- New Friends -
In the tower, there were several positions for each regular and ranker. Those positions were the positions for them to fight.
There were Wave Controller, Fisherman, Spear Bearer, Light Bearer and Scouts.
Wave Controller were the one who manipulated shinsu and they were the one who dominated the fight. Shinsu was just like air, except that it could give one the God's power and it could also be used to kill. Shinsu was produced by the tower itself.
Fisherman was for the close until medium-range combatant. They were the epitome of all positions and the main offence of the team.
Spear Bearers were the one who fought from distance.
Light Bearer was for those who used a device which shaped like a cube or a lighthouse to gain information on the battle or the surrounding.
Scouts was the position for the literally scouting. They moved ahead of the group to observe the environment and situation. They also aid the Fisherman was the secondary offence.
In the test floor, the second floor or the floor of Evankhell, these regulars should attend the classes based on their positions to learn about their own positions. Just like school, they will also have some homeworks.
And the scouts had already gotten one which was to be friend with 10 people within a week. Hatz and Shibisu weren't the exception.
Hatz was an attractive man with black hair and eyes. For Charlotte, he appeared to be a righteous man who will fight in a match fair and square unlike Khun who was extremely good in using dirty tricks.
Shibisu wasn't someone attractive like the three others but he was nice and friendly. He was fun to be friend with and funny.
The two of them had looked for some friends but because Hatz's bluntness and honesty, it was hard for them.
Being honest is nice but if one crossed the line and ended up being rude, it would backfire them and instead of having a friend, they might have gotten themselves an enemy instead.
Charlotte and Bam didn't mind be friend with the two of them but Khun seemed to have a different idea.
"So you are asking me to be your friends?" He asked the two scouts. "I don't want to."
He immediately rejected them.
"Hey, why not?" Shibisu asked. "I heard that you love making friends."
"Who said that?"
"The crocodile."
"That jerk......." After a moment of pause, he added, "But first of all, you are on the same team with the lizard who attempted to steal Black March from Bam. Do you think that we will help you?"

Hearing about Black March, Charlotte and Bam looked at each other.
Before they were assigned to these positions, the regulars who had just formed teams experience a bonus game with another extra team that came from the different district to join them. The name of the bonus game was the 'Crown Game'.
If they won, then they could pass the next floor but if they lose, they won't lose anything since it was just a bonus game.
In the crown game, there were five rounds and five teams that could participate in each round. The winner from the first round was the one who won the crown and sat on the throne and they will participate on the next round.
In the first round, Hatz and Shibisu were in one team with a lizard. They managed to preserve their crown until the second round where the lizard jumped off from the throne which violated the rules. They were disqualified but the lizard made a bet that if Bam's team won, then the Black March will be on their hand. But if Bam lost, then Bam should be giving the Black March to the lizard.
Black March was one of the 13 Months, the weapons that Zahard Princesses could possess and wield. With that 13 Months, the regulars will have higher chance to pass the tests and exams. The lizard has the other one, Green April and she wanted to get Black March.
In the Manhwa, Bam lost and the lizard gained the Black March but Charlotte won't let her win the bet that easy. She changed the plotline and won the crown. She changed the prize from moving to the next floor to Black March and the supervisor agreed for several unknown reasons.
There were several reasons why Charlotte wanted that Black March. First, it was because she can't stand the lizard's attitude. If Altaira didn't hold her back at the time, she would have shouted at the lizard and embarrassed herself. Second, she hoped that the Black March would be able to help her for the further test. Third, she wanted to see how powerful her team was.
Altaira was a skilled spear bearer while Celeste, she was good in swordsmanship that they won the game. But Charlotte, all she could do was to sit on that throne. She felt useless. Therefore, she was looking forward to this Wave Controller Class with the hope that she would be able to improve but the class wasn't as enjoyable or easy as what she thought.

