On The Run

Ana yawned loudly, not bothering to put a hand over her mouth since they cradled a hot cup of coffee. She had to crash at a room in the office, and sleeping in a lumpy mattress was no fun, especially when she needed the rest. She was in training gear, heading to the elevator to take her to the training wing. She wanted to see how it had improved since the last time she was there, and to see if the walls she kept putting holes into were new.
She called the elevator and when the doors opened, she was slightly taken aback by all the men inside. She smiled at Steve who was right in front of her, "Hey Steve."
"Morning, Ana." He replied.
She shimmed herself next to him and looked at the controls, "Training." She said and watched as the screen confirmed her request, closing the elevator doors.
Ana went to take a sip of her coffee when she sensed the tense atmosphere. She glanced sideways at Steve, keeping her actions as causal as possible and saw he was clenching his jaw, giving her the same look.
"Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?" Steve asked. Ana removed the cap on her coffee when there was complete silence.
"I guess not." Ana commented.
The agent in front of Steve turned around and used his electric rod to hit him. In lightening speed, Ana shot out her hand and grabbed the agents wrist, pulling him away from Steve and dumping her piping hot beverage on his face, making him cry out and claw at his eyes.
Steve smashed the computer pad into lock down mode with his fist. The others grabbed him and tried to strap his wrists with magnetic cuffs. Steve managed to knock some of them down but one cuff remained, then Rumlow used his rod to give Steve a shock.
A couple of agents jumped at Ana, she had to keep in a laugh at that. She kicked out her leg and spun, hitting them on the sides of their knees and knocked them all down. Steve was fighting Rumlow as Ana tried to avoid being hit by an electric rod an agent was trying to jab at her.
She jumped to the side, "Missed me." She taunted and he growled at her, going to hit her but she dodged that one too. "Missed me again." She smirked before bringing her knee up and knocking him under the chin, watching as he fell back unconscious.
Steve managed to free himself from the magnetic cuff. Rumlow then goes to attack Steve with his electric rod but Steve manages to defend himself and eventually knocks Rumlow out. He picks up his shield then opens the elevator doors, but he's faced by a team of STRIKE agents pointing their weapons at him.
"Drop the shield! Put your hands in the air!" An agent demands, followed by others who all had their guns pointed at the two.
Ana glared at them all as Steve closed the doors. He looked at Ana, breathing heavily, "Brace yourself." He said before using his shield to break off the elevator wires which sends the elevator down.
Ana fell at the sudden movement, groaning when her face awkwardly hit the ground. "Shit." She mumbled and climbed back up to her feet. The elevator stopped all of a sudden and Steve and Ana shared a wary look.
"Give it up, Rogers! We've got you surrounded!" The agents shouted through the door. "You've got nowhere to go!"

Ana looked at Steve, "So? How should we make our grand exit?" She questioned.
"Well, unless you can fly, I think we jump." Steve said, glancing down at the window.
Ana couldn't help but laugh, "Fly? Jump? You crazy?" She looked at his serious face and sighed, "You're being serious. Well, okay, I can't fly unfortunately but," She raised her wrists and showed him the metal bands.
She grinned, "I've been waiting to use these." She said.
Steve gripped his shield and nodded at her, "They're after me, not you. I go down," He gestured to the window, "And you run, okay? Go somewhere they can't find you." He said.
Ana frowned, "What are you going to do when they surround you on the ground? Gonna bust out like Bruce?" She asked sarcastically, huffing when he gave her a nod.
"Look Steve, I'm not going to let you do this on your own. Let me help." She dropped her arms.
Steve sighed and lowered his voice, "Meet me at the hospital, two hours. Go. I'll meet you there." He said before breathing out and giving her a nod, "See you soon." He then ran and pushed out of the window, jumping down to the ground floor.
Ana put one leg out of the widow and activated her metal bands, hearing the high pitched whizzing sound as they turned on. She looked down and steadied her breathing before propelling her body to the side of the building, the metal bands attaching themselves to the walls.
Ana breathed out a laugh and used her feet to grip on the wall better. "Thank you Peter Parker." She said to herself before climbing down the building, hurrying when she heard gunshots aimed at her.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, she ran out of the area. She could hear the engines of some cars as she jumped over the gate, landing on her hands and feet. She looked back seeing Steve on his motorcycle and returned to getting the hell out of there.
Ana didn't know what was going on, but she had a feeling it was to do with Fury and his death. She had to find Natasha before it was too late and they already get to her. She slipped into a small clothing store and took a hoodie, hat and a pair of glasses. She just handed the cashier a hundred dollar bill she was hoping to spend on taking Nat and Steve out for a couple of drinks and walked out the back exit.
She put on her shades and placed the black cap on her head after putting her hair in a ponytail. She left the hoodie unzipped as she walked towards the hospital. She needed to talk to Steve, hoping he could shed some light on the subject. SHIELD was falling apart, and she knew it was all on Hydra popping back up.

