the breaking point when she lifted her hand in attempted to smack my mate. I rushed over fast grabbing the girl's arm tightly causing her to wince in pain.

"Ow! Let go!" She screamed at me. When her eyes landed on me, she froze in fear. This girl is a part of my pack and I know her father well. Looks like I'm going to be having a long talk with her father soon.

"How dare you hurt my mate!" I growled loudly. This is not good. My wolf is close to taking over. Darren looked worried till I felt a hand on my back instantly getting me to calm down. It was Serenity looking at me worriedly. I pulled Serenity into a hug, calming down instantly. I felt her arms wrap around me gently. I could tell she didn't know what to do. I pulled away slow even though I didn't want to.

"I'm sorry that you had to see that. I'll deal with this matter personally. Why don't you and Melody go and enjoy the rest of the night? Everything is on me." With that, I had Darren and the girl whose name is Willow follow behind. Willow was trembling for she knew she was going to get a heavy punishment.

"Darren contact Willow's father and have him met with me now."

"Understood."

Willow grabbed my arm desperately while I pushed her back. I didn't want to be touched by her.

"Alpha, please! I beg you I did not know she was your mate!"

I glared at her. "That still does not give you the right to bother guests at my hotel. You should be ashamed of yourself."

I made it to my office with Willow's father already here.

"Alpha. Did something happen with my daughter?"

I sat down giving him a cold stare. "Your daughter almost harmed my mate not too long ago. She has gotten very spoiled."

Willow's father looked at her angry. "I'm so sorry Alpha! Willow will take any punishment you see fit."

"One week in the cellar with no food or water." That's all I said before leaving my office. Mess with my mate you mess me.
