《The ThickGirl and The Badboy》Chapter 28

She said yes.
She said yes!
I mean,*ahem* she said yes.
As I saw her run away, my heart slowed down for a moment.
I already missed her presence, I wanted more of her hugs and kisses.
A smile lingered on my face as I still felt the warm kiss on my cheek.
It was a cute gesture.
"Bryson, my man!" Dominic, one of my teammates, called to me walking over with a big grin on his freckled face. "She said yes bro."
"I know." I answered him still dazed.
"Man are you gonna have a good time with that thing."
"I kno-Wait what? She's not a thing Ramirez, get your shit right."
He looked at me incredulously and chuckled, "Since when have you gone all soft? Last time I checked you called them the same thing."
"Okay well that was shitty of me to do that."
"Woah woah woah, don't tell me she made you all soft now, because if thats the case," He came close and whispered in my face, "Then we wouldn't want a new team captain now would we?"
I scoffed and shoved him off, "What does a girl gotta do with my position on the team?"
"Are you serious? Everything Bryson, everything. Only the best players get to be the team captain. And I don't mean by being the best on the field. Don't you remember that pact that was made years ago?"
"No, I've never heard that."
"Oh, yeah. That's because you weren't here when that happened."
"Wait so let me get this straight, so is that the only reason why I even got to be team captain? Because of how many girls I pulled? Not because of my actual talent in baseball?"

He laughed and put a hand on my shoulder, "Don't take it personal Anderson, but ofcourse it is. I mean you're good, but not that good. You get it?"
"Yes. Perfectly." I said through gritted teeth, shoving his arm off of me and walked away from him angrily.
'I'll show him
I'm gonna keep my position on the team and be the best player on the field.
While still having ThunderThighs with me, I'll show him I can have both. ' I thought as I almost stumbled onto someone.
"Whoa there Anderson, where are you going? Aren't we gonna take a picture together?"
"ThunderThighs." I whispered surprised, I thought she was still running?
"My cool down run is up, so let's go." She replied taking hold of my arm.
I could feel the sparks lighting up between us as our skin touched.
But I tried to play it cool..like it was nothing.
"About that, why don't we just leave? I'll take you out to eat and you can have anything you want."
"Mm, that sounds great, but I really want a picture for memories. This wouldn't be so speacial for me if you weren't the first to ever ask me."
I stopped walking and looked at her, "I'm the first one?"
She rolled her eyes," Don't be so cocky-"
"I'm not!" I chuckled, "It's just surprising that's all.."
Now she chuckled, and I swear my heart almost leaped out towards her. "Surprising? Are you kidding? I'm the biggest loser when it comes to these things. I've never even been asked out to a date since you-" She stopped herself and blushed looking down embarrassed.
I tilted her chin up to face me and whispered softly, "No don't be embarrassed. It's cute actually, that I'll be your first for everything. "

She looked at me confused, and opened her mouth, "Excuse me?"
"Shit, not what you're thinking. Trust me that's not what I meant." I laughed letting go of her.
She only stared at me blankly and kept on walking, not holding on to me.
I followed her, the air stinging with awkwardness.
"So..you still want to take that picture?" I looked at her for a response but she wasn't listening. "ThunderThighs."
"Huh? What?"
"What's on your mind?" I asked her, she was clearly thinking of something and I wanted to know if it was about my comment earlier.
She side glanced at me then looked back down, "The fact that you're here, and drove twenty miles just to ask me out to a stupid homecoming dance."
"It's not stupid."
"It's just a dance that comes after a football game, in which we always loose because our players suck."
"Do they really?"
"Yes!" She smiled, "They really do, meanwhile I'm here and just won 3rd place out of like 200 girls and don't even get recognition in the announcements, but oh Sean scored one touchdown and suddenly he gets all the glory."
"You guys don't get much recognition do ya'll? " I asked staring at her, I could tell my stare made her uncomfortable as she made eye contact with me then looked back down.
It was kinda cute.
"No, everybody thinks Cross Country isn't a sport it's just running, and anybody could do it."
"That's not true."
"I know! Right?!"
"The way you looked down there, nobody could do that. You're good Koleen, not as good as me ofcourse but you're good."
She pushed me hard making me stumble then smiled, "Wow, thanks."
"No problem." I smiled back at her.
"Koleen! They're about to announce the team places! C'mon lets go!" One of her teammates called.
"Sorry, I gotta go. Get the poster and the shoes, and be ready for a photoshoot." She winked.
I smiled, her wink making my heart beat alil faster again.
The way she winked at me was hot.
Once she left I sighed, I needed to get the poster from the guys but I didn't want to get it from them at the moment because I was still mad at what Dominic said.
Don't be petty Bryson, just do it!
But what if I wanted to be petty right now? I mean I know it's for ThunderThighs, but what they did was stupid.
The pact was stupid.
I'm stupid.
I'll just go pay some random dude to go get it for me.

Battle Royale across the Universe: The Species Tournament
Join the Species Tournament! You might lose your sanity, and quite possibly, your life. But hey, great adventure awaits. Who would accept such a deal and risk it all for glory and the unknown? Well, apparently quite a few. In fact, 1.000.000 life forms will face each other in this century’s tournament. Who will win and who’ll be sent packing? Who will gain strength and who’ll leave with trauma? Find out on this week’s episode of the Species Tournament! ................................................................................................... Additional notes (for those who want more details before giving the novel a try): - It’s a battle royale type of setting between humans, pixies, elves, and dwarves organized by a Television Channel from the Demon World. - The MC foolishly decides to join the competition and will struggle to redeem himself throughout the story. The unfolding events will force him and his friends to mature in different ways. - Each round will be held in a different location/planet. The rounds and the locations will become crazier as the plot progresses. - There will be a mystery aspect to the story, since the demons don’t really like spoon feeding contestants on what is going on. - You can expect some magic elements, though contestants won't have much access to them. - The members of each species will have their own unique worlds, back-stories, motivations, and traits. Some will fight for personal reasons while others for the sake of their people. The needs of many vs. the needs of the individual will clash on several occasions. - Finally, there will be twists and turns at every corner, so one should never get too comfortable. Thanks in advance to all who read my story, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
