- Position Test -
Charlotte wasn't surprised when she knew that Altaira had passed the position test before her. Considering that he has been boasting his skills as a spear bearer, if he failed on this one, then he should prepare himself to be laughed by Charlotte.
The position test will be testing them whether they could work in the same team or not. The position test will determine whether they could continue on the final exam or pack their things and go home. Their position test was about the Hide and Seek.
The regulars will be divided into 2 groups with a ranker as the seeker. Charlotte stuck in the B Group while Celeste was in the A Group. If Khun was silently complaining about why he was separated from Bam, then she was also complaining why she was separated from Celeste. She didn't like her team and cursed her rotten luck.
"Excuse me" Shibisu raised one of his hands. "Who will be the seeker of this test?"
"HAHAHA! NICE QUESTION! I KNOW THAT ALL MY STUDENTS ARE GOOD!"
The voice came from the box next to Hansung Yu, the test director with long orange hair that was tied into bun with a red hairpin and dressed in the traditional clothing. On the box, there were written the 4 words: Never Ever Touch This.
And from that box, a person popped out and proudly announced, "I AM......THE SEEKER OF THIS TEST!!"
The regulars, especially the scouts fell into silence and found it hard to smile. The ranker with red hair and tan skin was none other than the scouts' beloved teacher, Quant!
Lero-Ro, another ranker with blonde hair and eyes who was quite tall with a mole, face palmed himself. Hansung Yu spat out his beloved coffee and looked irritated.
No wonder he didn't show himself! He was hiding himself at the box and waited for this moment to make his entrance!
Seeing how the others found it hard to smile and awkward at this kind of situation, Charlotte was probably the only one who smiled and shook her head.
Quant, that guy, he will be the seeker of this test.
Team A
The first team has decided to make Khun was their leader while Shibisu will be their bait.
Celeste heard from Shibisu that Quant was childish and the class was centered on him. Using the fact that Quant must have looked down on them since they were regulars, Khun proposed the idea about catching the ranker instead of running away from it. The plan was indeed interesting but.....
Celeste teamed up with Laure and lifted the sign "don't disturb me". She would pass even if she didn't do anything anyway so she decided to sit down and watch them doing their work.
Team B
This team, Charlotte didn't know what she should do. Her hope to work together with her current teammates has been crushed since she knew how the story will go.
From her observation and as far as she could remember, the people in Team B were selfish people. Charlotte sighed and crossed her hands, putting her head on the table, "We are doomed."
"Why do you think so, Charlotte?" Bam asked.
Charlotte gestured Bam to lean close to her and then whispered, "Well, the regulars in this team mostly selfish."
"Selfish?" Bam repeated.
"You will see what I mean later" Charlotte said. She looked at the screen before she looked somewhere else.
Ever since she stepped inside the room, she felt that someone has been looking at her. The person can't be Noah as Noah was with Celeste and secretly watched her. She felt uneasy and when her golden eyes moved around, she noticed Endorsi who was looking at her with a smirk. The smirk can't be the friendly smile and Charlotte felt that there was the hint of malice in that smile.

Charlotte assumed that Endorsi was looking at her because if the Black March she was holding. Before Khun went to Team A, he gave her this Black March since she asked just in case she will be needing it. If Endorsi wanted to steal this Black March, then there was the high chance that it will work. For what she knew, the members in Team B had no care for each other and that they were guarded against each other.
Bam was an exception, of course.
"Is there something wrong, princess?" A regular asked.
The random regular who asked Endorsi that question was someone who has been trying to please Endorsi from the beginning.
But his intentions were too obvious and Endorsi didn't care about him at all. While looking at Charlotte, she said, "She looks like an adorable puppy."
The random regular didn't get what she meant.
Team A appeared to be in serious situation. Not only that they failed to catch the ranker but now, the defense that they tried to build for thirty two minutes and thirteen seconds were slowly destroyed by Quant. When Bam saw his friends being beaten up like this, he wasn't laughing or cheering happily as he didn't understand what's the funny about that. So when he saw the others laughing and cheering for the Team A's lost, he didn't understand it.
Charlotte felt angry and disgusted when she saw her teammates laughing at her friends, especially the green pickle Paracule who appeared to be the loudest in the room. But after she pondered about their actions, their actions were actually understandable.
If you want to climb the tower, you have to pull others down. When you are getting lucky, the others will be unlucky. When you succeed, the others will fail. In another word, when you get more, the others will get less.
But seeing how Khun reversed the situation and pulled down the ranker with his magical rope while bringing Anaak up, Charlotte felt that if only she had half of his confidence and intelligence, then maybe things would be better. If she was as smart as him, she wouldn't have to study to pass the tests and the exams in her former life. She would pass them without a doubt.
When Bam saw Khun's team was about to win, he was genuinely happy. But the thought that told him that he should have cheered for their lost made him wonder whether his actions were correct or not. If he wanted to climb the tower with Rachel and Charlotte, then Team A should fail.
Charlotte tapped his shoulder, "If you want to cheer for the others then cheer for them. No one could blame you here."
'If someone blames you, then I will punch that person right on his face.'
"But.....we are on the different teams now" Bam said and Paracule agreed with him, "He is right! Don't you think it's funny to cheer for your opponent?"
"They are your opponents, not mine" Charlotte said. "And mind your own business, pickle."
Ignoring the pickle, Charlotte smiles again at Bam, "Besides, most of our friends are on the Team A and since they have succeed, it's normal for us to cheer for them right?"
Bam thought about her words and then made an eye closed smile and agreed, "Yeah! You are right!"
Charlotte smiled. But when she glanced toward a person who covered himself with cloak from head until toes, her smile disappeared. She decided to look at the screen where Quant jumped and then caught Anaak's badge when she was so close winning.

