tw / there is a suicide attempt mention in this chapter. i will alert you when it is coming up.
luke's parents walked in with his sister behind them. i smiled and hugged his mom before giving his dad and sister one as well
"oh hey mom" luke said hugging her. i watched as they did so. me and his sister sat there observing him and his parents
"you really like him don't you?" his sister spoke
"well i did marry him so you could say that" i joked and she rolled her eyes
"why are you rolling your eyes?" luke asked walking over to us. he ruffled her hair then looked at me
i pointed a finger at him while his sister answered his question
"i asked if she really liked you that much as she gave a back handed answer" she said and i laughed
"what else was i supposed to say?" i laughed "oh no i hate him with all i have in me"
"anything but 'well i did marry him' like that's obvious" she said laughing too
"don't ask dumb questions" i joked and we both smiled turning to luke and his parents who all had smiled on their faces
"god why did i let you two become friends?" luke said making us all laugh
"because you love us" his sister amsaid as we walked to the living room and sat on the couch
his parents followed us in and sat down on the opposite couch while luke sat alone in his chair that he forced me to let him buy
"okay what does everyone want?" he asked
---
"no because the plot of the notebook is going after love even if everyone doubts it. and you can't fight me on that" i said to luke's sister

we honestly are closer than i was with my own sister. i loved miley but she has never tried to talk to me, even as kids. only when she needs help with something
luke's sister texted me at least twice a week, joked with me, supports me, and shows me love when i need it most. she is my sister.
"kayla admit it, the plot is ryan gosling" luke said and i gave him the look
"uh oh not the look" his mom said. i just kept giving him the look until his lifted his hands in defense.
i have this look i give to people when i'm upset, annoyed, or pissed off at someone. i just stare at them with no expression with a hint of anger in my eyes.
it's scary honestly. i get scared.
teddy walked in and went up to luke asking for pets which he gave in and did. i smiled before my phone started ringing showing my dad calling. i gulped as i broke into a sweat
"ummm i- i got to take this. e-excuse me" i said before getting up and going outside on the back porch
i hit the answer button and put up to my ear. my hands felt shaky along with my breathing
"hello" i spoke
"kayla honey" he sounded like he has been crying which scared me even more.
⚠️
"dad? are you okay?" i asked quietly
"your mom and i came to north carolina. i know you are here now. umm well your mom attempted suicide in our hotel room. we are at the hospital. she tried to overdose, she has to get her stomach pumped" he explained and i felt a tear hit my cheek
although she taught me to hate myself, i loved her. she was my mom. she made me happy as a kid, made sure i was safe and happy. i took in a few deep breath's before sitting down on the steps that do to our back yard

"dad, i- i don't know what to say" i told him honestly.
"we need you kayla. she might not make it"
i ran a hand through my hair and let another tear fall. it felt like i couldn't breath
"which hospital?" i asked trying to stay calm
he gave me the address and we said our goodbyes. i set my phone down after hanging up and looked out to the sunset
i let tears fall out of my eyes as i stared out. the sliding door opened and closed before someone sat next to me
"i love you baby" was all luke said before wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me closer

Rise of the First Necromancer
Asrael Nessarat awakes on a sandy dune with a mouthful of sand and nothing but tattered rags in his posession. As the High Magus of the school of Necromancy, he once aspired to prove to the Emperor that magic still held a place in their society. But that day came, passed and inevitably accelerated his kind's downfall. Now; they are hunted, strung up and burned on pyres throughout the Empire by the Emperor's holy Inquisition- an efficient and ruthless army hell-bent on bleeding every last droplet of magic from the lands. With nothing but a mouthful of sand and tattered rags; Asrael is determined to seek the one thing his cold, still heart desires. Vengeance. This story can, at times, get very dark. It is not recommended for the faint of heart. This is not a story of an overtly powerful wizard who can pulverize his enemies from across the world, nor is it in any way, shape or form a joyous tale. We follow Asrael as he and his companions explore and seek to change an unjust world, where kindness and acceptance are exceptions, rather than the rule. If you are looking for a story to inspire hope or joy, this is not it. If you wish to read about likeable, heroic people, turn around. If you wish to see good battle evil, where the cut in between is clear, then this is not for you.
