♡ Mackenzie's POV ♡
I sat in the black ferrari with Dexter to feel California just wash into my face. I smiled at the feeling of just being free and relaxed.
I looked ovr at Dexter, spotting the sea on his side and watched how it glistened under the suns rays. I guess I enjoyed going down to the beach as a kid with my parents but as they got older then the less time they spent withe grew.I sighed softly and forward again, watching as houses and people passed before I spotted parents with their child, laughing and having fun, looking down quickly I closed my eyes to fight back the tears and looked up again.
I guess Dexter got worried because he kept glancing over at me but I looked back with a smile "I'm fine Dext..."
"You sure Kenz, we can just go back if you want." He said caringly and I shook my head to tell him I still wanted to go. He nodded once and turned the radio up and I guessed it was to calm me down because it was working. I sighed amd relaxed in my seat, letting the warmth in and smiled.
"Hey can we stop for a while, I mean we do bave about three hours till we need to be there" I pointed out to Dexter and looked over at him. He seemed to be silent for a minute then nodded with a 'sure.' I smiled happily as we parked outside my favourite cafe and went inside after Dexter locked the car. I followed him in with a big smile as we walked to the counter.
"Good morning Mackenzie and Dexter, what would it be today?" The girl behind the counter asked. I knew the girl went to our school but I never knew her name, she had brown hair which was cut into a pixie cut and hazel-green eyes, her skin was tanned like most people yet hers was more pale then tan which gave me the thought that she rarely went out. As Dexter was ordering I had a quick sneak peak at her name tag 'Rose' I read and grinned to myself I'll remember that name... I hope I thought.

"And she'll have the double chocolate milkshake with extra whip cream, a blue berry muffin and I guess that's it" I heard Dexter said and I snapped out of my day dream before facing him.
"You remembered" I giggled and he nodded with a smile. I waited as Rose did our orders and looked at how happy people were. I did have to admit, this was a good place to go both work and chill but it was my favourite cafe so you would guess I loved it.
The cafe was very large with honey-brown walls. There was computers along the back and the tables were round with about 4 chairs around each one, both tables and chairs were the colour of cocoa bean brown and fairy lights hung nicely on the walls with pictures of Calfornia and surfers and quotes. I smiled and looked back at Dexter as Rose came back with our orders
"I'll go find us a table" I told him and went to find an empty table, squeezing through the maze of full tables before finally finding a table near the window. I smiled and rushed over to it and plonked down, waiting for Dexter as I stared out the window.
· So I'm going to start adding more into my chapters but like I said in my A/N I will try my best for you guys but I am off to college next year and I'm stressing a lot at the moment so I'm sorry if I don't make you proud enough :// ·
