I awoke with a small wail, bolting upwards from my current position. I almost immediately recognized the familiar surroundings; I was in my dorm room. I let out an abrupt gasp, pressing my palm against my forehead. A horrific migraine seemed to be mushing my brains into a pulp and a sharp pain erupted through my ankle. That agonizing feeling was enough to remind me about the attack I had endured.
The lights in my room began to burn as bright as the Summer sun, only fueling the dreadful pounding in my skull. A slight ringing began to echo in ears, also making my head ache worse. I shut my eyes and clutched my hair, praying for the pain to stop.
"Relax, relax. You're alright," I heard Monokuma tenderly speak from beside me. He gripped my shoulders and gently guided me to lay back down on the bed. "Just lay down and take it easy, my dear."
I didn't struggle or protest against him, I was too drained to. The only thing I could do in my weakened state was hope that Monokuma would properly aid me. Monokuma placed his hand onto my cheek and stroked my face with his thumb. I couldn't see his expression due to the fact that I refused to open my eyes. I wanted to avoid being blinded by the light, after all.
"Monokuma?" I murmured in a raspy tone. He merely hummed in response. "What happened?" I asked him. I wasn't aware of what happened after the attack nor did I know how I got back into my dorm, let alone survive. Monokuma had something to do with it.
"Well," Monokuma emphasized the word, "somebody decided to be stupid and get involved with a potential murder case. Which, spoiler alert, it did end up being a murder case. You ended up being caught and nearly killed, but your wonderfully heroic knight in shining armor came to your rescue~ I brought you back here to your dorm to treat your words. You're welcome, by the way." I could already tell that there was a proud smile adorning his face just from his tone.
"You...saved me?"
I felt the bed shift from Monokuma moving closer to me. "Of course I did! Who else would be smart enough to perfectly treat you?" I chuckled a bit at his statement. Monokuma's thumb grazed my bottom lip, making me open my eyes. The light burned them, causing me to whine in pain.

"Hey, it's okay. Take this." Monokuma held up some sort of medicine up to my face, advising me to take it. I glared at the medicine questionably. Monokuma took notice of this. "Come on, I'm not going to kill you. Why would I go through the trouble of saving you from death just to poison you straight after?"
He had a good point. "Here, I can take it myself," I insisted, lifting my arm and holding out my hand. My hand trembled as I struggled to keep it up.
"Are you sure about that, princess?" Monokuma raised an eyebrow. He smirked in amusement when I unwillingly dropped my arm, proving myself wrong. Now that my eyes properly adjusted to the light, I could see Monokuma more clearly. His monochrome hair was messier than usual and he looked worn-out. It looked like he pulled an all nighter. Still, despite that, he still managed to look attractive.
On the edge of the bed, medical supplies like bandages, antibacterial ointment, cleaning cloths, etc, were scattered across the blanket. I noticed a bandage roll off the bed and fall onto the floor when Monokuma's leg brushed against it, but he didn't make any motion to pick it up.
"Here, open your mouth," Monokuma instructed. He opened his mouth as an example, urging me to do the same. I leisurely parted my lips and allowed him to help me take the medicine. Almost immediately, he shoved a bottle of water to my lips. Once I drank a bit of it, Monokuma moved it away from my face.
Almost instantly, the pain in my head began to subside and I felt a bit of my energy regaining. Seriously, what the hell kind of medicine did he give me? Anyway, the pain in my head had been reduced to merely a small ache and the pain in my ankle went away entirely. I could finally seem to think straight now.
I was still weakened despite having some energy now, so I was careful with my movements. Now sitting up, I looked down at my injured ankle. My shoe and sock were removed so Monokuma could properly treat it. A white bandage was wrapped securely around the ankle, reducing swelling and helping aid with the pain that was basically gone now. Still, it was best to leave the bandages on for now. I reached my hand up and felt bandages also wrapped around my head. I suppose it was to treat the injury from the hammer attack.

"Are you feeling better?" Monokuma's question captured my attention.
I turned to him with the best smile I could muster despite my weariness. I leaned over and pulled him into an embrace. "Yes I am, thank you Monokuma," I answered. I admired the effort he put into treating my wounds. Perhaps...it was alright to let my guard down around him.
Monokuma. He truly was a wonder. He said that I was his favourite, he said that he had a soft-spot for me...Monokuma said that he loved me.
I know it wasn't apart of my plan, but maybe it was okay to adjust it. Sometimes when it came to the scripts that I was instructed to stick to, I would have to improvise the lines to fit the scene more. Is this the same sort of situation?
I felt Monokuma wrap his arms around me, returning the hug. The male buried his face into my neck and I could feel his breath hit my skin. I stroked the top of his head, my fingers gently brushing past his bear ears. I felt him grin from the action, making me giggle.
"I'm glad you're alright. I don't know what I'd do if I'd lost you," Monokuma mumbled almost too quiet for me to hear.
I glanced down at him. "Are you really that attached to me?"
Monokuma moved his face away from my neck and laid on my chest instead. I resisted the urge to giggle when his hair began to tickle my chin as he listened to my heartbeat. "You know I am, my love. How could I not be? I have admired you for as long as I remember. You're so beautiful, unique, and talented. When you're putting on one of your acts, I can always sense the passion you put into acting. I would follow you down whichever path you decide to walk upon because I will never let you be alone. (Y/n), I love you so much."
Once he was done with his small speech, we moved into a different position. Monokuma's face was directly in front of mine. I could see almost every detail littered across his face. His heterochromic eyes were dull, yet the longer I stared into them, I could almost see a flicker of hope glinting into them. God, his eyes were so beautiful. A perfect showcase of despair with only a glimmer of hope remaining.
Maybe it was okay to feel this way for him. After all, who was really stopping me?
Monokuma continued to edge his lips closer and closer to mine, beginning to flutter his eyes shut. I did the same, the sensation of butterflies overwhelming my stomach. When our lips met, I felt a burst of warmth explode in my chest. Everything else seemed to stop in that moment, the only thing I could focus on being the male before me.
One of Monokuma's hands rested on the side of my face with the other was at the back of my neck, pulling me closer. This kiss had definitely lasted longer than the other one had. This was had contained much more passion and feeling put into it. We refused to pull away until we both ran out of breath.
Monokuma let out an airy chuckle as a smug smirk made its way onto his face, making me roll my eyes. I couldn't help but smile fondly at the prideful boy that I had fallen for. I took a deep breath, running a hand through Monokuma's hair. "Monokuma?"
"Yes?" Monokuma responded, laying his head on my chest once again. I smiled and kissed the top of his head.
"I'm not going to hold back my words anymore, Monokuma," I announced. This caught Monokuma's full attention. He lifted his head and stared deeply into my eyes, awaiting for me to continue my sentence. I sharply inhaled, spitting it out before I could regret anything else.
"I love you too, Monokuma."
