Life comes at you fast, and Julian Marco’s life is one flat tire away from being the worst kind of country song. But the blues may soon feel like an afterthought, once Julian wakes up in a hellish shadow dimension, with no idea how he got there or why. Forced to fight for his very survival may cost him his remaining sanity. Well, that or the fresh pair of fangs and burning lust for blood. Little does Julian realize what happens in the darkness could have drastic consequences for the rest of earth. And discoveries await that may just contain some dark secret from humanity’s ancient past. Note: This is a story I wrote years ago. It isn't complete, but I had a lot of fun with it. Meet the mysterious being that has given itself the name Novos. Once an unfortunate reincarnating spirit on Earth, it has now wandered onto a new world full of magic and monsters. Unlike its previous incarnations on Earth, this time it has awakened, with a jumbled collection of its previous memories of Earth, inside the body of Celestine, a girl with no special powers or distinguishing traits whatsoever. Novos is a hitchhiker, sharing the body with the young girl. Along for the ride, but able to take the wheel when needed. This is the story of Celestine's life as witnessed and influenced by the presence of the foreign spirit. Note: This is a rewrite of a previously submitted fiction I posted here. I rewrote it for NaNoWriMo from memory. Feel free to read what I previously wrote, but significant elements have changed. I am leaving that iteration of the story up un-edited for future reference and for anyone curious.
