《My best friends brother》Chapter 28

I was in horrible pain. I hated it. I looked at Jaxon. He was holding my hand. I was pushing. I let out a little yell.
"Don't yell" the nurse said. I wanted to punch her in the damn face.
"Shut the fuck up" I yelled. She rolled her eyes. I felt the pain again.
"Push" she said and I pushed.
A little cry. I looked down. The doctor put him on my stomach while he clipped the cord. He was so tiny and red. He picked him up and handed him to the nurse. I was still in pain until the placenta came out. I watched the nurses with our son. Jaxon walked over there and was smiling down at him. I wanted him so bad in my arms. Finally they brought him over to me for the skin to skin. I smiled down at our baby boy. Jaxon kisses my forehead.
"You did good babe" he said. I nodded and held on to him.
I was in the hospital for two more days after that. Then we finally went home. My mom helped get my room ready for when we came back. I laid down on the bed with him. He was sleeping. I yawned. I grabbed my phone and set it for two hours for when he would need his next feeding. I closed my eyes and fell asleep cuddling my little human.
I woke up to the alarm and panicked. He wasn't next to me. I looked to the little chair to see Jaxon holding him and feeding him a bottle. I shook my head.
"Your mom told me you pumped some milk and put it in the fridge before you laid down with him" he said. I nodded.
"Kind of gave me a heart attack a second ago. Didn't know where he went" I replied.

"Did you hear that? We scared your mommy" he whispered towards him. I shook my head.
"Maybe we should move in together. Be together to take care of our son" he said.
"Maybe" I replied shrugging. He nodded and looked down at him.
Everyone was coming over to my house for dinner and to spend some time with Mathias. I looked around the room at everyone crowding around me while I held him. I needed some space. I gave him to Bree and got up from the couch. I went to the kitchen and grabbed some water. I turned around and leaned against the counter near the sink. I took a drink and then put it down on the counter. I crossed my arms and took a deep breath. Jaxon came in and smiled at me. I smiled back.
"Do you wanna go out for a bit?" He asked. I nodded. We went back into the living room.
"They have him. I already asked them to watch Mathias" he said. I nodded. I have Mathias a kiss on the forehead and went with Jaxon.
We drove around for a bit and then we went into the drive thru at Wendy's. We got some food and he drove us to an apartment building. He grabbed our bag of food and got out. I followed him. We went up to the second floor and he opened up a door. I stepped in and looked around.
"What is this place?" I asked.
"It's our place. It has two bedrooms. I got it last week for us and after today. I think maybe we could move in together like I said earlier" he answered. I nodded while still looking around. I checked out the bedrooms and saw the one that would be Mathias's room. It had a crib in there with a rocking chair. Along with a changing table. There was boxes and boxes of diapers and wipes in the closet. I was shocked. I went into the other room and had a huge king sized bed in there. A stand with a tv on top of it too. I went back out into the living room.

"There's more furniture on the way in the next couple days. My parents and Bree helped me with it" he said. I nodded.
"It's nice" I replied.
"So what do you think?" He asked.
"Okay" I answered smiling at him. He smiled back at me and kissed me.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