Ana walked into the hospital, passing the front desk with a false urgent look when the lady called her back, telling her to sign in. Ana just yelled back, "Lady, I've been holding it since seven a.m!" Earning a lot of weird looks. She walked backwards into the staircase and ran up to the fifth floor, where she figured Steve would be.
Her black nike air max sneakers padded across the floors of the hallway. She entered a room where the door was ajar, immediately stopping in her tracks when she saw a couple pressed up against the wall.

"Damn, you know this is a hospital- Oh hey Nat, Steve." She smiled, looking at their attire that matched hers. Hoodies, sneakers and glasses, your essentials in laying low.
Natasha pushed Steve off her and walked to Ana, crushing her to her chest. "I'm glad you're not dead." She said and Ana chuckled, "Thanks. You too."
Natasha faced Steve before looking at Ana, "He wants to go after the Winter Soldier." She told her, expecting Ana to refuse.
But she did the opposite and cracked her knuckles, "Awesome, I'm in." Steve looked at her thankfully as Natasha looked at her perplexed. Ana shrugged at her, "He shot me and killed Fury. Besides, he's been a pain in my ass since I first started working for SHIELD." She said.
"Fine. But going after him is a dead end. I know, I've tried." Natasha holds up the flash drive, "Like you said, he's a ghost story."
"Well, let's find out what the ghost wants." Steve said, taking the silver drive from her hands into.

