Bride Behind The Mask is based around the arranged marriage trope which, as everyone knows, is fairly common. However, what really inspired the story was the fact that my mum actually betrothed me to her friend's son before I was even born. Luckily, they only did it for shits and giggles. Unluckily for my female MC, Amelia, she's stuck with it and would need to try her hardest to get out of the forced marriage.

Finishing it. Once I get going with writing, I can write fairly fast. But when real life gets in the way - as they often do - I often find myself putting writing aside, and it takes me forever to pick it up again. It took me 6 years on and off to finish this story!

Overwhelmingly positive, to my surprise.

The fun parts, where Amelia drives her arranged marriage husband batshit crazy. And the cliffhangers and plot twists that set readers on edge.

It's a standalone, but I am now working on other spin-offs which carry on after the events of BBTM.

As the book title suggests, and as cliche as it sounds, don't judge a book by its cover; look beneath appearances.

Write for yourself. I have seen so many writers (especially Wattpad writers) struggle with motivation because they don't get enough reads or recognition. I am a firm believer that the best stories are borne out of a writer's passion for storytelling, not for reads, follows, votes or anything that is just a meaningless number. I also often remind myself not to give up, because practice makes perfect!

It's an enemies-to-lovers slow-build romance, filled with humor and involves elements of fantasy and political intrigue. And of course, plot twists!

I started working on a much darker and sadder story, but I've put that aside now as I am focusing on the spin-off stories that continue where BBTM left off.