The Black March was now on their hands, or to be more exact, Khun was keeping it since Charlotte believed that if Khun was the one who kept it, no one could steal it. Khun used the word 'attempted' instead of 'steal' since the lizard failed and lost.
"I also believe that conflicted with the spirit of swordsmanship therefore, I apologize on her behalf" Hatz said. "And after the crown game, the team was disbanded, she has nothing to do with me anymore."
"Now that she's not on your team, you will have nothing to do with that?" Khun asked. "Is that the spirit of your swordsmanship? To throw away someone who was once your teammate? That's evil."
"I'm just talking about the right path of a swordman. And by the way, you are narrow-minded."
Now, the two of them started the fight.
Shibisu laughed nervously. If the two of them really fight, then they were done here. Therefore, he changed the topic and asked them to introduce themselves.
"That's cool. I'm Khun. I'm a son of the Khun Family, one of the 10 Great Families. Khun Aguero Agnes is my full name" Khun said.
The 10 Great Families. If the Zahard Family was just like the Royal family, then they were the nobles. The head of the families were the one who climbed the tower along with King Zahard and then reached the top.
Calmly, Hatz replied, "We asked about you, not about your father. That information is as useless as your earrings. Give us some useful information this time."
His vein popped as Khun stood up, "This jerk, what's wrong with my earrings huh? These de my ears!"
Shibisu was holding back Khun who was more than ready to fight with Hatz. He convinced Hatz to lower his pride and hold back for a bit.
"I apologize for my words before. My name is Hatz. I'm 18 years old. My dad was once a swordsmith so I have liked swords since I was young. I grew up with the spirit of a swordsman."
"'Spirit, 'spirit'.....stop spouting old stories" Khun retaliated. "Does your family still say 'seppuku' even today? So old fashioned......."
"You! Are you making fun of our spirit of swordsmanship? Performing seppuku is noble and manly! What's the funny about that?"
"Hatz, calm down!"
"Seppuku is manly? That's stupid!"
While they were bickering, Bam was worried and Charlotte enjoyed it. Bam looked at Charlotte and asked, "Should we....stop them now? Before they fight?"
"I don't mind watching them fighting."
Bam gave her the disapproval look. Knowing that Bam didn't agree with her, Charlotte should do something before she was lectured again.
"Brother is right" she said. "We shouldn't fight with others. Fighting is not nice." She gestured to her brother to go fire and said, "Brother, you are the first to try."
"Alright" Bam smiled. She had escaped from the lecture. He turned to the others and said, "Let's be friends."
Charlotte wasn't surprised that Bam would want to be friend with people who attempted to steal Black March from them. When she reminded him to stay careful around Hoh, she was the one who was scolded instead. Now that Hatz and Shibisu asked for his help, he kindly helped them. How very nice of him.
"My name is 25th Bam, just call me Bam" Bam introduced himself. "There is no much to say about me. Charlotte is my only family. I don't have any house and the only thing that I had was.......a dirty piece of cloth. So I thought that Charlotte and I will die without doing nothing......but now....." He turned his head around to Charlotte and finished his story, "We have friends, right Charlotte?"
The room was covered with the blanket of silence.
His words were honest and genuine without a single lie. It was nice actually, but the problem was that his words would always find the way to stab on where it hurts. Charlotte really felt bad as she wasn't his real sister. But in this kind of moment, she didn't want to destroy the happy atmosphere and said, "Yeah! You are right! Let's sign our names then!"
For a moment, Bam thought that he had seen Charlotte's sad expression but he believed that he had seen wrong and didn't bother with it.
Hearing Bam saying those words and even signed his name and Charlotte's name, Khun sighed and give in. He wrote his name on the paper as well.
And after that, the 5 of them spent the rest of the night joyously when Rak was trying to climb down and return to the wild west.

Shadows in the Dawn Mist
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - Winner November 2020 When a young woman is lured back to her homeland for the opportunity of a life time, she must face old fears. But never would she think that facing up to her past would change everything. Is History written by the victors, or by someone or something else...? *** I started writing this a few years ago and eventually fell out of love with it. I never finished it and my newer books are being written in different writing style, and genre with a more planned process. I decided to revisit it for the writathon and found that it wasn't as hopeless as I'd come to think. Hopefully, I've improved as a writer since them so the consistency may vary. Its been good to revisit and analyse my writing which I feel used to have some clunky and obvious dialogue which I'm trying to fix. This will always be my first novel and I hope, with a little exposure, I may come to like it again. Thanks for reading!