Team A lost.

"Pulling down his teammates to help his friends" Altaira said while eating the banana. He looked at Rak and with a polite tone, he said, "Thankfully we have passed right, Mr. Rak?"
Rak Wraithraiser, the great hunter in the Test Floor was currently lost in words as he lost in the card game against the small and puny turtle.
Before, Altaira had convinced or tricked him to play the game and the winner will get all the bananas. Rak was confident that he was going to win and since Altaira had provoked him with his polite words, he fell to his trap and lost all his snacks. At the end, he was left with nothing.
Altaira hummed and said, "I wonder how Charlotte will deal with this kind of team."
Team B
Charlotte and Bam walked together along with the regulars who were the fisherman. Charlotte snuck a glance at Endorsi while feeling uneasy and restless and held the Black March tighter. If Endorsi wanted to steal it, then she wasn't sure whether she could defend herself.
Noah looked at her and noticed how nervous she was. He understood why she was nervous. After all, she was still an unlucky baby tiger who ended up in a team with egoistical and selfish members. They haven't countered the enemy yet but they were crumbed from inside. Aside from Bam or Hatz, everyone else might be her enemy and she wasn't strong enough to defend herself just with a small bang that she had just formed recently.
"You don't have to me so nervous" Noah assured her. "I won't let you die that easy."
"But you have your own limits right?" Charlotte whispered to him.
"To deal with these regulars, it won't be hard" Noah said.
Charlotte didn't mind if Noah helped her but for this time, for this test, she wanted to at least finish it on her own. In the Crown Game, she just watched and let Altaira and Celeste did the work. She felt really useless and she had wanted to improve herself again and again.
So for this once, Charlotte wanted to finish the test with her own ability like Team A. Besides, someone has already prepared the ladder for her and Bam, if she can't take that ladder with her own hands, wouldn't it be embarrassing? Not to mention that she also had Black March with her. Therefore, this time, she wanted to finish this test with everything she had.
Noah honestly didn't expect that Charlotte would refuse his help. He doubted whether she would be able to survive when she was still a small and little tiger surrounded by wolves. But still, he respected her decision and will only help her when she needed it.

Quant was angry.
He had underestimated the son of Khun who had fooled and humiliated him.
Jumping from the bridge in such height won't kill him and it wasn't hard for him to jump back and to win, but the problem was that his movements were restricted. Otherwise, the regulars were doomed to fail if it wasn't for the restrictions.
When he was cursing that sneaky regular, Khun appeared again along with the wave controller and helped him to jump with shinsu and defeated Team A. He had already plotted everything from the beginning and made his own team appeared to be trying their best and then purposely made them fail.
Khun's motive was to help both Charlotte and Bam and it was a good thing that the two of them were together in one team. The rule stated that if Team A won, then Team B will lose without a doubt. So he decided to help them. He betrayed his own team but helped his own friends.
Quant who was tricked felt that his blood was boiling and now, he was furious.
•••
Endorsi, since she was young, she had often fought with some people from her family and she would always lost. At dinner, she would always sit on the floor and ate the cold bread on her own.
One day, she defeated a senior and sat on the chair along with the others while enjoying the delicious meals. She looked at the others' meals and wondered how their foods tasted like. Will their meals be more delicious than what she had at that time?
She tried and after some time, she was able to eat all those delicious foods. She asked both Bam and Charlotte to guess how she did that and she was taken back when she heard their answers.
"Did you ask the them to share with you?" Bam and Charlotte asked.
'No, she devoured them.'
Endorsi was surprised when she heard this answer. The answer was simple and obvious but the two of them guessed it wrong. But then again, she remembered that the two of them grew in a secluded place and had no idea how cruel this tower could be.
The random regular who tried to please Endorsi pushed Bam and Charlotte aside, earning a glare from Charlotte. He hoped that he would look better in the princess' eyes but Endorsi wasn't even interested with him. He was just wasting his time.
Just then, a gray lighthouse that has been lighting up their ways interrupted their talk, "Ranker found."
The random regular was startled, "R- Ranker? Where? Close?"
"No, he is far" the lightbearer answered. "He's near the swordsman and two idiots."
"Idiots? Oh, that corpse and goby?"
No matter how Charlotte looked at it, that random regular was the idiot. And soon enough, he would be a corpse.
Then that random regular looked again at Endorsi, "Just like we planning, princess! Then let's keep moving and keep a careful eye on the ranker! You see? The plan is working perfectly!"
Endorsi smirked.
She then threw a red needle around, "Yeah, it's perfect."
The needle that she threw around formed a circle on the floor and all of them were inside it. The princess even destroyed the lighthouse and made them surprised.
"Ms......Endorsi?" Bam was stupefied.
Except for the girls and Noah, the others seemed to bewildered with what the princess did.
Noah snorted, "How cold-blooded."
"Anyone who crosses this line.....will die" Endorsi said while twisting the needle on her hand. "Well, you might die anyway. This princess is moody."
"P- princess?" The random regular walked to her. "We don't have to play around....we should go......."
Charlotte shook her head. This team was hopeless to begin with.
Endorsi sent the random regular flying away from her. She said again, "All the fisherman in one place.....watching the ranker's movement.... you followed this stupid plan...." She chuckled before she continued, "Are you guys idiot? This is why you aren't suitable to climb the tower."
At that moment, Bam now understood how Endorsi enjoyed all the delicious meals.
She devoured them.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
