Tangan kanan Seth memegang bagasi besar. Tangan kirinya pula memegang kertas Pendaftaran Aspura. Terdapat kertas kecil yang tertulis di atasnya Dorm 312.
'Fuhh! Tingkat 3! Hari-hari turun naik. Ada lif takpe lah jugak.' Rungut Seth di dalam hati.
"Seth,good luck tingkat tiga ye! Nampaknya makin kerempenglah kau kat sini. Kau ni dahlah kurus." Khaulah yang merupakan kakak tiri Seth sibuk menyakat.
"Hello, baguslah tingkat atas. Badan boleh jadi fit bersenam turun naik tangga hari-hari. Al-aqlus Salim Fil Jismi Salim." Respon Seth.
Siap ada kalam hikmah Arab kerana dia tahu kakaknya tak mengerti sepatah pun Bahasa Arab. Kakaknya tidak belajar bahasa itu di sekolah lamanya. Seth memang sengaja berbuat begitu kerana tak mahu kalah.

Pelajar-pelajar Sekolah Tinggi Agama Jauhar atau lebih dikenali sebagai STAJ, berpusu-pusu memenuhi Dewan Sulaiman dan mengambil tempat duduk masing-masing untuk mendengar taklimat pelajar baru.
Memandangkan pengajian STAM (Sijil Tinggi Agama) sangat singkat yang mana cuma memakan masa 10 atau 11 bulan sahaja, sekolah ini setiap tahun akan menerima pelajar baru dan langsung tidak memiliki senior. Pelajarnya semua satu batch. Hanya khas untuk pelajar-pelajar yang menduduki peperiksaan STAM sahaja.
STAJ memang menjadi pilihan utama bagi candidates STAM di serata negeri Johor kerana reputasi sekolah itu dikatakan antara yang terbaik dan agak dikenali juga di Malaysia dan tidak lupa juga di bumi Mesir. Ramai pelajar-pelajar lepasan sekolah tinggi itu yang memilih Mesir sebagai tempat mereka untuk sambung pengajian seterusnya setelah STAM tamat. Kerana itulah STAJ dikenali di universiti-universiti Mesir.
Ketika Ustaz Halym menyampaikan taklimat disiplin, telinga dan perhatian Inn fokus dengan kata-kata guru barunya itu yang berbunyi;
"kami tak menjemput anda semua ke sini. Anda yang memohon untuk mengaji di sini. Jadi sila ikut peraturan di sini."
Inn pasti kata-kata itu bukan setakat meyentap hatinya, malah sebahagian besar pelajar baru STAJ.
'Banyaknya peraturan kat sini. Hmm peraturan sekolah, peraturan Aspuri lagi... Aku ni dah lah tak pernah masuk asrama.' Inn mula merungut sendirian di hati kecilnya.

Sebenarnya, Inn selama ini kurang sedar yang pilihan dia untuk masuk STAJ sama dengan dia memilih untuk masuk asrama, kerana STAJ merupakan sekolah berasrama penuh. Bagi dirinya, kehidupan asrama bagai duduk di dalam pagar besi. Inn baru mula rasa menyesal dengan pilihanya itu. Akan tetapi,bila dia mengenangkan niat utamanya masuk ke STAJ untuk menuntut ilmu, dia kuatkan hati. Segala cabaran dan kepayahannya,akan tetap dia tanggung.
