"Faster ladies! Come on!" Cassandra jeered.
Cassandra ran from behind the soliders, getting annoyed. They all ran much slower than she did, but she couldn't yell at them from the front.
"Stop!" She yelled.
The soliders stopped on front of the flagpole, facing her.
"This flagpole means we're at the half-way point," she held up a hand before the men could groan. "If anybody can grab that flag, then they get to ride back with Agent Carter. So go ahead."
They all started jumping and grabbing for it. One man tried climbing up the pole, and he got very close, but slid down. She couldn't help but laugh knowing she could get up there with no problem, actually, some of the younger girls could get up without assistance. She grew tired of watching them fail, and whistled.
"Fall in, come on, let's go!" She said.
The small man, Steven Rogers, was still standing at the flagpole looking up at it. She sighed, and clapped her hands twice.
"Rogers, I said fall in!" She yelled.
She was about to grab him, when he did something. The small man bent down, and twisted the rod securing the pole to the stand, and Cassandra stepped to the side when the pole came falling down. The man walked to the flag, and tore it off its hooks, and handed it to Cassandra. He climbed into the back of the truck and gave Peggy a smile.
Peggy turned her head around to look at Cassandra, giving her an I told you so look. Cassandra stuck her tongue out at the woman, before beginning to run, and yell at the soliders again.
••••••••••••
"Come on girls," Peggy mocked, as the soliders failed to do a correct pushup.
"Jumping jacks!"

The men did jumping jacks, very slowly. Peggy walked in between them, ducking arms and legs.
"Faster ladies! My grandmother had more life in her, God rest her soul! Move it!" She said, more angrily this time.
Peggy came up to Cassandra, Colonel Phillips, and Doctor Erskine. Peggy stood next to Cassandra, lightly kicked her ankle.
"What!" Cassandra hissed.
"It's your turn Miss Hawthorne."
A devious smile appeared on her face, and she walked to the men. Cassandra was about to make them continue push-ups again when Colonel Phillips yelled,
"GRENADE!"
Cassandra stepped forward to grab Peggy, but she was too confused watching Steve jump over the grenade. Everybody froze not sure what to do. No explosions happened, nobody died.
"It's just a dummy!" Cassandra shouted.
Everyone went back to their drills. Cassandra made them do push-ups, placing a foot on a solider's back.
•••••••••••••••
Cassandra sat on her cot. She clipped her hair back with a clip, and laid down. Peggy came out of the bathroom, and turned out the oil light on the nightstand between the cots. Cassandra stared at the ceiling, wishing she could see stars.
"Peggy?"
"Yes Lucy?"
"Do you have any siblings?"
"I had a brother named Michael."
"Had?"
"He uh, he died." Peggy said, her voice choking up a bit.
"I'm sorry," Lucy said sitting up to try and see her.
"It's alright. Do you have anybody?" Peggy said, her voice back to normal.
"I have a brother. He's in Russia at the moment." Cassandra lied.
She had meant to talk to Peggy about seeing James. But she couldn't, she changed her mind halfway through the conversation, knowing she couldn't blow her mission. Cassandra felt bad about lying to Peggy, the two women had become good friends in the last few weeks.

"Goodnight Peg," Cassandra said, rolling over to her side.
"Goodnight Lucy."
Cassandra closed her eyes, and slowly fell asleep, pulling her knees to her chest, warming her body better than the blanket.
At first she was sleeping peacfully, no tossing or turning, no nightnares. Then a voice echoed in her head.
"Cass. Cass. Cass."
It chanted the familiar nickname. She felt herself manifest in the darkness. A man came up to her, James.
"James?" She asked.
"Hey doll." He replied.
"James Buchanan Barnes. I told you I hate when you call me that!"
"Cassandra Odelle Barnes. You know that's why I do it."
She felt her lips form a smile and she jumped onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck. She breathed in the familiar smell of their father's cologne that James had stolen when he was a little boy.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too James."
She pulled away, expecting to see her brother's happy face. Her smile faded, being replaced with concern. A small girl with bright blue eyes looked up at her.
"Dorothy?"
"Cassandra."
The little girl looked angry. Cassandra tried to put a hand on her shoulder, but she turned away, morphing into someone else. Dr. Schmidt. He was holding the stick again, tapping it on his hand.
"Sir."
"Agent. You have failed."
Schmidt pulled a gun out of her coat before she could react. She saw a bullet flying at her and she fell to the ground.
"Lucy! Lucy wake up!"
Cassandra gasped, bolting up. She jumped when she saw Peggy's concerned face.
"Peggy, I- I, my brother- Dorothy." She stuttered, shaking.
"It's not real Lucy, it alright."
"No, no, I messed up, Peggy. Please don't kill me."
"Why would I ever kill you? Come on Lucy," Peggy asked, sitting across from her.
Cassandra took a long, deep breath. She shook her head, pulling her hand through her hair. Peggy raised an eyebrow at her, and she shook her head.
"You're right. I was just scared. It was just nightmare, I'm sorry for waking you," she apologized, laying back down. "Night Peg."
"Goodnight Lucy," the other woman said after hesitating a little bit.
She got no sleep, all she did was toss and turn. Cassandra scolded herself. She almost blew her cover. But she wouldn't do that again. She would complete the mission, forget about James or Dorothy.
i ran out of inspiration at the end there. sorry 'bout that...
also, the last episode of the first season of agent carter is really depressing. i cried so hard.

Meeting myself
Canceled (This was my first attempt at a story and while I really enjoyed it, I lost track of the thread of the story. The MC was too op, and except for some fun slice of life moments it just wasn't a very good plot. Anyway, I may come back and re-write this in the future because I really enjoyed the premise, but for now don't expect updates.)I've never met Karma; or at least I think I haven't. Hope, really, because I'm pretty sure she hates me. You see, the thing is, I've always hated flying. When you don't wind up getting molested (cavity searched), then your bags get lost, or you spend the entire flight sitting next to a crying baby. This flight was even worse than any of those things. You see, this flight killed me. I won't spoil it, but lets just say, Karma owes me a few explanations. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, deserves to die like that. Of course, that wasn't the end of my adventure, far from it. But, you'll just have to read the story to learn about that.(This is a mature fiction, so far their hasn't been anything overtly bad (some minor sexual innuendo and drug use), but their will be plenty of blood, gore, sex, all that good stuff... eventually)