Ana, Steve and Natasha all went into the Washington Mall. Steve was in the middle of the girls, walking quickly towards the Apple Store to use one of their computers.
"First rule of going on the run is, don't run, walk." Natasha said.
"If I run in these shoes, they're gonna fall off." Steve said under his breath.
Ana walked in front of the two and stopped inside the store, facing one of the MacBooks. "The drive has a level six homing program, so as soon as we boot up SHIELD will know exactly where we are." Natasha explained, typing away.
"How much time do we have?" Steve asked, glancing nervously around him.
"Not long," Ana said.
"Uh, about nine minutes from..." Natasha pops the flash drive into a the laptop, "Now."
"Fury was right about that ship, somebody's trying to hide something. This drive is protected by some sort of AI, it keeps rewriting itself to counter my commands." Natasha said as Ana looked around for anything out of the ordinary.
"Can you override it?" Steve asked.
"The person who developed this is slightly smarter than me," Natasha said as she glanced at Steve and Ana before looking at the screen with a smirk. "Slightly. I'm gonna try running a tracer. This is a program that SHIELD developed to track hostile malware, so if we can't read the file, maybe we can find out where it came from."
Ana stood next to Natasha, shoulder to shoulder and watched her work. The screens on the computer searched the U.S. map and Ana looked up when someone stopped next to them.
"Can I help you guys with anything?" An employee asked.
Steve, Natasha, and Ana looked at one another before Natasha put on a bright smile and pulled Steve closer to her. "Oh, no. My fiancé was just helping me with some honeymoon destinations."
"Right!" Steve said, jumping into Natasha's idea. "We're getting married." He chuckled as Ana mentally face palmed.
"All three of you?" The employee asked curiously pointing at Ana, waving his finger.
Steve and Natasha's looked sideways over to Ana who said the first thing that popped into her head, "Uh, bridesmaid." Ana said quickly, cringing when her voice cracked.
"So you're available?" He asked Ana.
Ana awkwardly laughed and elbowed Nat to help her out. "She's taken," Natasha smirked, "What's his name again?" She looked to Ana.
Ana glared at her before plastering a smile on her face, "His name is, is, it's- Daniel." She clicked her fingers, making the employee pout slightly, "Yeah, Danny Rand. He's my boyfriend." She stated. She can't wait to tell Daniel about this. He's real by the way, they met in college, nice man.
"Wow, congratulations," The employee said before turning to Steve and Nat. "Where do you guys thinking about going?"
Steve looked over at the computer screen as the trace search completed and Steve widened his eyes in shock. He looked at the employee. "New Jersey," He said.
"Oh. I have the exact same glasses!" The employee said excitedly. Steve raised his eyebrows and smiled slightly. At least he didn't recognise who he was.
"Wow, you two are practically twins." Natasha said dryly, working on the laptop.
"Yeah, I wish," The employee said, holding his hands in the air toward Steve, "Specimen. Uh...if you guys need anything, I've been Aaron." He stated holding up his name card.
"Thank you." Ana said as he left.
"You said nine minutes, come on." Steve turned back to Natasha.
"Shh, relax." Natasha said until the computer finally caught the signal in New Jersey that showed a small town called Wheaton. Ana looked up at Steve's expression on his face, "You know it?"
"I used to." Steve said. He took out the flash drive and put it in his pocket.
Natasha, Steve, and Ana walked out of the Apple store and onto the main floor of the mall. Steve looked up and around as they started walking down the mall.
"Standard tac-team. Two behind, to across, two coming straight at us. If they make us, I'll engage, you and Ana hit the south escalator to the metro." Steve said.
"Shut up and put your arms around us." Natasha said.
"What?" Steve asked.
"Just do it!" Natasha ordered.
Steve threw his arms around Natasha and Ana, pulling them close. "You two laugh at something I said." Natasha said. Steve and Ana gave each other a look before they both let out fake laughter, and walked around toward the escalator.
As they were going down the escalator, Ana spotted Rumlow on the escalator next to them going up, she turns to Natasha and Steve. "One coming up." She stated.
"Kiss me." Natasha said suddenly, turning to face Steve.
"What?" Steve asked,.
"Public displays of affection make people very uncomfortable." Natasha explained in a rush.
"Yes, they do." Steve said. Ana widened her eyes in shock as Natasha grabbed Steve's head and leaned up to kiss him. She choked out a laughed looked up through her glasses as Rumlow looked away from them, very uncomfortable.
"You still uncomfortable?" Natasha asked, walking down the escalator steps.
"It's not exactly the word I would use." Steve said.
Ana jogged up closer to Natasha and the red head smirked at her, "Daniel Rand? Is he real or made up?" She questioned.
Ana shook her head with a grin on her face. "Oh, he's real and super cute. We dated in college but then we just went to friends." She said.
"You still talk to him?" Nat asked.
Ana sighed, "Not since then. But when this blows over, I'm going on a long vacation and visit some old friends." She said, smiling at the idea.
Natasha smiled at her, "When this blows over." She nodded in agreement.

(Un)Paralleled
Based on the novel by MGHT, Unparalleled. Things are not as they were. In this alternate story, follow our Hero(?) as he traverses the world. But, is this world really the one we know? I will be using MGHT's original story as a guideline, and applying my own touch to it. Due to there being a lack of information on the wider scope of things, I'll be throwing in things that may not adhere to the original author's plans. Then again, what fun is there in reading something that has already been done? Tags and genres stated are subject to change without notice, be it the addition or removal of tags. Cover art is a fanart I found online a long time ago. Character is Gyuki from Nurarihyon No Mago.

They never called, yet he is here (censored edition)
Introduction:Not every world needs a Summoned Hero, even if it is possible to summon one. No, really! Everywhere, no matter the time, there are always good people who can use glory, power and personal harem themselves. And the one who was summoned? He is just a resource, nothing more… Translation of the original novel by Avada KadavraThe uncensored version is available here.Authors notes:This is just my take on the whole Hero Summoning thing, where a hero happened to survive.Fatal mistake, an error in a well-oiled mechanism that lasted for generations, gave a Hero a tiny chance to decide his own fate. After all, bad guys never expect a Hero to come, yet, the fucker still does.Partially inspired by the series “You summoned the wrong one” by Aitbaev T.A. who was in turn inspired by “Rise of the Shield Hero”.I have to warn you, Aibaev’s work of fiction is pretty out of ordinary, it makes one breath fire, cry until tears turn to blood and laugh to unconsciousness in equal measure.
