"Which Beatle is your favourite?" I ask Marnie while she browses the many album covers in the small music store.
She looks so gorgeous. Her blonde hair falls in beautiful beachy waves, her eyebrows pinched together and her lower pink lip folded between her teeth as she looks through a selection of classic rock music. She looks cute in her high-top Chuck Taylors and Capri style plaid trousers with a matching blazer and loose t-shirt with a Beatles logo.
"John Lennon of course." she says like the answer is obvious. "I loved his sense of humour and his bad-boy reputation."
I fold my arms, puffing my chest out, gazing at Marnie thoughtfully and I can't resist smiling. "Ah, so you like the bad-boys huh?"
She giggles adorably. I can't help grinning at my girl. My girl.
It's so strange to think I have a girlfriend. It was only three months ago I was going from girl to girl, not caring what anyone thought of me. One day, my Angel walked through the door and she flipped my world around, now she has my heart.
As soon as Marnie picks out the few albums she wants to buy, we head over to pay. A guy in his early twenties stands behind the desk with a bored expression as he scans the items through.
My phone buzzes in my back pocket. I retrieve it from my jeans, it's no surprise when I see it's my bandmate's group chat. We have a practice session tonight and then we play at Cruise on the weekend. It's good money and we love the attraction the club brings for the band.
I briefly read through the messages, the guys are asking what's going on with Harley. Roxy is mad, and judging by the messages, it seems she got in a pretty bad argument with JJ and Matt because Harley has now decided to take a break from the group.
I have no idea what's going on with Harley, nevertheless, I kept quiet throughout the exchange on the chat. What Harley decides has nothing to do with any other member of the band.
After I type a quick reply to confirm my appearance for the club this weekend, I turn my attention back to Marnie as she thanks the guy behind the till. I take the plastic bag from her hands as the man looks directly at my girl. His eyes grow wide with shock and recognition.

"You're Marnie... Marnie Love..." he whispers in disbelief. Marnie smiles sheepishly. I guess this isn't the first time she's been recognised.
Everyone loves her parents -- they are considered icons after all.
"Yeah," her face is painted red as she gazes at the man shyly. "Nice to meet you."
The guy is frozen in shock -- staring at my girl -- and I can't help feeling protective over what's mine. I straighten my spine, while my other hand snakes around Marnie's waist. "Let's go." I raise my voice high enough so the guy could hear me.
He glances at me and I stare him down until he finally looks away. Yeah, that's right. She's mine dickhead.
Without another word spoken by the guy who was ogling my girl, we leave the store, not before I send him a harsh glare behind my shoulder.
"Reese wait!" we stop next to a small maroon and white photo booth outside the store and Marnie looks up at me with puppy eyes and a small pout. I can't believe the things I would do for her.
"Okay," I grab some change from my pocket and we sit inside the booth. I pull the curtain closed while Marnie snuggles close to my side.
We end up snapping at least ten photos together. When I see Marnie's face light up as she gazes down at the pictures in her hand, I feel my heart leap with joy. We stay inside the booth for another ten minutes kissing before it got to a point we knew we had to stop.
We walk towards my bike hand in hand, it's a warm day considering it's the end of November. It won't be long until we graduate and I'm struggling to get the grades I need for college. I started the year positively, then all of a sudden my brother died and my life quickly fell apart. I push the thought aside as I jump on my bike and help Marnie secure her helmet.
We decide to hang out at my place while my father's busy working a late shift again. Marnie is good company. She always puts a smile on my face or she says something so incredibly funny that I'm in a fit of laughter and then she starts blushing brightly. I love seeing her pretty little smile and blush.

Unlocking the front door, we step inside the house and we both agree to watch a movie in the living room. Of course, she wanted to choose a sappy teen movie on Netflix.
"Seriously?"
"What? It's a good movie?" she settles on the sofa with her legs tucked under her. I find it hard not to touch her right now, she is so tempting and she doesn't even realise it.
"Out of all the movies on Netflix, you pick this one. Why?" I could hardly believe I'm stuck watching this film, I don't think I've ever watched a romantic comedy before. I usually stick to action or horror. What has this girl done to me?
"Because Reese, I've been homeschooled my entire life. The only way I could see what high school was like was watching these amazing movies."
I break out into uncontrollable laughter as she watches me with wide eyes, her cheeks blazing. "So you couldn't wait to start high school because you thought it was like these cheesy romantic comedy films? Marnie, you're so funny." I hold my stomach from laughing so hard.
Her blue eyes sparkle at me. "Well, you're cheesy and romantic so I guess I was lucky to attend high school this year."
My face drops and I stop laughing. Does she think I'm corny? With the reputation I've had I'm pretty sure I'm far from cheesy or romantic. The weird thing is, when I met Marnie, I wanted to be that perfect guy for her. The guy who buys her chocolates and flowers. I've acknowledged I would do anything for Marnie and that scares the hell out of me. "I'm not cheesy or romantic."
"So what would you call my birthday?" her face is smug and my eyes drop down to her bottom lip that's caught between her teeth.
I don't even think about the next words that leave my mouth. "I just wanted to do something nice for the girl I lo--"
Stop talking Reese.
Stop talking.
"You what?" I look up and see Marnie's gorgeous face, waiting for me to finish my sentence. I clear my throat and continue. "I just wanted to do something nice for you."
"Aww Reese you big softie!" she giggles. Phew, for a moment I thought I was going to say something else.
I smirk devilishly at the naughty little blonde on my sofa. So she wants to play games with me.
"I'll show you I'm not a softie."
"Oh yeah, how so?" she taunts.
It's time to make her blush, again.
"I'm hard for you Marnie, always." she opens her mouth, closes it and opens her mouth again. I notice her neck and face heating up and I can't resist laughing. I draw my head back and chuckle deeply.
Fuck, she's cute.
I look back at my girl and see her resisting a smile and she has the tiniest glimmer in her blue eyes as she watches me laugh. "Although you're soft underneath that hard shell. You're a good guy Reese." she says.
I lean over her and she stiffens instantly. Her breath has become uneven and her heart beats wildly in her chest. I love how I make her react this way. "Take it back."
"Or what?" she challenges me.
I smirk, gazing into her beautiful eyes before I start tickling her sides and stomach. She squirms and gasps underneath me. "No, Reese!" her screams fly off the walls and it's like music to my ears. "Stop!"
"Take it back." I continue my torment, my face hurting from laughter. She giggles while tears fall from her eyes.
"I take it back!" she concedes.
When I finally give in, she sighs heavily, trying to catch her breath back. "You jerk." she cries.
"Sorry baby." I kiss her lips and pull back to stare at her.
I don't remember having such a good time as I do with Marnie. She's become an important part of my life. She's perfect. She's mine and I'm a lucky son of a bitch to have her.
